Hi! As this was a while ago I can’t remember now, and I’m sure the software will change or be updated, and it’ll depend on what your own personal needs are
When did you apply originally and how long did the whole process take ? I am planning to apply this week for September to hopefully get in a bit earlier. Although I have a physical disability so not sure if the process is slightly different.
I think the process might be slightly diff for physical illnesses but I know you still have an assessment where you say what you struggle with bc of your disabilities. They say it can take up to 14 weeks so sooner is definitely the best :) x
Hey sweetie ,I need to apply for DSA as well but it says I need an advisor to fill in a certain section ?I don't have an advisor do I just skip that part?
Hi. I have dyslexia. And applied for DSA only 2 weeks ago, How long did it take for you to get an email to approve your DSA application. Kinda getting worried mine wont come in before I go to Uni in Septwon't.
Hi! I’m not sure about upgrading your laptop I’d get in contact with the suppliers of your original laptop that DSA gave you, and depending on what you buy, you buy it and then send your receipts to sfe and they reimburse you, or if it’s equipment like a printer, they just send you one and pick one for you:)
So you have to buy the stuff yourself and then get the money back? instead of them just buying what you need. What if you havent got the money to buy it in the first place seems a bit pointless to me
Thank you so much! 💓. Can i please ask you a question? Do you get any direct money because of your condition? I have a mental condition and i thought dva gave you a certain money every year? Correct me if im wrong. If they dont then who gives
Hi no they don’t give you any money, but it costs them money to give you whatever they give you, so you get moneys worth just you get the product instead if that makes sense
I have a disability in my right hand called ' Symbrachydactyly ' Can I apply for undergraduate ? PS : I have got gpa 5 out of 5 in my math, physics, chemistry, biology subjects I'm from Bangladesh and I don't have any idea about the international disable students . Hope that you will tell me the process what should I do now Thanks in advance :)
Hi yes you can apply undergraduate if you have the grades required for your course! Also I’m not sure how international students funding works as I don’t think you have student finance. For the disability service of the uni I assume they can still support you
@@nurmithu7276 no it’s not so you get your own personal allowance so for example I have a mentor and that costs around 3k a year (can’t remember exactly) so the DSA pay the mentor company but that 3k would come out of the max total which I think is £23k

thank you I needed this, I recently found out that I am dyslexic and was advised to apply for dsa
Glad it was helpful! also completely recommend applying for it. :)
Thank you for this. I'm applying based on both physical and mental health issues and have been worried about what the assessment would require!
Try not to worry about the assessment as they are just trying to help you get the most appropriate support :) x
Really helpful video for someone who is in the application phase!! Whatlearning support softwares were you given access to?

It took quite a while, I’m sure you’ll get it sorted before uni starts
@PhoebeJones I got mine all sorted know. And got a training session to learn about the software I got from my dsa assessment
Hey just curious. If I wanna upgrade my laptop how do I go about doing it. Lastly, how do you actually buy things through them? Thanks for the video

Can you use your dsa fund to pay for your tuition fee?
No
@@PhoebeJones damn. Imma do an apprenticeship now LOL.
