I would probably have thought something similar. Its just sad how much everything is so warped today and what we glorify.
@@jordanhendrick7248 You're completely missing the point. OP is talking about "real" in the sense that Snow was actually singing about things that happened to him, he wasn't just making it up to sound cool. For example, Informer is about being charged and locked up for a murder that he did not commit. Most people at the time had no idea, they just thought it was manufactured persona. It wasn't, he was real.
Jamaica used to be filled with pirates for like 200 years I think that’s where they get a lot of their good free living vibes from that attracts a lot of wild free spirited people from other cultures. I.E. like Snow being Irish an growing up drinking and fighting.
I love stories like this, esp. supposed "one hit wonders" who are still enjoying life and feeling blessed. It's a shame that the music industry is so cutthroat, chewing up and spitting out artists because they "don't hear a hit single". Imagine people like Bob Dylan, Elton John or even Bob Marley trying to come up today?
Those are bad examples because the men you listed also have a stage presence that helped overcome the weaker places in their music, like not making sense (Dylan).

@@weknowbetter592 And I'm guessing you're the type to bump Drake's new dance album and say it's a masterpiece while wearing skinny jeans tryna to make your booty clap.
I was in Middle school, and let me tell ya' he didn't have well
The part of his lyrics that goes "Informer, I went to K-mart for the sale, I like blue light specials as well" really moved me, man! I liked blue light specials too!
kmart is done son
@eazzy blue not back when this song was hot! Dirt roads and k- marts everywhere
@@robsim4692 youre right about that😁
DAM!!! Murder charges as a teen and doing jail time?! I ain't know Snow was real like that.
I think it's attempted murder charges to be precise
That's real
It's really unfortunate that having attempted murder chargers is being "real" in today's society. I know this comment was posted a long time ago and I'm not hating on what you said. I would probably have thought something similar. Its just sad how much everything is so warped today and what we glorify.
@@jordanhendrick7248what is your point
Bloody amazing story! All the Jamaican girls I went to school with [in Canada] loved Snow!
Always loved that track. Never heard Snow speak. Decent guy
I wouldn't say he's a One Hit Wonder per se. He had like 3 or 4 hot songs, although "Informer" was the biggest one.
I was 6 years old when Informer came out. I remember singing it all the time it was my favourite song at the time.
I use to come home from school in the 90s and bump the shit out of “girl I’ve been hurt now I need another lover”
The track had that heavy baseline.
I knew Snow was a good dude, really cool, Kudos to Shan for recognizing him, we loved his music here in Afrika
As a guy who lives in Canada, Toronto ---- this is the artist Snow so nothing else to say, he is still the best.
Man, that early 90/91/92 scene was incredible. Informer was something different. Like a das efx and then came bone. If u like that fast shit, it was the best time to be alive.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when I zsaw “Snow”. There’s a bunch of young ass cats asking “who the fuck is Snow” right now
And those glasses are dope as f@ck
Fair play mate! Cracking tunes you made that can still be played today and sound good!
Anything for you is and will always be my fav song 🇯🇲❤💯
Big tune,i still drop it when i dj👍✊👍💯%💥💥🔥🔥
I was 12 when informer came out. It was awesome!
Man said I can sing "Blablablabla👅"
Had on repeat for a number of days in my teen years: "Girl I've been hurt now I need another lover"
The whole album is very good and still holds up! Girl Ive Been Hurt & Runway are straight bops!
I had a Cassette tape of snow when he came out 12 inches of snow loved his songs back in the day with my cassette player and head phones I though he was a Jamaica the voice but later on I didn’t know he’s from Canada but he broke the barriers back then a white guy who rap and have a reggae voice and had a number one song and album at the time
This dude really think he is a Jamaican immigrant🤣🤣🤣 his accent even changes
This made me realize I need to watch more Snow interviews. The dude is hilarious.
"would you, would you like fries with dat...a hot apple pie with dat"? 🤣🤣🤣
Legend from Toronto. We love this guy.
That’s a whole meme “balbalbalabalala”
Dude is a real talent, back when if you weren’t talented you got kicked to the curb. Respect
Do all white people think Jamaicans sound like that? "AHLABLAHAHBLAH"
Great story!!! I grew up in Toronto and everyone loved that song in the 90’s it was catchy and he basically put Toronto on the map for the urban scene. Along with maestro… shoutout to kardinal
I was like 15/16 when that Informer video was out. 😂
Shan said I heard you can sing let me hear something... blublublublublub 🤣🤣🤣
He’s so charismatic. Great artist too!
Shout out to Queens, NY in the 90s! Thats where I grew up! Silvercup studio is OLD SCHOOL IYKYK
This interview is shaping up to be classic!
When I heard the Daddy Yankee mix and seen Snow in the video I teared up🥲..always loved his track and collabing with one of the best in the Latin music game just made it sweeter, glad DY brought him in it.
Boy with the yard buzzing like that, it would’ve been hard for him if that video did not come on that night!💯
I remember hearing informer,at a frat party in Plattsburgh NY a couple years before it blew up in America
One of the dopest stories in hip hop period!!!
Huh? Check out Bone Thugs story
@@andy1181-l3m Check out Onyx story
@@lofiakai23props74 im very familiar with Onyx and thier story. How they caught Jam Master Jay in traffic. Im a big Onyx fan. Still dont beat Bone’s story imo…I feel like Bone’s story is even better than NWA’s
Bone needs a biopic…only group ever to do songs with Eazy E, Notorious BIG, 2Pac AND Big Pun while they were alive…thats LEGENDARY! And they also worked with Jam Master Jay cuz Flesh-n-Bone was on Def Jam records in 1996…the lead single had Rev Run
Lonely Monday Morning - what a tune. Thanks Snow!
Snow is cool af if like to see him on his own podcast he would kill it
🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲This Guy had a massive impact on Reggae Music the Colab with Bernie Man was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
USE TO BE AT THE POOL JAM IN HIM YO !! GREAT TIMES
One of my favorite albums of all time
Much respect to snow.
Vlad’s channel is like a time machine
There was so many actually great artists to choose from back then.
for me that informer song is just one of thoses songs that will forever give me joy.
Saw this guy live in Victoria. He gave up on the first song, saying the sound was no good. The crowd thought it was fine. But he walked off quite rudely and then Tone-Loc came out and killed it on the same sound system. I think he was pissed about something else other than the sound.
So dope to hear about this stuff from
his perspective!
