Auto Transport Broker plays Central Dispatch trick on Car Dispatcher!

- To clarify, I first called this broker on a Sunday, and after I gave him the carrier info, he said the load was ours but that he couldn't get to a computer to dispatch. On Monday, acknowledging that it was me again, he texted me the PU address, buyer number and lot number. Plus, I've been in other situations especially around a holiday where this was how dispatch was done. Clearly, we had a deal, and I was also able to verify the vehicle was paid for and ready to go once I had the information this broker had given me.
Many Auto Brokers get a bad rap from Car Haulers. This is a perfect example of how that happens. True story. #autotransportbroker #centraldispatch #brokerscam

You, uh...You and I talked about a Kia Soul last weekend for dispatch for transport.

So I'm not sure why I'm on hold.
But I'm guessing you put me on hold because you know why I'm calling...
Because you said you were gonna dispatch it to me - but you left it on Central Dispatch.
So when the driver went to go pick it up - it was already gone.
So Copart told him it was already gone but I know when I called Copart the day before it was still there.
So I'm guessing this got 'double-dispatched' and you've either got me on mute or you've got me on hold because you don't wanna talk about it
beause you know that somehow - for some reason - you dispatched it to me and another company
we don't know how many companies but at least one
and so then the driver shows up and there's no car there
and you know you're not supposed to do that
and I'm still on mute, and I mean, our - the phone line is still connected, so...
I mean, I'm assuming you can hear me. That's not cool, man.
I realize that some people - and I know, you can't - I don't know if you can hear me or not.

I think you have me on mute.
But - we know that some companies unfairly say they're gonna pick up a car - don't pick up a car.
I know that Copart storage is $40 a day which is expensive.
But the company I called for was really gonna pick up that car.
In fact, they went there to actually go pick up the car just as I said they would.
So - I don't know what - I don't know what happened - I think I know what happened.
I think you purposely didn't dispatch the car on Central so that you could 'double-dispatch' it and whoever got there first actually got the car.
It's not cool and um, you know, that's - that's actually one of the reasons why this is such a difficult marketplace for so many drivers.
And I know it's difficult for brokers, too. And I know it's tough on customers, too - but...
You know - it's not acceptable.
I don't wanna see this again.
I'm gonna look out for your company name and I'm gonna be careful next time I call you for a load.
It's really not fair.
And I know we're not going to get any money for it.
I know the driver's not going to get any compensation.
But, it happened and I'm going to be watching out for your company, so...

⚡😡 This is exactly why many Car Shipping companies and Residential Customers do not trust a lot of Auto Transport Brokers they meet through internet search engines and load boards like Central Dispatch. Not Cool! 😡⚡
This happened to me with 2 cars! But you still can get compensated for the cars! Call FMCSA file a complaint and then they will provide you with the brokarage Surety Bond, then you contact the surety bond and file a complaint! The surety bond will give a notice for the brokarage if they didn't settle with you! The bond will compensate you but you have to provide the Dispatch Contract!

In order to pick up from copart you have to make an appointment in the app. you cannot just randomly come whenever you want. So there is no way you can be tricked or scammed into a double dispatch because Cole park only allows one appointment for lots for a buyer. As soon as the driver gets the load he is supposed to make an appointment on the copart app and it will tell you that it is assigned to 1 driver only. So even if a dispatcher or broker is trying to double broker the load you will not be able to do that
Thanks for the comment. But this issue was 6 years ago. Before there was an appointment app. And unfortunately, double brokering continues to this day. I'd love nothing more than for this story to be false. But it is in fact, true. Plus, scamming is still alive and well in auto transport today. We talk about it every Thursday on Dispatching LIVE! Hi Jay! love your videos they have really helped me start dispatching for our new company. I just was wondering I have this broker I have been trying to go back and forth with. Originally they didn't like my quote so I passed. It ended up we go to 2 days before and just needed to fill the truck so I reached back out to see if they still needed to move it. He said yes but now it was less than what they were paying before that. I said yes because I need to get a car on the truck by tomorrow, however he is now trying to haggle me for even less for STUPID reasons and is being really flaky. If I find another car that pays better with a better company is it bad form to say hey nevermind my truck is full? I haven't signed any dispatch yet as he keeps putting it off sending it to me! Thank you!!
Thank you! If you don't have the dispatch for the original quote, then you're not legally obligated to move that load. If you believe the company you're trying to get the load from is being dishonest and/or trying to take advantage of you and manipulate the situation, then you're probably not under any moral obligation either. The never ending story. Some of this people should be suspended after they do this more than 2 times. Smh wasting people's time.& money. Suspend at least for 1 week add additional days on second time offender.
Put review for the broker then we all know to not to get a load from that broker
And how many times you call your customers that you got some transmission issues after you find a better deal 😅
One day I lost my cool and in the midle of the that huge ofice of Manheim I could't hold it any more (my car was gone ) and I started yelling every body there ... Sure i didn't get any 💰 but it feels better hahahaha
I'm sure you left an impression with at least someone to maybe pay a little more attention to the job!

Yeah. Cheaper, faster, or just doesn't trust anybody anymore... Unfortunately, the divide between brokers and carriers seems to widen over time. Thanks for the question.
@@ATIAutoBusiness Customers... These people dont wanna understand how the things work out here in this industry. I give a quote, likes it but asks for some discount. You waste lots of effort on the phone, then finalize it. Dispatch starts negotiating with truckers, you assign a carrier. You think it's all set up and fine. But NO !
That idiot went to shop around, found somebody else who offered them just $25 undercut and $25 higher for some other trucker. Truckers go in the same goddamn spot and find no vehicle. Who goes there gets the vehicle first. Then the trucker calls me really pissed off regarding which he's with all his rights, starts swearing, throwing every single profanity i heard in my life. So in the end I turned out to be guilty for this crap.
Maybe with technology and time, things will get better. I also wish Carriers and Brokers understood more about how neither one has it easy. That's what I'm working towards. Thanks for tuning in.

Happened to me last week, went out of my way to get the car at IAA and it was already picked up. 🤦
That's messed up.
That's why it is the job of the driver to always call in advance prior to arrival to pick up a car to make sure it is still available for pick up so this will be prevented.
dude if you don't have load dispatched out why would you go pick it up kinda your fault rookie.
