Semplicemente fantastico, il video è veramente bello e la tua tecnica di fare i loops è meravigliosa. * Simply fantastic, the video is really nice and your technique to make the loops is wonderful.
This is excellent. The method how you joining end loop sides is what i was missing till now :) Now my strings would be even better than before. Thanx mate for that. Do you advice to prewax thread while go arround jig posts? Burnishing would be better with waxed threads, right? Please shed some light here :) Cheers mate
Hey Evan thanks for posting the video. This is my favourite way of making the transition as there’s no double serving under the limbs and it looks really good. Only problem that I tend to have is after longer use on transition and main loop serving tend to slide down and expose a bit of main material. Would you happen to know why is that happening? Maybe I’m serving it to tightly or not tightly enough?
I had the same trouble to start with. I think it's as the loops expand they just prise the serving open doesn't seem to matter how tight you serve it still happens. I have found a way to combat this but I'm afraid it's a trade secret!!
Any reason you served second loop other way around and switched direction for just string part of serving? First loop right to left, second left to right.
Hi, great video, very instructional. Relaxing too :) I'm sure I'll be referring to it when I start making my own strings. When you add twists to the string as you close the loops up @3:35 you seem to be turning something off camera. Do you have some kind of tool for adding the twists and holding them in place? Thanks.
i am new to the subject and have been watching multiple videos, i had the same thought that you used. why not mark your end loops with a pen or marker, but i was sitting there, would that have any side effect or lead to any altercations with the string?
Hi Christian I find the serving hold better on a twisted string as when you twist the string to achieve your bracing it can loosen the servings. I put the twists in the direction that winds the arcing on to the string. Hope that helped. Chris.
Always happy to help. Thanks for the complement on the music. Unfortunately my piano playing is none existent it was some free music that came with my editing software.
Basically one long piece of wood. Long enough u make your longest string on. Slot cut in one end down to half way and holes on the other end about 1" apart. Then two smaller bits to hold the posts mine are about 11 or 12" I think glue the metal rods in at the ends and Then hole in the middle for a bolt washer and wing nut on the top. Hope this helped.
nice job but that's the problem with all continous loop bowstrings. they are the weakest at the loop where it counts. they use half the strands unlike Flemish twist that uses full strands at loops.
Hi Naomi, I can't remember the exact material the string was made with now but most likely Fast flight Plus or BCY 8123G. The serving is Soft Twist No. 4. I use a Beiter serving toll which I have installed the metal professional rollers into and the jig I was using was made by a neighbour. I now use a jig made by KG Archery.
I just finished my Pistol Crossbow string. What took me 30+ mins per serving by hand............ took you 2 mins. Wish i had seen this first. Popped up in my recommendations after the fact. 🙄🙄🙄
Wow... Best video ever of this subject. No Ego! Just plain simple direct and exact. Thank you so very much for this beautiful example of how to...
Thanks

@@chrisevansgarden hi, are the blue and white strings made from different materials? what are they called?
Super clear. Well done. I just listen to your audio while I'm making xbow strings... "Vintage Frames" by Kai Engel I believe. Thanks, J-

Мастер своего дела, супер. 👍👍👍
which server jig are you using? also did you make your own string jig? It looks beautiful.
are the blue and white strings made from different materials?
They are different the white sting material here might have been fast flight and blue serving is soft twist 4

Massive loops and low jig tension? Are you still making them like this?
What is the measurement you are veryfing at 1:24? and 5:10? thanks!
There's something quite therapeutic about watching that serving tool go round and round...

And the music is mesmerizing!!!

Hi Chris, why and in which direction do you twist the strings before serving?

Woww.. sooooo detailll
wow! masterclass.
Thank you
I'd like to see how you made the jig.
Nice music.
Sorry Shuu I cheated on the and got a neighbour to make it for me. My wood working skill aren't that good.

Could you maybe make a video showing the details of the jig? I can see that a router was used on it.

No they move at both ends of mine.
Awesome
Show ! very good
Fantástico
Thank you!!
Your welcome.

Yes, I guess that's why all the world's top target archers and all the world records are shot using Flemish twist strings....

Why is your jig shaking.
It’s a very basic homemade jig that wasn’t secured
