i have thousands of hours spent on APB, mainly from collage years when we played it with my roommate 24/7. Its a paradox that part of what kept me playing (and ocassionaly still does to this day) is how small and "dead" the community was. You know everyone, so everything is personal.... you loose and it feels bad. you wont quit because that a-hole you hate won. so you play one more and beat that a-hole. It feels good, so you play one more..... and the vicious cycle continues.....
customization in this game made it one of the best games i've ever played, i'm so good at making music that i made a fucking fortune on this game, way more than paytowinners, i could buy literally everything i wanted and just throw it to the trash without remorse i wish this game had a comeback, the party system is so good, i remember once there was SO MANY BACKUPS that a big part of the city was a war zone, it was like 20vs20, you could see rockets flying everywhere, 4v4 confrontations in cars, everything in the same fight , this was so good and insane, i literally loved this game until GTA V came out and killed apd, even though GTA V online sucks really bad
I actually uninstalled GTA V after a few days because APB did all the Driving and Combat better than GTA Online , and Payday did Heists better leaving the game with nothing to offer.
I spent a few hours just chillin with some dood that was practicing drifting one night. Just hanging out with a stranger as he practiced driving and I rode in the passenger seat in the middle of the night. He was a pretty nice dood. Another time I spent the evening chatting with a guy that was super depressed n just wanted someone to talk to who understood what it was like....he was a lot better at the game than me, I hope that dood's doin alright. A lot of the players left are folks that just enjoy one or two aspects of the game and that's it. I'm one of em, I spend more time creating custom design clothing and cars than actually playing through missions. lol
I've watched the entire video and I agree with most of your points except for the cash shop part. Cash shop weapons are 90% reskins and the ones that aren't reskins never were "gamebreakingly overpowered". We've had a couple examples such as the ATAC and the Troublemaker over the years that were better than they should've been but we also have plenty of F2P weapons that are better than those to this day. Exactly due to how the game is designed, you cannot win just because you have a certain gun. Everyone and everything is beatable in APB, it just requires skill and team work. Buying weapons off the cash shop never **truly** made anyone a better player than they deserved to be. If they are worse than you, you will always have the upper hand is what I'm saying.

@@StormAce96 CSG, OCA Whisper and the Trouble Maker were each OP at release and for a few months afterwards until they were nerfed. But consistently over the life of the game, the most powerful weapons, especially the N-HVR 762 and the N-TEC, have been free weapons.
Armas guns are not overpowered and APB isn’t pay to win. Also most Armas weapons are in the Joker store now. If you think Armas guns are overpowered, you’re probably just bad. The only overpowered gun is the PMG and guess what? It’s one of the first guns U unlock. But other than that this video is a great example of why APB keeps players and is unique. I’m sorry if I come off as a jerk.
This is the game I have spent more hours of my child hood than any other. Mind keeping us updated if the game in fact sees an update? I remember bugging cases on a sign just about where you rolled the car. Good times
I was one of the original 50k who bought this on release because I was so hyped for this game. I loved the customization in it, I made some good money making custom designs for people including a borat van with a bear. If you ever saw Sweet Tooth the clown or the clan Twisted Clowns that was me.

i used to play this game around 2014. it made some of my best memories and i managed to find some realy good friends on this game. i keep coming back to it, as most of you guys probably do. The only thing that makes me kinda sad is that i've never heard anything again from those i used to play with. it's hard for me to make friends in games like this, and as most of you probably know this game is way more enjoyable with people to play. Last night I decided to play after a 4 year layoff. I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised how much fun I had. Revisiting all the custom cars I made death songs. After every match gg's were given out. I hope the fun last.
I would love to get back into the game, it is really unique and was ahead of its time imo. The thing thats blocking me getting back in is the damn hackers that kill you in every corner. Unless its bareble now? Its been quite some years.
It's still not *good,* but the new developer, Little Orbit, *has* made an attempt to update the anti-cheat. If I had to make a wild guess, I'd say only 10% of the current population is actively cheating at any given time, which is a massive improvement over the bad old days.
@@Jawsofhana and then, there's me, 2k hours but still doesn't know how to ntec properly, mostly because 80% of that time i avoides it because my fps drops and stutters, so i couldn't tap fire xD. Putting new threat above gold, like platinum or something will greatly reduce skill differences between 2 golds. Mine gold and some twitch guy gold like exomie or flaws its not same. Still, after 10 years i didn't come across a game that attracts me as APB

