These are timeless cars, my brother had a black 2005 Acura TL when it was almost new, I remember being amazed by the navigation system when I was a kid (navigation in 2005 was crazy.. at least to me lol). The designs hold up incredibly well today the older and newer ones. If I wanted to splurge on a car this would be on the top of the list..
Just bought a 2018 sh-awd tlx… I am usually a Mercedes w211 guy, but this awd is awesome! The tlx is heavy and smooth like my e350 4matic… I did no research until I drove off the lot! And I’m impressed…
I own both a 2013 TL and a 2019 TLX with the 2.4 L A-Spec and both cars have been very reliable. I have only done regular maintenance. The TLX is very smooth and a quiet ride and I know some people don't like the Infotainment setup, but, to me it works fine. I don't need a touchscreen Navigation system. And the 2.4 L engine is all you need. It's great on gas and that is what matters to me. Comfortable, reliability and gas mileage. Low maintenance costs the V6 is a little higher in this department. Due to the Timing belt.
I bought a 202 TLC Base model, and I love it!! This is my 4th Acura and it rides smooth and looks good. It has everthing I need and worth the price I paid for it as a used, pre-owned, certified Acura. I am waiting for the recall issue to be fixed, but so far no problems. I also love that I have the cd option to still listen to my 💿 cos. I'm old school, but what can I say. This was a plus for me as well with the 2020 TLX.
How long have you had it? I actually want to get one, I prefer the 3.5. But I've become president after hearing negative things about the transmission. I currently have 15 mdx
My 2020 Acura TLX with 4-cylinder engine is pretty reliable. No major issues; some minor interior parts became loose, but that about it. I was thinking to get the newer TLX or another Acura vehicle, but I didn't like their touchpad and rather deal with this dated dual touch screen in my car lol.
Be careful with the v6 AWD models, I had to replace my transmission at 112k because the transmission cooler leaked and mixed coolant with transmission fluid, the part has been superseded so preventative maintenance is recommended
All the V6 transmission are garbage, plus the engines have rod knock there is a recall in the V6's be warned. If you want worry free maintenance, get the 2.4 engine with the 8speed DCT, they are bulletproof
With all the recalls pretty much have a new car besides the exterior and interior. I own the V6 and it’s low maintenance. Not very costly. Only complaint is how slow it shifts when in “sport plus” mode. It’s not as direct.
I got a 2018 tlx aspec I bought recently. The high pressure fuel pump randomly went out had to pay to get that fixed. seems like alot of others are starting to have this same issue looking through Facebook groups. So I think a new problem coming down the line for people will be the high pressure fuel pump causing a loud noise in the cabin
Boss, I’ve watched your other videos on the TLX in hopes of seeing a type S drivers review. What are you thoughts on the type s? Personally, I know it’s a new engine and I’m a bit weary to jump into one, but everything else seems perfect to me and what I want. That being said I’m also looking at an IS500. I know you’re a big Lexus guy as well. Just curious about your thoughts on both. Thanks!
05 RSX-S 140,000 miles 15 TLX 180,000 miles without major problem. its hard to consider other brands if you experience honda acura. I've always wanted german cars and I still do, but It is too expensive to take care of them. New vehicles are expensive though, thinking to try Lexus if thats the case.
I’m looking to buy a 2018 ACURA TLX a spec with tech package and sh-awd system with about 90,000 miles anything special you think I should look out for??
Damn I was lowkey looking into buying the v6 awd 2016 tlx since I want a different type of car my 2010 mdx chugs gas but I love the way it drives was hoping this would kinda satisfy that so 2016 is a no go?
I have an Acura tlx 2015 sh-awd with 126k, engine is strong even tho it has the recall but the transmission is Jerzy from 2nd 3rd and 4th gear. I am sincerely scared for the car. Should I drive till it dies or should I complain to Acura ? Or how can I fix this problem?
Hey brother def curious to get your thoughts on the TLX, I think they did a great job in offering a well priced product that looks good but def want to hear from you!
See my 2024 Acura TLX Video here: th-cam.com/video/iLpxXVn0mvI/w-d-xo.html
I have a 2015 TLX 4cyl. It's at 110,000Miles and has been realiable the entire time. Only changed batteries twice and regular oil/brakes/tires.
3 batteries for 110,000 miles ?
@@Ecuador006 yeah on my third battery now. No major mechanical problems, at least not yet
You should replace it with an AGM battery that will solve that problem. I have the same car only changed the battery once.
A battery needs to be fully charged at least 2 x a year with an external charger.
Mines is a 2016. 200k miles. No problems whatsoever

Yea I loved that 05 generation of the TL looks good even today. TLX is nice well priced in the market for what it is and what it's offering

My w211 just gave out on me at 250k miles, Thinking about a TLX as well!
They may not be appreciated by those wanting street cred, but it’s appreciated by everyone who’s rode and driven one!
The hood has always loved TLs TLXs where I'm from lol
Drove 015 today
The TLX is a great car. I don't have anything negative to say about it.
Yea my friend I'm a fan of the TLX
They're pretty much taking over for the RLs

Be careful with the v6 AWD models, I had to replace my transmission at 112k because the transmission cooler leaked and mixed coolant with transmission fluid, the part has been superseded so preventative maintenance is recommended
How much u paid to replace it?
What made you check it out? Was the transmission slipping?
Is that anything that could be preventable?
What year did you have?

I have a 2009 Acura RL with 220,997 miles and it runs great.
Great vid. Have a 2020 TLX. Waiting on the recall fix.
I have a 2020 4 cylinder. Is your recall having to do with the seat sensor? Did you get a mail from Acura?
Got a '16 3.5 with 50k and its been reliable, the German transmission is great as well.
2020 Tlx flawless performance dealer replacement bearings under warranty. No issues for 4 years
I had the 2015 4cyl ad my first car my favorite car to date
Nice!
I've got an 06 RL (230k miles) lookin for my next car. I was lookin at ILXs for the price, but I think I'm gonna aim up a bit
I really like the looks of this vehicle, ended up with a 16 avalon limited only due to some sketchy dealers.
With all the recalls pretty much have a new car besides the exterior and interior. I own the V6 and it’s low maintenance. Not very costly. Only complaint is how slow it shifts when in “sport plus” mode. It’s not as direct.
That’s what happens with all these electronic cars.
How many miles currently? I'd like the V6 but someone cautioned me about the transmission which I haven't heard before.
Yes! I was wondering if you were going to make this video lol
I hope this video is valuable to you my friend!

There was a recall out for this issue you can have Acura reimburse you the money if you qualify under the recall
@@zacharyarnasalamnaaah the recall is for the low pressure sadly not the high pressure. 😔

You are in luck my friend, I’m going to test the Type S very soon and post a full reviee
You cant go wrong with an acura/honda product

❤❤❤❤ never said better my friend 💪🏽💪🏽
This is a fantastically informative video. Honestly, based on all this info, I would say these aren't worth owning for the price.
Glad it was helpful!
Anybody buy a v6 1st gen with the recalls done still alive til this day?
Like I said in you review it's kinda a shame these didn't come to Oz.
Yea my friend it's a great value product both new and CPO and please keep me posted on any updates regarding your health 👍

ATF change!!!
2015 tlx with 80k miles for 12k is it worth it
I'm looking at one with 90k for 15k. It's certified pre-owned. Looking at it today.
Prices on these are surprising. Around 60,000 miles is the same price as a 150,000 mile Lexus is350/gs350
Exactly
They are cheaper for a reason
