The best way to own a car is to drive it into the ground. Keep that baby around if she's doing her job. We have a 08' Accord and it's been great besides some problems from being in the Florida heat all day and few issues from being a first year. All covered under warranty though. Do you have the 2.4L Inline-4 or the 3.3L V6?
I had a 2021 TLX aspec, I also had some issues with the speakers having a crackling sound on the driver side. a creaking sound above the rear seats in the roof. Apple carplay would sometimes freeze and disconnect randomly. The screen would sometimes reboot randomly as well. Had it for a year and 10k miles and traded it in. I think the issues are usually associated with first model year units usually having problems. I will say the ELS sound system was incredible. LOVED it! probably my fav thing about the car.
I bought a 21 TLX and had a similar experience with the brakes. Had the car on adaptive cruise and the car in front put on brakes hard. My car braked hard enough to scare me , as there was a car on the side of the road stopped. My lane keep made the steering wheel wobble and the car came to a complete stop. Other than that, the brakes and the car feels amazing. Bought mine with 30k black on black, i call it the batmobile 😮
My brakes recently have been a bit louder again, the electro servo system. I'm not sure why but brake pressure feels fine? The assistance features do scare me from time to time. The LKAS in this and my old 19' Honda CR-V can get finicky and it gets annoying thinking I'm not driving straight because it sees a jagged line or tire marks. Major thing I had for a while is auto start stop stopped working but I think it may have been from jumping a co-workers car. Recently did an oil change at Valvoline and I guess when they tested my battery they charged it and it's back to normal. Only thing not working right now is puddle lights but I haven't bothered. I have a muffler delete, cold air intake, and plan to tune and do a RV6 downpipe and I don't know if they'll void my warranty.
Cool video…I just bought a 2021 TLX haven’t had any of those issues, I’m curious if the dealer can’t fix that brake noise who can & is it something you can learn to live with. Because I don’t know if I can?…lol
I’ve heard some shady things about some dealers refusing to do anything but if it’s really loud it should be an issue they can fix but it will ALWAYS be audible just because of all the electronics they put in these cars
@@TastyRides Okay thanks good to know haven’t heard anything yet. I bought it on Saturday. The brakes going out is crazy hope that definitely doesn’t happen to me. But thanks again & drive safe bro!
I'm glad they didn't because they might've killed the 2.0T the way they did with the accord. Also get headaches for some reason but it's great for those who don't need all the power and rather take the savings I guess. Would love for a Acura made V8 in a TLX, would be awesome.
Just bought the SAME EXACT TLX on Saturday from Delray Honda. Same color, same red interior, only 19k miles, 1 owner, no accidents - absolutely MINT except for a little wrinkle where your right elbow sits on the center console. I got a great deal for $32,800 out-the-door (after taxes, fees, registration, etc.). I haven't noticed anything yet, but I'll be on the lookout for the things you mentioned in this video.
Nice brother! Hope you enjoy the ride. I hope you don’t get any of the issues I’ve had because it definitely was a bit of a headache but luckily most of it’s fixed. I actually have two issues at the moment with auto start stop not working and having the Acura voice assistant toggling on and reducing sound of music while blocking the middle UI pretty much every time I drive, all I have to do is press the voice recognition button and press it back to disable but it’s definitely annoying.
Yeah, so I have had the 2021 tlx aspec awd since its release I've had the fakra adapters replaced three times. Clicking sound when accelerating went away and then would come back after a couple months. The third time, they found multiple loose ground connections when replacing the entire harness. At 7,000 miles, the steering rack needed to be replaced. Then, the rear differential was leaking at axle at 15,000 miles. Brakes, good luck. Tech told me they put to small pads and rotors, so basically, at 7,000 miles, I need new rotors/ pads. I will get pulsing in steering wheel when braking off highway and brakes will start to squeek at low speeds if it is started after sitting for 30 min. Everything has been good besides the acura airbag recall which keeps popping up in acura app. Brought it in and was told the part is currently being produced. Puddle lights though have been good after three replacements. Its been a year and both are working.
Have they done the extended run for the FARKA the last time they replaced them? And damn, it sounds like you got an early production vehicle, glad to hear you finally have everything sorted out.
@Terruu16 After 3 fakra replacements I just kept recording videos of it crackling. They finally agreed to replace harness. While replacing they found the lose grounds. They said they made sure when installing the harness there was enough slack by the fakra. It hasn't crackled since wire harness replacement.
