Hi kids, What’s for dinner?” Irv’s quip when he arrives at work is an office in-joke Dylan is openly sick of, that Petey hoped Mark might recognize. Like a dad joke. “Funny” because they all go home for dinner; they have no idea what’s for dinner, literally no answer to Irv’s question, which is what annoys Dylan. #severance
Ive seen some people saying Gemma was undercover. Probably already working with Ragabi and Irving when Lumon tried to kill her. They abducted her and now they keep her permanently severed. Her body was replaced by a burned body. Mark was brought oin for testing the chip.
Maybe Helena and Harmony are related, they both have aggressive tempers. Harmony was able to get into the Lumon event with dignitaries and get right into Helena’s face as a FIRED EMPLOYEE! Harmony gots lots of power, and they do fear her
I think Lumon is trying to be create an AI version of Kier and wants to be able to split explicit and implicit memories in people so they can implant AI consciousness into blank minds. These blank people would know how to walk and talk and understand basic functional knowledge, but they have no personal identity and could be taken over by the implanted consciousness
I don't think Mark's alcoholism played a part in Gemma's death cause I can't imagine Devon being so cavalier with his continued usage but the second hand moving is a solid catch.
If Helena was drinking, then HellyR should have felt tipsy strange. I also think she and the crew did not tell James Eagan about the OTC mess and just kept it at alcohol.
Jame CEO’s reaction to Helena’s calling him “Father” made me think CEO thought he was speaking to Helly, not Helena. That’s the last version he saw/interacted with. Had the apology (á la break room contrition) video even happened yet?
Oh, I love the Idea Cobel might be an AI or some kind of clone with half awakened memory! During first season I thought Lumen was working on resurrecting people and she is so loyal in return for bringing her mother back. It would explain why would she treat Kier as second coming of Christ.
@@tj3603 I like this idea, too. It explains a lot of weird stuff, and why she’s so fascinated with “proving” that reintegration is a thing. Also would explain why she’s fixated on examining the relationship between Mark S and Ms. Casey-hoping to find a way to trigger an emotion for or recollection of a loved one. It also explains **WHY** she would take that candle from Mark S.’s basement and have it burning during the wellness session with Ms Casey and Mark S.. The sense most linked to memory is smell. She smelled the candle before deciding to take it. Her hair-trigger temper is also curious. I can’t this second recall what prompted her to throw the mug, but it didn’t seem like a very major “offense” that would prompt the outburst. The other instances of the outburst I can understand - outie Mark asking about Gemma (her sense of guilt provoking the outburst?), the destruction of the Keir shrine (after being fired - extreme anger/frustration), the screaming after realizing Mark Scout was in fact Mark S (extreme fear?). The last three outbursts make sense, but the mug thing seems pretty mild.
@aliciafitch1420 hm, yeah, mug thing was kinda weird even for her. If I recall correctly she did it before department' trip to Perpetuity Wing because Mark S asked for it the wrong way without filling some forms 🤔 It seemed to me as intentional scare tactic from her to make him follow protocols and focus on department productivity, because he is too concerned with their wellbeing instead. The way she said it, like "it hurts me to hurt you, but I know you can learn from it", twisting his empathy to make sure he won't repeat this mistake in the future to spare her that pain.
Maybe Mark is somehow involved in the Death of Gemma and knows more than we think. Maybe he is trying to forget it but knows that Lumon has something to do with her death and is now feared that people could find out about it. Thats why he became so defensive about the topic when his sister was trying to dig deeper.
I think the whole basis of the severance is to create resurect as you said and this is a better way to test it. Just like in IT an VM. Separated and cobtrolled (air gapped) environment to test the software. And when it is readz for production, the will not switch back to the original self. The dev version becomes the production version. Lumen is the testing ground and the macrodata is the finetuning of the AI. The macrodata refiners are the AIs training another AI as synthetic data.
I have noticed the outbursts of emotion both inside and outside of Lumon. But only the outside version keeps trying to give Mark hints / encouragement to leave Lumon. For example, she is trying to tell him something about what is in the light fixture ( broken lightbulb fixture).
CLICKBAIT ! Mark is lying about liking Cobel's cookies ?!? Gimme a break. ( Just kidding, cool episode ). Also : Other hints you gave.... I agree it is like Cobel has an old outer appearance but an even older woman within ( well played by Arquette ). Maybe not call them AI when ( I think ) what you mean is they have uploaded their consciousness from one body and downloaded them into another body. Call them downloads or re-installs or something. Good call on the four tempers in MDR, I hadn't heard that. That bearded Frolic dude is the nine foot tall horned dude in the trailer. ( right ? ) Anywho, liked the vid, subbed, keep 'em coming. Thx

I believe the 4 boxes, which represent what a person is made of, where they deposit the numbers, are them reconstructing a person. Currently it is Ms Kasey, but it probably will be the original Kier someday. He is seen as a baby in the opening and looks up to Mark. Marks contribution is instrumental with his rebirth.
@@The_10th_Man Yes, the 5th box has not be identified as of yet. It may be something that they see as impure and would want it removed. Can't wait to see!!
@daveh5139 i think they're "optimizing" the ratio of the 4 tempers within each of the five bins. We don't know what the bins are, I believe, but within the bins, we have seen percentages corresponding to the four tempers, DRead, MAlice, WOe, and FRolic.
For the first point on the "My Takes" portion of the video, it somewhat seems like Jame is calling a fetid moppet to what he presumes is Helena's innie, so when she says "father", it's almost like his face slackens in relief, likes he's thinking, "Oh, it's actually her, now." Yet still enraged, he just leaves without another word. That's what I thought went down, anyhow
@@mahzi_productions he DID have an odd moment of realization when talking to her. I thought maybe he was just considering holding back what he really wanted to say. But this theory adds some weight to that!
hello. Fan ask Mark to look at bulbs on back of her head but he is not a Dr but was a history teacher, so that was odd as well as saying she may need change her name again.
Not sure if the ding means anything because in season one episode 2 we see that when Helly R goes through the exit door she reverts back to Helena and vise versa.
I don't think it means anything either, the other 3 went in the elevator and the shot was composed so that you could see the whole outside of the elevator door including the down arrow light. When they shot her going in they tightened up the frame so it would have either made no sense to have the ding when we cant see the light or someone in sound design just screwed up and didn't realize it because there was no visual cue to match it up with.
Maybe there is no ding because she is not going down, but to other part or path that will allow her to get to the severed floor without activating her innie.
