Guys, dont waste your money, the latest version of Android Auto will not support any media players except audio files (via Fermata Control ). Fermata auto is not displayed in the car unit ( only Fermata Control is displayed )eventhough it is download and installed in the phone. So don't waste money, i tried to install April version of AA, but installation failed! So struck with latest AA which is useless for AAAD apps.

I didn't want to root my phone, after endless tries of trying different things without rooting, i gave up and thought that I might root and use the apps I wanted to in AA. Glad that i came across this video at the last moment just before proceeding to root my phone. Thanks a lot :)
Yes it works. Follow instructions just like video says. Anyone who says some BS about apps needing root or phone needing root and that it doesn't work just didn't install and configure correctly. Now, it's buggy, for sure. It doesn't like to shut down and restart correctly and it also gets confused when Spotify was last used. So typical functional software bugs dealing with the interfacing with OS and other apps, software settings, etc. I had to shutdown all apps and even restart my phone to get the GUI to start up correctly in android auto. So, starting and stopping videos, switching active apps on Android Auto, etc can cause bugs to show. It's definitely not refined. But, you can get it to work, just down expect it be polished like other 'official' android auto apps. Installed on Android 11, in North America, with all other apps updated.
What you say is correct. They are not official apps and of course they are full of bugs. But they allow you to use new features on Android Auto without having a rooted phone.
@@socializziamonet another one I found today is when the I've got TH-cam playing a video but I had previously had Spotify running. When I selected formata and ran Spotify it left Spotify in the background. So then, when I went to adjust the volume for the you tube video it switched the audio back to Spotify. So 1. Fix so when formata auto is selected it takes priority and/or shuts down any other app that was running just prior. Additionally, check that the volume control is always linked to active formata auto. Two birds, one stone likely.

Unfortunately, with the latest version of Android Auto and with Android 11 it no longer works. To fix the problem you need to uninstall the latest version and install a previous version. I will make a video soon.

After following the video instructions like I did. Use your brain. Install fermata auto. Then connect the phone to your car android auto. Then in android auto click buttons labeled fermata. It's super complicated. JK.
I have AA 6.5xxx also I have the FA pro version. It does work nor shows on the car screen. I have Car Tube (not pro) that shows on the screen but does not work. I am not able to downgrade AA. ant suggestions?
With versions after 6.3 of AA these apps don't work. It would appear that with version 6.6 they are working again. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but will shortly.

android auto requires Bluetooth even though its plugged in to USB. you wont be able to connect the second phone while your first phone is connected to android auto

With Android 11 and the latest versions of Android Auto, it doesn't work. You need to downgrade Android Auto.

You just have to click the download bar again. It's a crude check to make sure you want to install.

I am not sure why you say no root required. Sure you can install AAAD but all of the apps that it runs need to be rooted in order to work on AA

CarStream works with Android Auto 6.3 only. I did uninstall the AA 6.4, download the AA 6.3, install. Works well now!