If you're changing your puddle lights swap them with the new gen pilot puddle lights they work the same and are far more reliable than the OEM tlx puddle lights
I heard the TLX has two part numbers, one being the o.g. and the new one being an updated part without the reliability issues but I'll keep this in mind
I have the 21 Type S as well, I had a moaning noise while turning right I was told it's the drive by wire braking system, fakra replaced, puddle lights & pretty much that's about it, all those were fixed miles ago I now have a little over 42k
Only issue I've had recently still is puddle lights (haven't been to the dealership since first visit), and auto start stop didn't work for months and when I went for an oil change at Valvoline they told me my battery was bad and I guess they charged it and it got fixed?
@@TastyRides Yup that sounds about right there's a history with Acura batteries failing early it happened as far back with my 12 TL & now with the Type S as well
i just bought one, i live in ohio where they are assembled but i got one with 15k less miles but a lot more expensive. i wonder if they knew some of the issues with the car when you purchased and thats why it was only $20k
I have a GR Corolla CE. I wanted the TLX Type S for a long time. But idk why that car was done soooo poorly. Such an amazing car but ehh. Im in South Florida as well man (Miami)
What about it was done poorly in your opinion? I love the car I just wish I knew about the SH-AWD when I was in the market looking for a new car. Other than that, 0 regrets. Would love to own a Type S though, 2024+ refresh. Also GR Corolla is badass, hope you're loving the ride. Sick engine configuration.
Most def would of bought one for sure. Anyways. Not bashing on the car at all. I still love the Type S TLX. But i guess it just passed through me. One of those you not thinking at the time of purchase 🤣🤣🤣 yes the GR is a fun car. But also has its flaws
Honda/Acura is reliable, but the first year of any new generation for any automaker is bound to have issues. Would agree that more electronics does not equal more better but this car in 2022-2023 and the new 2024+ mid-cycle refresh have been super reliable from what I've heard from other TLX owners
@@TastyRides Even beyond the first model year, the Civic and Integra have been having numerous issues. From build quality (leaking hatch, valve cover gasket leaks) to a recall and another NHTSA investigation pending on the steering rack alone. A large number of owners being left with rentals for months with no end in sight. With Acura moving away from the touch-pad touchscreen interface in the future, it's unlikely they're interested in fixing anymore issues that might pop up. I wouldn't bother with them
@@chhoyla I've been lucky. My integra doesn't have any of those issues. The only thing that periodically happens is that the wireless carplay music picture gets stuck periodically in the middle of the speedometer.

@@TastyRides You are so off on this. Speed kills. That is why it is against the law. My buddy killed his mom in an accident. He didn’t get a ticket either.
Why would you buy a used car from a dealer that states they have a 180 point inspection(probably never happened) that stipulates you cant sue for a lemon within the 30 days that they will fix whatever issue presents itself??? If they are scared of that liability, there is a reason for it!
Honda Certified Pre-Owned at all dealerships have a 182-point Inspection "Multi-Point Inspection", it's apart of the program for them to try and sell more used vehicles because of their warranty is extended to vehicles with higher mileage. The 30-day period is for returning the vehicle or dealership having to repair all issues being apart of lemon law protections. They way I said it made it seem more dramatized but that's a standard practice. Now I would've liked it if the brake booster worked perfectly after I took it out on the road the first few weeks but it seems to be something that went bad after words as the brake pressure was fine when I first drove it off the lot, it works fine now.
I mean why wouldn’t you? You take the car to a separate mechanic afterwards and if they find anything wrong it’ll be covered. Also you can beat on the car the first 30 days to see if something is about to go out and get it covered.
Acura will never figure out how to precision craft a puddle light ………………….. ever. This has been going on since 2015! Don’t bother getting your factory inner door trim torn out and your mirror assembly ripped apart to replace the puddle light “cuz” it WILL FAIL ……….. in a matter of days, weeks if you’re lucky. 😠
See.. Stuff like this is why I keep my 2013 TL SHawd. My LED aftermarket puddle lights are mounted inside the door near the bottom. Easy to change.. Paid $40.00 on eBay years ago and they just work and look great..
There a separate part number of one that works that came out after the release of the 2nd gen 1st year but I don't wanna bother. I do wanna open the mirror cap assembly anyways because I am considering a M style carbon mirror cap, had some friends say its cool, others say its cringe... But yeah, I don't know what that's about

Does your tlx make a popping sound when you go back and forth while parking? Or a rattle when you go over some bumps in the road?
