  • Charlie talks about her forced adoption at birth, growing up in a violent household, embracing early employment as an escape and coping mechanism, drinking to blackout to numb unwanted emotions, coping with complex PTSD, losing custody of one of her children, and finally establishing a grounding in recovery. Accomplishing the long-held goal of learning to drive increased Charlie's self-confidence and encouraged her to chase her dream of becoming a paramedic. As she continues to work her recovery programme, the future looks bright for this tenacious young lady. #recovery #mentalhealthmatters #recoveringalcoholic #recovered

Well done, Charlie. Beautiful, honest share and well done on passing your driving test too. Best of luck with the rest of your recovery.
