For those wondering, this song came out in 1992 and he wrote it about how he was charged with 2 attempted murders in I believe 1989..he was eventually found not guilty. Apparently this video came out while he was still waiting it out in prison and the place went nuts.

I picked Spain. So that meant I had to go to the library, research Spain, get clothes (my grandma helped out with sewing) and I came in a bullfighting costume. I thought it was a really fun project. Have you ever heard of Mudhoney? They're the reason Kurt Kobain tried out for Nirvana but slowly it all started getting radio play (at least in ATL) & captured a wider audience towards the late nineties. PJ Harvey was getting radio play in 95. Snoop's Gin & Juice got hourly play on the radio in 92-93. Megadeath around the same time. Music was just everything then. It was all good. What happened?

Snow is Canadian (as am I) and I remember when this song came out. It was a HUGE hit. He grew up in Toronto and those in his neighobourhood were all from the islands (specifically Jamaica) so it's in his blood. The song is about “Informer” basically as an insult against those who he claimed “snitched on” him, which led to him doing an eight-month bid in the maximum-security Toronto East Detention Center. Owing to this, the hook of the track is based on Snow physically threatening the “informer” who got him locked down.
Finally, someone commenting who actually knows what the song and hook (I lick ya boom boom down) actually refer to.
In Toronto most of the Black people are from the Caribbean. Also races grow up around each other more than in the States. Caribbean patois has an influence, kind of like in England...

Summer of 1992. It was big on New York City radio and was a must as a mobile dj. It's from his album titled "!2 Inches Of Snow" . During that time it seemed like there were many white rappers jumping on the scene. Snow, House of Pain, Lordz of Brooklyn, 3Rd Bass, Kid Rock, Vanilla Ice, and so on. I do think the music of the late 20th century was better than it is today. Great video. Thanks for posting.
