Hi guys I just wanted to Introduce to you my other Channel "Kirkman's Academy" - which i'm just getting started. It's a go-to channel for simple explanations for hard to grasp subjects such as physics, maths and chemistry etc. Here is the link: www.youtube.com/@kirkmansacademy/videos . Thank you so much for looking, and if these topics interest you then I hope to see you the there. Many thanks indeed. Craig 😊👍
Excellent explanation. I live in Canada where the temperature goes from -30C to +35C in 6 months. However, nobody uses a chainsaw when it is that cold. -10 perhaps.
Well let me be the first to say I did at -4/-7 degrees….I’ve had hard starts. last week it was great temp like 40 degrees with easy starts…. I never knew how temp really affected the carb. Thank you for this information. And now I know…
Carburettors are indeed VERY sensitive to pressure and temperature . Two-strokes are highly sensitive but Four strokes also have some issues . C V carbs are a fairly good solution . Not perfect but pretty damned good and the " Lectron " solution is VERY good indeed . Back in my Motorcycle days I used to carry a bag of Jets and tiny circlip pliers . 5-10 minutes and all was good for where I was . Clean Plugs , no seize ups .
Would carb adjusments apply more to liw speed screw or high speed screw?...or rather, an even balance on both according to how the saw responds at diff levels of throttle? Another educational videi. Cheers.🙂
Thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate it. The carb screws work in combination with each other. It depends on the state of the engine, fuel, environment and more etc, as to which one is used the most in any given situation, but the general rule is that they work in combo with each other. 👍
Craig, your past videos describing how to tune a chainsaw are excellent. However today when I downloaded your pdf file on tuning a chainsaw, there seems to be a problem with the collation of the file. I can read the first few paragraphs well, but as I scroll down to the midsection of the sixth point, the screen suddenly goes blank and I can't read any further. I'm using a Mac computer. Similar disappearing fields appear on your website, although I was able to scroll through the order sequence. You might want to test out your website and order forms with different computers to search for bugs.
Call the airport before tuning the carby. Density altitude(IIRC) value is needed, just like for aircraft. Air density is affected by the air pressure, temperature and humidity. The density of the air is reduced by decreased air pressure, increased temperatures and increased moisture. A reduction in air density reduces engine horsepower, reduces aerodynamic lift and reduces drag. Thnx Richard Shelquist
I'm pretty sure somebody with a British accent knows everything about English considering it's the Eng-land of English. Har Har Har Har. Obviously he is very intelligent just listen to that accent.

Wow. Those are extreme temps compared to those here in England. Thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it. Craig 👍👍

Sorry to hear you have had problems. I will look into that. Thank you for letting me know. Craig

Wow. You have a very creative mind Mr Shelquist!
Affected. With an A. Effect doesn't have a past tense as it's not a verb.

@@deltoid77-nick yes I agree👍
Thanks again 👍
Absolutely true. A school-boy error on my part. I have changed it now. Thank you for highlighting it. Craig 👍