Don't know how long you've been back or if you ever left, but Little Orbit has addressed the 'pay 2 win' aspect early into their obtaining of the title. All weapons, including legendary, can be obtained in the joker ticket store.
Fun memories from this game. i supported this game like crazy had almost every pack, every kit etc. the only op guns where the ATAC, OCA whisper, and Troublemaker but my fav gun was the agro tech rifle, was a nice balance between a rifle and a smg and also the joker. This game was fucking incredible when it first came out. Everyone's PCs could barely run it. If I remember right, the original devs lost so much money because you were able to customize things like clothing and sell it for currencies that could buy subscription time
Game is balanced but we fought a lot of hacker/modder/trainer user/whatever you want to call. That make this game sucks but if they can solve these "hacker" problem and make it hacker free zone. The game is worth playing.
So i'm not the only one that thinks this game has a good idea that needs to be redone but, this time right and with the tech we have now we can even take this idea to another level.
Now take the styling and claning of APB, and combine it with some next level combat customization seen in Cyberpunk... I remember enjoying APB, the game is truly one of the best, and sure, p2w etc, but the cool... Its a very cool game.
TL;DR: It's free. Give it a shot. Worst-case scenario, you uninstall it. I'm genuinely unsure how to answer this. The core game that exists currently is fun, but the US server is almost completely dead. It peaks at only a little over a hundred players. The EU server is more populated, so if you're in a region that has a reasonable ping to the EU servers, I'd say go for it. The game's free, there's no reason not to at least give it a try. Things may improve over the coming year, as, per this year's roadmap devblog, the devs have more or less given up on the engine upgrade and have transitioned to making what currently exists better. This is good; the game needs support and the engine upgrade has eluded the people working on it for over half a decade now. So if you're in a region with a better ping to the US, consider keeping track of the game's updates and trying it later.

3:45 I dont agree, and I would actually be able to forgive all the flaws if that was true. As I feel it, vehicles are mostly used for the sole purpose of reaching from point a to point b, since 90% of the objectives are inside a close area where you cant get in with a car.
Customisation is most definitely the best selling point however you need premium to have more than only 3 tattoos or decals on your clothing which sucks... The idea of premium shouldn’t be in the game at all tbh

RuffleRaven INC just saints row but my assumption is that if they ran out of ideas for the saints row series, which is very obvious, that’s why Agents of mayhem came out, but I think if anything they’re going to make a solid multiplayer sandbox to be different than GTA online, and I just found out about this game today so I had no idea that deep silver bought the servers or whatever for the game. To me, that draws some connections as to the future of saints row since they can’t just make another superhero / alien / virtual reality / 4th wall breaking / rpg / sandbox

These are facts apb has shown how a open world competitive shoooting game showed be. Gta v could of done a better job but gta v failed with the multiplayer competition aspect and it feels more like a co-op type of game
The guns are not P2W. I often get into arguments about this in-game when people accuse me of paying to win. What I do is unequip everything I have. I don't even assign a primary weapon and use only the default Obeya FBW pistol and proceed to still kick their asses. Usually, they then whisper that I have been reported for hacking(LoL), but sometimes they admit they were wrong and that I am just good at the game. The vehicles are P2W though. If you want to drop some cash on this game buy a dope car. I like the Rhino 4x4. You never mentioned the glory that is LTL enforcer gameplay. Nothing is as satisfying or rage-inducing to crim scum than stunning your opponent, cuffing them, and then using them as bait to get their teammates. Pure unadulterated fun and hilarity. The stuff crims say to you while you are cuffing them is just too funny.
Imagine calling others autists while playing with perks lmao, though I agree most of the people that remain are either tryhards that will make the new players leave or new players trying out the game. I've also talked with a GM and asked if they planned to rework the matchmaking and they told me "Yes after the big update we will work torward a new matchmaking system" which is amazing IMO

This video actually can be used as the answer to anyone who asks me why am i still playing it. But... I can not pass by "are premium store wepons all without exception game breakingly overpowered"? Dude... really? How could you possible make such a huge amount of deep and enlightened statements and put this one between them? For the entire 10 years of apb history meta always been around free guns - ntec, nhvr, jg, pmg, and so on. All devs efforts to make armas-exclusive weapon flowed to pieces of crap like Norseman (why the hell it's called Norseman by the way if its Russian Bizon). There is only 2 cases of actual p2w appearance: OCA Nano and Trouble maker. Second one was dominating so hard that it was ridiculous sometimes. But they both been fixed afterwards anyway. Maybe also pre-nerf scout from 2013 falls in p2w category too, but how many people even remember those times. Yes, playing without paying may be unconfortable at times. Yes, all this customization system blooms only if you have premium account. Yes, most of the contend (especially new content) only available in "premium store". But it's never been about wepons and actual "pay to win".
I have 1500 hrs on the game, i got banned recently because i shared my account with a frnd, still miss it , i had tons of frnds where we enjoyed a lot. I had 51k kills max arrest lvl on HAN server, the lowest player count server on the game.

