    Hey, thank you for your very informative video. I have applied to student finance disability allowance but I am scared about the needs assessment. My SPLD assessment wasn’t the best, I felt very judged. Could you please tell me more about how the needs assessment go?

    can you get any equipment before you enroll into the course? i’ve got the letter letting me what i can get but idk if i should contact the supplier or not. Thanks ☺️

      Mine arrived about 2 weeks before the course started so you can get things before the course starts. If you mean you personally buy things, you can but you may not get it refunded and any laptops have to be sent off for the software to be imported. If you have a letter I would contact the supplier to get the ball rolling. I hope this helps x

    Hii when you mean by 'not like student finance and you don't need to pay it back' do you mean you get equipment and maintenance loan and a tuition loan payed for you and you don't pay that back??

    • @MollyRoseYT
      @MollyRoseYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      The disabled students allowance you contribute £100/200 minimum (I cant remember the exact amount) towards equipment and other bits. Any further cost is covered and doesn't have to be payed back. Maintenence and tuition you have to pay for, so after the contribution towards the stuff you don't have to pay. Hope this helps 😊

    Hello thanks for this. If I need extra support such as tutoring can this be done through a external organisation or is it only exclusive to using university staff and tutors ?

    How was your dyslexia diagnosis worded in your conclusion? just trying to get my head around my report. Thank you!

    • @MollyRoseYT
      @MollyRoseYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone with dyslexia is different, so reports can be worded differently, it also depends on the professional that diagnosed you as to how they write certain things. If there is anything you don't understand in your report maybe go back to the professional to further understand. I hope this helps and sorry I can't be more help x

      @MollyRoseYT  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A cheap little lenovo one (it does a job but if you have a specific one in might you can ask for that one! My friend got a Microsoft surface one but had to pay extra). I can try and find the specific make for you once I figure out how 😊

      Hello Hun they said to me I pay £200 for the laptop they will pay £100 towards it I wanted an apple Mac the cheapest one £100 isn't going to get me far because I have software too and printer

    • @MollyRoseYT
      @MollyRoseYT  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So the way how it worked with me is I paid 200 which covered the fees of everything and due to the allowance everything else was covered. If I wanted to upgrade the laptop for example the 200 would cover the printer and extras and I would pay more money on top of the 200 to upgrade it but I would still get all the stuff just pay an extra 200 so 400 total to get a better laptop. I hope this helps! Maybe contact them again if you are willing to pay more towards the laptop to get the mac and hopefully they can organise this with you. Sorry I can't be more help x

      I believe it goes to the uni, you talk with you DSA advisor on what you need and they talk you though it. Then they claim back the money from DSA I think.

      Hi, there are a few available but Read & Write and ClaroRead are the top 2 recommended via DSA

    Is this allowance admissible for non citizen UK disabled international students ?

    • @MollyRoseYT
      @MollyRoseYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      The UK government website states:
      You cannot get DSA from Student Finance England if you’re:
      an EU student who is eligible for fee support only
      I believe you also have to live in England when you apply. To be completely honest with you I am unsure, so will do a little more research and get back to you 😊

    • @MollyRoseYT
      @MollyRoseYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've found another website which states:
      Is DSA available to international students?
      DSA is only available to students who are ordinarily resident in the UK. If you’re ordinarily resident in another country then you will not qualify for DSA.
      So unfortunately I don't think you would be eligible, if you are going to university I would email their disability services and explain and they may be able to offer further support and help

      @@MollyRoseYT Thank you so much for your quick response and your kind words.
      Actually i am from Pakistan and a person with disability. I am going to be done my masters from UK. It is pertinent to mentioned here that you may kindly provide me some more information about the logistic support which are currently providing UK Government to international disabled students. You may also know the scholarships for which is providing the UK Universities for these persons.

    • @MollyRoseYT
      @MollyRoseYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I am unsure of which scholarships are avaliable to international students like yourself. If I were you I would access the universities that you are interested in and contact disability support or email the university directly and explain/ask what is avaliable to you, I will link some further helpful websites for you to look at. Sorry I couldn't be more help and I hope your studies go well 😊
