NATO allies loosening restrictions on weapons for Ukraine? | DW News

  • Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has canceled all of his planned foreign trips as Russia intensifies its attacks on the eastern Kharkiv region. This new offensive began last week, taking advantage of Ukraine's shortages of weapons, following delays in Western supplies. But Ukraine says the Russian side is suffering record numbers of casualties and the Ukrainian army has been aiming to disrupt Russia's supply lines by striking inside Russia itself.

While they WILL help, it´s hard to say how big difference they make.
F-16 is an OLD plane, and it´s no Raptor 22, or F-35 ... it will help deliver bombs to the front, and it will increase the possibility to shoot down some missiles and drones.... but with Russian S-300 and S-400 you can´t simply get air superiority like that.

Because we are a dumb species. There is this dumb misconception that without war then technology wouldn't advance.
Firstly, there would be more total available resources at our disposal. Wars destroy infrastructure that has to be replaced. It takes resources to build weapons and equipment. It takes resources to extract the needed resources to replace, repair, and rebuild.
Secondly, we would not lose as much knowledge from entire people being wiped out (having to relearn/rediscover it). Between the people that had specific knowledge dying and literally libraries being burned down, I'm surprised we made it this far.
Lastly, the people themselves. How many have died that had the capability and capacity to further our species? Doesn't matter if it's small contributions in their town (helping the poor) or are a genius and cures cancer. So long as you aren't hurting others, everyone has a place. We are stronger together than we ever are apart.

Sure, if Russia can find a country that is fighting Nato, it has every right to supply this country with weapons.
If on the other hand you are talking about direct Russian strikes against Nato territory, then of course Nato has the right to directly strike Russian territory. (not just by giving Ukraine 1% of its weapons, but by using the other 99%)
Why is it that Putin fans constantly act as if Nato could not strike back in case Russia would directly attack them? And why don´t Putin fans understand that Nato can always answer any Russian attack with ten times as much force.
Nato is A LOT stronger than Russia. Get over it!