i mean some weapons have it for me but it differs from person to person; i get ghost shots with a jg sometimes but my friends has no problem with it while he also gets ghost shots with another gun when i don't have any problems with it
Games not p2w and guns don't kill in 3-4 shots, the least amount on a pistol is 5 and most rifles are 6 to kill, p2w isn't a thing due to most guns being reskins and the ones that aren't (which is like 3) aren't game breaking and well balanced

I recently got back into this game and I've discovered a new addiction of copying my favorite characters outfits from various games....

I reinstalled and tried it and the cheating really shrinked down. Now there is a +1 to the maximum playerbase. Thanks dude for the inspiration.

RuffleRaven INC just saints row but my assumption is that if they ran out of ideas for the saints row series, which is very obvious, that’s why Agents of mayhem came out, but I think if anything they’re going to make a solid multiplayer sandbox to be different than GTA online, and I just found out about this game today so I had no idea that deep silver bought the servers or whatever for the game. To me, that draws some connections as to the future of saints row since they can’t just make another superhero / alien / virtual reality / 4th wall breaking / rpg / sandbox
Only thing I liked about this game was customization. I had customize me a mini coop with Pandas on it. It was glorious.

I'm sad I just discovered this game. I missed something great. Idk why it says on the Xbox store it came out in 2016 if it's been around waaay longer. I love open world shooters and character customization.

These are facts apb has shown how a open world competitive shoooting game showed be. Gta v could of done a better job but gta v failed with the multiplayer competition aspect and it feels more like a co-op type of game
it was meant to be coop focused, gta was never about competitive pvp
The guns are not P2W. I often get into arguments about this in-game when people accuse me of paying to win. What I do is unequip everything I have. I don't even assign a primary weapon and use only the default Obeya FBW pistol and proceed to still kick their asses. Usually, they then whisper that I have been reported for hacking(LoL), but sometimes they admit they were wrong and that I am just good at the game.
The vehicles are P2W though. If you want to drop some cash on this game buy a dope car. I like the Rhino 4x4.
You never mentioned the glory that is LTL enforcer gameplay. Nothing is as satisfying or rage-inducing to crim scum than stunning your opponent, cuffing them, and then using them as bait to get their teammates. Pure unadulterated fun and hilarity. The stuff crims say to you while you are cuffing them is just too funny.

I've also talked with a GM and asked if they planned to rework the matchmaking and they told me "Yes after the big update we will work torward a new matchmaking system" which is amazing IMO
Percs are a trap. Worst grenade type. Unless you are an arresting officer. If you get killed by percs, you do something wrong.

But... I can not pass by "are premium store wepons all without exception game breakingly overpowered"? Dude... really? How could you possible make such a huge amount of deep and enlightened statements and put this one between them? For the entire 10 years of apb history meta always been around free guns - ntec, nhvr, jg, pmg, and so on. All devs efforts to make armas-exclusive weapon flowed to pieces of crap like Norseman (why the hell it's called Norseman by the way if its Russian Bizon).
There is only 2 cases of actual p2w appearance: OCA Nano and Trouble maker. Second one was dominating so hard that it was ridiculous sometimes. But they both been fixed afterwards anyway. Maybe also pre-nerf scout from 2013 falls in p2w category too, but how many people even remember those times.
Yes, playing without paying may be unconfortable at times. Yes, all this customization system blooms only if you have premium account. Yes, most of the contend (especially new content) only available in "premium store". But it's never been about wepons and actual "pay to win".
I played it for 30 min and got rid of it the intro is vary cools and seems promising then you start the game to see a HD version of Roblox

I have 1500 hrs on the game, i got banned recently because i shared my account with a frnd, still miss it , i had tons of frnds where we enjoyed a lot. I had 51k kills max arrest lvl on HAN server, the lowest player count server on the game.

i mean some weapons have it for me but it differs from person to person; i get ghost shots with a jg sometimes but my friends has no problem with it while he also gets ghost shots with another gun when i don't have any problems with it

Games not p2w and guns don't kill in 3-4 shots, the least amount on a pistol is 5 and most rifles are 6 to kill, p2w isn't a thing due to most guns being reskins and the ones that aren't (which is like 3) aren't game breaking and well balanced

It takes hundreds of hours to unlock something but paying money gets it for you instantly. And the things you buy do give an advantage. Thats why its pay2win.
