This is so much more easy on the eyes than the black and white one. The other one was charming but it hurt my eyes to stare at a pure white screen for so long.

Lots of people, and me, being reminded of Hidden Folks by this game. But they are not made by the same people, so for all of its charm I can't say I'm impressed by them so clearly cribbing the style, the noises, the hints, the lot of it. Edit: and even if it's all constraints of the genre, taking a name that so clearly implies a relation between the two games when there's none is just blatant
It's a game about things hidden in plain sight? Are you going to have a go at Star Wars, Star Trek and Star Gate next because they're all about aliens and have star in the title?
@@farshnuke All three of them have distinct features which differentiate them from each other. But this is just a plain copy. At least they made their own levels, but unfortunately this is the point the original really did extraordinary well and therefore it is an obvious rippoff which improves nothing.
The Rock expo made me chuckle. That's actually a thing here. In February, there's a huge gem and mineral sore in town. People actually come from all around the world to buy stuff. It's kind of cool actually.
Snake charming is indeed real. However in reality the music being played does not actually charm the snake. What is happening is the movement of the instrument distracts the snake and makes it appear to be in a trance. :)
My incredulously noisy smelly neighbours are trying their hardest to make me reconsider the axiom murder is unjust. I'm hoping this vid will save me 25 years.
I have a suggestion for a new game to play. It’s called The Complex. It’s one of those interactive movie things, it’s made by the same people who made the bunker, which you played a long time ago. It’s really good and I’d love to see you play through it.
Jon claims this is because it's relaxing and wholesome but I think Claire is just trying to get him to perceive... well anything besides Greece really.
37:25 "We got a tiny bunny sculpture..." Jon, I think you're gonna invoke Anubis's wrath *again*. That's a jackal. Also, snake charming is actually real. The snake thinks the flute is a threat, so it follows it in a way that looks like it's dancing.
The thing I love about the first game (that black and white one) was the sound effects like a person just trying to emulate sounds was the best.. Other than that this nice and relaxing and great. I love there is no punishment. Just click on things till you find the right one ^_^
I don’t know what everyone’s talking about. Jon’s perception doesn’t make this game stressful. Looking at large gatherings of people on the screen is what gives me a heart attack!
He was staring with the mouse cursor over the stone igloo while reading the clue about a nice summer igloo and then proceeded to start talking about how it might be water. I know it's easy to miss stuff, but at times I feel Jon must be pretending given how bad he can be.
-Hello, Potion Seller, I am going into battle and I want your strongest potions. -My potions are too strong for you, traveler. -Potion Seller, I tell you I am going into battle, and I want only your strongest potions. -You can't handle my potions. Oh John, I love you very much and i watch practically everything you put out. But this time for my own sanity i've had to close the video halfway through.
I've been looking for these games since such a long time ever since I played one of them. Your comment clicked something in my mind and I managed to find these little gems again. Thanks a lot!
Ooh, a game relying on perception and Jon has -1 perception this should be good! *jon finds something right away while I'm desperately looking for it* does this mean I have perception -2?
So, I played it and beat it. It's charming but a little short(*). I haven't dabbled with the map editor or downloaded other people's map's however, so there is more user created content. (*)Jon got about half way through the game.
Yay this is good and just perfect and wholesome, so I am happy I am braking language conventions. Edit: I almost forget about Jon perception due to the first level.
Does anyone remember that book, it was like where is waldo but the art style was darker and more geared towards fantasy? Every page you had to find the antagonist, he was a shapeshifter with white eyes? Can't find it anywhere.
The greatest torture ever devised by man is photoshopping Wally out of the “Where’s Wally” books in the public library
How do you Photoshop out an illustration from a physical book?

Jon: Looks at bowling pin clue
Jon: "Ah yes, naturally occurring bowling pins, that's the most logical explanation!"
Oh dear XD
Also summer igloo must be water
This is basically perception training for Jon
"It's right there Jon..." - The video
Now imagine that as a live stream! "CLAIR! I can't find " :D
Agent West you put thing in brackets as if he wouldn’t just say “I can’t find the thing”
We're watching the man with -100 perception play a game that is all about perception. I think this might qualify as masochism.
or fun. Which is often the polar opposite of being professional.
Ah yes a good masochistic entertains others 🙃😂😜
52:51 "The *horses* are supposed to indicate that"
Jon...
He called the chicken leg in the first level a chicken breast 🤷
This is so much more easy on the eyes than the black and white one. The other one was charming but it hurt my eyes to stare at a pure white screen for so long.
There are options now to change the background color of Hidden Folks - you can make it paper colored or even go night mode if you want.
@@DesolateFields Oh, that's handy!
Jon, that “thing” is a throwing knife. “he shall not pass” was the clue because he won’t get passed the guards with a weapon.
John needs to play this to level up his perception stat.
"The horses are supposed to indicate that..."
Points at camels - Jon, the Perceptionman!
Hint: "i like to train at home"
Jon: "so basically, we need to find a gathering of bowling pins in the woods somewhere, a place they call home"
good old dense Jon, always the same.
I still like the one man vocalizing all of the sound effects from Hidden Folks over these....
45:52 - The "Spiky thing" is an ancient Egyptian kunai, of course. I think that should be common sense.

Guard: A random man tried to take a knife into the queens birthday party.
Jon: What's wrong with that

And Hidden Folks has by far the better levels.

Jon not recognizing a spinosaurus was surprising, but calling a camel a horse is downright concerning.
Awww...a cool take on Hidden Folks with Jon's jolly commentary - exactly what I needed from life!
@ 42:51 The person on the queue with the clue of "He shall not pass" is obviously going to use the knife to attempt an assassination on the Queen!

Lead I’m amazed he’s never seen a video of a real life snake charmer.
See, I'm usually wanting to yell at clients on the phone, but I can't, so Yelling at Jon's lack of perception is oddly cathartic....
THANKS JON
Dammit John, your making me nostalgic for elementary school computer class and the old I Spy games. God I miss those books...

Your right Jon, a gentle game like this is exactly what we all need right now.
Good vibes to all!
Thank you for this today.
The man of -1 perception playing this makes relaxing game stressful
Wait... Jon is playing a game that is pure perception-based? He really does torture himself to provide us with entertainment, doesn't he?
Yes and I feed on his pain and suffering 🙃😂😜
I don´t know, at times it feels like I am the one being tortured... :D
he cheats substituing perception with intelligence, getting tips and riddles
“Jon gains a permanent +1 to Perception...”
I really appreciate that you made a video like this in this stressful times, thank you jon c:
Amazed to find out this isn't made by the same people who made Hidden Folk. Another amazing "Where's Wally" genre game.
If this game seems familiar to you, it might be because Jon played a similar game "Hidden Folks" about 3 years ago.
That "scythe thing" at 38:30 its a Egyptian Sword called Khopesh.
You sold me on this game in the first 45 seconds. Ima buy it right now.
Very comforting to see Jon practice. Also, this became quite hilarious to listen to at 0.5x speed without looking at the actual video.
Jon saying "So logically." For 57 minutes lol

I'm guessing this is made by the same people as Hidden Folks, considering the name and art style
The developers of Hidden Folks have said they weren't involved at all, but it's pretty obviously supposed to make you think they are related.

Are the things different every time or have you just spoiled the first hour of the game if I wanted to buy it for myself?
The first level is the Museum of Witchcraft
Jon might say that this is just a relaxxing chill game, but I am pretty sure he is just training his perception for F4-Yolo.
