A military friend kept telling me to take cold showers for months. I finally conceded, been talking cold showers for the last 4 months. Sleeping much better now!! The colder the water the deeper I sleep.

@valgal36 my brother was taking cold showers before bed & in the morning after the gym. He said he would sleep well for 2-3 hours and then wake up. Then he started having nightmares. I suggested that he try only taking cold showers in the morning and warm ones at night.
He's good now. Sleeping through the night again, with no nightmares. Not sure why that was his experience. I guess everyone is different in that regard.

A cold shower is good for relieving tension. My shoulders used to be so tense and back was tight from stress. I no longer have that soreness. I THANK GOD for cold water.

For those who say they cannot take a cold shower or do a cold ice bath: Don't just jump into the cold shower. Start by taking your regular warm shower. When you are done put the water on cold. You will get used to it and like it. You will want to take cold shower rather than warm. Do it everyday. Come back and share your experiences. Peace and blessings to you all.🙏🏽❤️

I am a 62 year old, active woman. I have taken a cold shower after my regular shower for years. It makes me more alert, and improves my emotional state. If you have severe itching from mosquito bites, poison ivy, etc. going from very cold to very hot, back and forth, several times, temporarily stops the itching. Thank you for this video. Confirmed my belief in cold showers.

Hello Dr. Price!! My name is Michelle and I am also a pharmacist. I have MS and I "accidentally", via a power outage in the winter experienced the unexpected neurologic calming effects of an ice cold shower. It was shocking in every way initially, but over time, my mind and body calmed down. Although I am completely mobile, I noticed an improvement in not only mobility, buy the connection between my mind and extremity that I desired to move. Thanks for doing this video!😊

I only take cold showers. When i used to go to a job, i took my shower at 3:30 am, my ride came 3:45 which was always a rush but at my desk at 8am which was 100 miles distance. The cold shower invigorated me. I felt good for the rest of each day, really energized. I still take a cold one but not so early anymore

I started doing them to help with my depression and I see the difference in my mood when I take cold showers versus when I don’t … my mood is much better when I do cold showers then when I don’t and some of their other ones you speak of like hair skin and waistline I see a difference too but I also started working out and eating better at same time so idk if it came from the shower but my hair is growing and my skin glowing even more than normal like I get asked if I was in the sun a lot by people now

I have been taking cold showers all my life and I am 24. I think now things are making sense from what Dr. Bobby has talked about. I think the most outstanding one for me is that it releases stress. Whenever I am stressed out and I shower cold water I feel good and calm immediately.
Another thing it helps me in is with sleep. This is because I get into bed few minutes after taking the shower. Since the body can have already created the heat I take the heat into the blanket and I feel cozy hence sleep 😴.
I can also testify to the glowing skin🥰

Another important benefit of taking cold showers from research I’ve done… the hotter the water the more bacteria 🦠 or unclean water is absorbed into the skin… colder the water the least amount the skin absorbs -in addition to using a water filter on the shower helps to limit contamination as well.
15:40 you talked about stress and i found in research that by starting your day with a cold shower bc it shocks (stress) your body so that throughout the day when you experience stress it will deal with it better.

I’ve been turning my shower all the way to cold at the end for a while now after my workouts and most days. I’ve only gotten to about 45 seconds to a minute but I really like the idea of switching back to warm and then back to cold again. I definitely notice some of the benefits you mentioned. Also, I feel invigorated and uplifted and more ready to get a move on my morning! I like to talk to my body before hand and tell it it’s going to feel alive and revived and it’s going to be ok and then I count down and it definitely helps! Once I was in the habit of turning my shower to cold at the end, I forgot to do the prep-talk and I definitely was more in shock and scrambling to turn the water back to warm, so remembering the prep talk works well for me. Thanks for the info and tips! 🙌🏼

I'm a minimalist (aka, lazy?).. I think of it as "using the water in the pipes" during the summer months, so it's not ice water, but just turning the tap to "cold" gives my body a good challenge in the summer months. It also helps re-set body temperature if it becomes disregulated going from A/C to outdoors, back and forth all day.

I have always been trying to eat as healthy as I can. Recently went through and still going through an interesting journey in my life. I have lost 40-45 lbs and I think my body went into overdrive to save my life and kinda did it’s own detox. I never found out what is wrong and still going through it. Doctors say anxiety, and my blood test and scans appears to be normal. My question is can I do your detox program and be safe after going through this?
If this is truly anxiety being stuck on flight and fight sucks and I would love to know if you have helped someone overcome my situation!

💕Very timely for this video to ask this question. I take the cold water showers. I am only able to do this in the summer when temperatures are up. This past Friday at the end of my cold shower my nose started bleeding profusely. I felt weakened and took a short resthowever, I had to make a class. I took my time getting there and was late. After class I walked a good distance in the sunshine, not taking a crosstown bus, When I got home I felt revitalized and had no issues. What do you think may have caused this nosebleed? The air quality in NYC has been majorly unhealthy...I ‘ve been taking mullein leaf tea and the fortified center of the pineapple (bromelin) to purge the pollutants...

  • @jason7638
    @jason7638 ปีที่แล้ว

I first got put on to this with Wim Hof. This along with his breathing method. I dont know if youve tried his breathing method. Its on TH-cam. There are 2 versions. A fast one and another one for those who cant keep up to the fast breathing one.
Bro its crazy and I believe in it now after trying it. You gotta try it if you haven't yet. The one where you breathe all the way in from the center and let the air release slowly back to the center again 30 times and after the 30th inhale all the way in, you release the air back to the center, not all the way out and you now hold the breath there at the center for as long as you can.
Once you have to breathe, from the center, you breathe back all the way in from there and hold your air again and then release and repeat the cycle again. I think the Wim Hof app is still available. I remember i did like 6-7-8 rounds back to back. Its incredible if you do it right, what you will feel especially when you're holding the breath after the 30 inhales.
This cool starts to fill all of your blood and every cell. Its an amazing feeling and i just know it is crazy healthy for you. This method prepares the body even more for cold showers and cold temperatures. If you stay consistent with it, you will start wearing less layerings in the winter. Your body will adapt to the colder weathers.
When others are freezing your body will be warm on the inside. You will feel the cold on the outside but not really on the inside. Its really interesting. I want to get back into this. I got away from it. Bro im into just about everything that you teach, if not every single thing.

I agree with all of what you said. I have joint pain from gout at times and I apply heat for 20 minutes and then ice for 5 minutes. I alternate several times and usually the pain is gone

the best way to start off in my opinion is to to start off hot then slow adjust it to cold. Do that for about a week then eventually you'll be able to take a full cold shower. I was able to on my 2nd day but everybody is not the same. Being doing it for about 4 years now.

Good list because most of the benefits are true. Instant pain relief. You don't even need to do it more than like 2 minutes. It's great!

Started doing early morning cold plunges in lake Michigan in the winter of 2022, recently had to stop due to increased water temperature (water was to warm to be considered a cold plunge) but I'm hoping to start again as soon as temperatures drop.

I've been doing it now religiously for the last two months. I thank Wim Hof for the inspiration. He has a great book and I highly recommend everyone to read it. Dr Price you are so correct. Also just recently started following you as I like a lot of the things you teach me so please keep sharing your wisdom! 👊 Andrew G from Scotland over and out.

A Detroit cuz sent me this vid after I'd sent her a podcast on this topic. I've been taking cold showers for about a month or so (also in a Maryland spa, taking a 59 degree cold plunge, alternating with a steamroom). My results are amazing, too numerous to get into detail. I'm contemplating Polar Bear membership. Lol.
