I have the 2022 same bike and change the front sprocket recently 16T and is a big difference in the highway. it will make your speedo read 5 miles less but makes a tremendous difference on the RPMs the bike's engine feels a lot more comfortable for long rides. First gear is more useable is not as short and all gears are a little longer but the most significant change is in first gear and 6th, you can do around 80mph seating comfortably with a 6%+ RPM drop. Vibrations were noticeable on the previous models not on the 2022 and on.
Yeah I may try it and compare the difference, I ride offroad quite a bit so it would be interesting to see if it hurts that in someway. I did about 600 miles last weekend as it sits and it worked out beautifully. I love this bike! Thanks for watching!
I would not do it, that just hurts performance and revs less, bike is geared fine from factory, I would rather have even shorter gears, not longer like with 16T. 80/90 is fine right now in 6th gear, do not see a problem on the highway. Off road, short 1st gear is amazing.
@@jutjub22 I have tried both 15t in from and 39 in back and 16t front and 41 in the back and it has not hurt performance at all I have done plenty of the trans American trail and a trip from Miami to Oregon twice the first time stock and second time with the 16T on it loaded with gear and my girlfriend in the back and I have found that the gears are more useful and Highway performance is better. This is not a high performance bike keep that in mind. For longevity of the engine I believe that lower RPMs will help quite a bit and performance in this case torque will not be change drastically. There is plenty of evidence out there supporting the 16T in front as well as 39T in the back.
@@Indigo_travels_usa depends what suits your riding style. I like high rpm and using 6000-9000 rpm range the most. Power is there. I do not think longevity is better when lugging engine more, that is what 16T does to some degree, it puts more stress in lower rpm. High rpm can be easier on transmission. But all is fine I guess. Just comes down to preferences.
I’m surprised to hear that people complain about highway speeds on the CB 500 X. I rode your bike at high speeds, and I don’t see why you couldn’t sit on that thing all day long. We both would rather have been riding that CB as opposed to our Honda singles on the way home from Georgia. 😂
Agreed it also sounds better when I have the mic next to my mouth but I had it set up for picking up my riding partners audio through the cardo so it was farther from my mouth.
I wear custom fit earplugs. I agree the sound at highway speeds is awful, but these tires are amazing off road including super soft sugar sand and in the rain. They also will outlast most other tires brands in wear so it's a trade off.
What screen have you put on it and does it eliminate the buffeting? Great video again as always.
You can try to replace the rear sprocket to 40T. You have -2.5% torque but gain 2.5% speed and a better reading to the speedo.

@@jutjub22your right for a high performance bike yes but for a bike that redlines around 8600rpms I don’t know how that theory would work

Yeah definitely, this bike is a cheat code compared to single cylinder bikes 🤣
Audio is quite terrible, maybe consider doing voice over next time?

Are those tires making that whining sound. That’s awful 😢
How can you possibly evaluate the highway performance with that noise. ? Intolerable.

wow, thats an audio disaster.
