I like that perimeter skirt wrapped over the bow and sides. I thought about something like that but had never seen one. Thank you for sharing your adventure!
Lovely video, thank you, I really enjoyed it. We sail an Avon Scow, 11 feet long, same as your Mirror. I was also impressed with the fore deck cover, which looks great for travelling - all the best - yes, it is wonderful to have a sister x
rino from australia.I just bought my self a mirror sailing dinghy in perfect condition last week ,and this video has inspired me heaps , I keep watching every other day . great video gals
What an adventure. I dream of doing this but we just don't have the stretches of water (and weather) in the UK for example Portland in the UK is a boat graveyard with a bank adjacent called the Shambles which is an ancient name meaning Slaughterhouse! If you like Mirror adventures ppl, read The Unlikely Voyage of Jack De Crow about a man who sailed from Wales to the Black sea in a Mirror! I'm going to watch more of your vids. Keep them coming please.
I absolutely love the sailing videos - what grand adventures! I see your Mirror Adventures sailing BC #2 and #3 - is there a #1? Have you checked out the Dinghy Cruising Association?
Glad you like these - they are great memories for me. There is a #1 I'm going to try to link to it here. Posted by my sister but made by me. th-cam.com/video/vNDdkEIOnls/w-d-xo.html
a good little video, nicely shot and edited... but the music got a bit grinding after the first time, at the start and at the end would have been plenty, other wise well done
Must try the voice-over thing on my own vids. You make very effective use of it here. Thanks for sharing. It has to be pretty good to keep my attention for 9:33!
What a great video :) a wonderful story. Did you have the fabric covers made for your Mirrors? I’d be keen to learn more about how they fit. What a great idea for cruising!
Thanks. The covers were made - coated canvas with a drawstring around the edges. I’m not sure if you can buy them - UK has loads of mirrors so maybe there. We call them dodgers - I borrowed mine from a friend.
@@likemagic12 Thank you so much. I’m in Australia so I will try to make one! How far back did they come, do you remember, and how did they attach around the gunwale? Elastic? Hooks? Thankyou, I really appreciate your help!
@@afloatinawoodenboat No, no frame - just tied to mast and a drawstring around the outside which was somewhat fitted. They work really well for keeping wave splash out, plus you can tuck gear between it and the deck. I wish I still had one.
Those dodgers over the deck are a life saver. They maximize storage space and keep a lot of water out of the boats. They are hand made from a coated canvas. Only one other little video published here th-cam.com/video/vNDdkEIOnls/w-d-xo.html
good videos have you any more to look at at they are so good and the music . so good i have a mirror now just been painting it today . as its been standing for 3 years outside

Great adventure. Anyone who has had a Mirror will know how well these little boats sail.
Super, good to see Mirrors still going. A great video.

`great video! I can appreciate the time you have put into this! The sailing looks awsome too! Good on you!
Awesome video! Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful, very inspiring to give it a try!
Very good effort and very inspiring
Super video, sailing and surrounding look great! Many thanks for sharing your adventures...
that was delightful. please post more of these splendid adventures
I really love that style of camping! FUN! :+)
Beautiful Jewels of The Wild... ! Happy Sails to YOU both.
this is the first I have heard of Mirror Dinghies and now its all I want to learn about.
Very well done video, like something I would see on the Outside channel. Also, noticed your cool dodgers too. Might be a business there ;-)
More people need to do this kind of sailing. People seem to think dinghies are for racing and keelboats are for cruising. That shouldn't be!
fantastic - very inspiring. Thanks for sharing
I love it. Wish I was there. Please do more.
Awesome adventure!

Looks great. But, with my pedant's hat on...knots, NOT knots per hour! A knot is a nautical mile per hour. That apart, well done!

i cant remember the words to that song, can you.

Nice vid.
OBJECTIONABLE SONG!
I love this video!
Good to be able to see this, as your other videos have been blocked in Germany due to the music copyrights argument between GEMA and TH-cam :.-{(
From Costa Rica central america. Awe so video and pretty nice pocket cruisers. Did you build them?
Earl Portland, take a look on google for the book 'The Unlikely Voyage of Jack de Crow', that's Mirror cruising taken to extremes!
Must try the voice-over thing on my own vids. You make very effective use of it here. Thanks for sharing. It has to be pretty good to keep my attention for 9:33!

@@likemagic12 did they have a frame like other spray dodgers on larger boats, or just tied to mast?

Great clip. Nice lucky luck music 😉
Are #1 and 2 hiding somewhere? I am especially curious about the tarp system over the front deck.
