    TRAINING LEASHES: Here is our list of favorite training leashes (PLEASE NOTE: using a slip lead is very technique sensitive and we recommend consulting with a professional before using one on your dog. We do offer tele-training and online coaching options available on our website).
    * Nylon training leash with 2 sided safety stoppers: amzn.to/3Gnesud
    * High quality soft rolled leather slip lead: amzn.to/3ASo6Ut
    * Head Collar or Gentle Leader: amzn.to/32WrFMW
    DOG FOOD:
    Here is our fav's
    * Dr. Marty: freeze dried whole foods dog food diet. No prep work involved: amzn.to/35zTF9U
    * ZiwiPeak - A convenient way to feed a "raw" diet without the mess. With a variety of high quality meat ingredients with added vitamins and minerals: amzn.to/3Hr2iSf
    * Stella And Chewys - Another high-quality raw dog food that is freeze dried for convenience in feeding. Stella and Chewys has several options and recipes: amzn.to/3Gk13mx
    * Dr. Harvey's - hands down one of the healthiest dog diets out there but does require some prep work on your part for meal prep: amzn.to/3HjVsxU
    * Nutrisource Small and Medium Breed Puppy is what we feed our small breed puppies. The kibble size is perfect for tiny mouths too: amzn.to/32WoKDW

    OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS
    * We also use a raised dog bed in training our puppies. It is an indispensable and affordable training tool: amzn.to/3GoCvcj
    * Salmon Oil provides an excellent source of Omega fatty acids and can help create a beautiful shiny coat: amzn.to/3umw4Ef

    How adorable ! My min. schnauzer was a year old when she was given to me. After a few months with us, she taught herself lots of commands just by associating words and actions. Very smart and well behaved. The one thing I did teach her was how to “whisper”. 🤣 That bark and the roo-rooz though. ❤️❤️❤️ She also learned to spell. R-I-D-E vs R-I-D-D-L-E ... O-U-T vs O-U-S-T ... C-H-E-E-S-E vs CHEETO. 🤣 I tried to trip her up. As soon as the wrong letter was said, the perked ears went back down and she’d chill.
    Our cat has done pretty much the same. We talk to her like she is a person. She knows all of her toys by name and hides them. If we ask for a specific toy, she knows exactly where it is. She also knows how to use the remote control to turn on the TV. At first, we had thought she was accidentally walking on the Apple TV remote or batting it around in the middle of the night because we would wake up to go to the bathroom and the living room TV would be on. One day a few months ago, we realized we both had to turn it off in the middle of the night. When we got up for breakfast, it was on again ! (Which started us comparing notes.) Too early for TV (hadn’t had our coffee yet), my husband turned it off, got his coffee, and sat down in his recliner. Suddenly, after just a few sips of coffee, he yells out, “SHE DID IT SHE DID IT SHE DID IT !!!!!!!!!” He said she walked her happy swished butt over to the remote, looked him square in the eye, looked down and tapped the remote until the TV came on and the App page appeared. Satisfied so far, she looked back at him (square in the eye again), tapped the remote a second time (which opens the app for streaming TV), watched for the show to start, looks at him AGAIN, then goes to lie in her favorite place to watch TV. 😳💀 Totally true story. Her latest thing is setting traps for my husband. She leaves a trail of her favorite toys from his coat closet to her favorite ninja attack spot that we are not supposed to know about. After the trap was set, she crawled in the box and impatiently waited to ambush him. She waited a LONG time before I asked him to please go be the stooge. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀👻

    Very nice! It took me five years of consistent training every day, twice daiil to get my schnauzer to walk beside me reliably without a leash. She did everything perfectly but not that. Five years! But I finally won and when she was completely and perfectly trained she was the best doggie ever. Then I could throw balls for her to fetch and she would never go into the street and always promptly retrieve. She walkednlike a?lady atnmy side. She waited fornme to pop into thenbank in a corner and never moved. She would not take food from a stranger or let a stranger touch her. She moved away until they left her alone and returned to where I asked her to wait. Schnauzers are trainable and good companions, friendly and silly always.

    You aren't using words ( I understand dogs don't understand words but rather their sounds) . Do you have a video that teaches owners how to use this clicker thing and what all the hand signals and such mean? I'm a first time puppy owner and I have no earthly clue how to even begin to train my 8 week old Miniature Schnauzer. Please help!

    Hi
    What treats are you giving to your dog ???
    Let me know, thanks

    • @snakerivercanine7538
      @snakerivercanine7538  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello! Most of the time we just feed kibble as rewards since it is nutritionally dense. We factor it into the puppy's overall caloric intake so they aren't over eating. Often treats can be nutrient deficient and if a puppy fills up on that (especially these small breed puppies) then they can become nutrient deficient.

  • @gayedawn1
    @gayedawn1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What are the treat rewards?

    • @snakerivercanine7538
      @snakerivercanine7538  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally just the pups regular food (kibble) taken out of their regular daily rations so as not to over feed. This is preferred over non-nutrient dense treats. Small dogs will fill up on treats and then not eat their usual rations. This type of treat training helps prevent nutritional deficiencies.
