Brian M Thanks. The measuring device is called a bow square. basicly it clips on the string and then sits on the rest. you can use it for measuring nocking points and he brace height of the bow. I tied this nocking point with normal black BCY 2D serving I think.
There are different schools of thought in this regard, but from what I understand most glues would harden, which you don't want in a high stress place like the knocking points. Furthermore, it might shatter and the shards might damage the string (again, that's how it's been explained to me... I have no direct experience of this). Some people like to use hot glue instead, but you still need fire or some other source of heat to melt it. Melting the ends of the thread is a quick and easy way to prevent the nocking points from unravelling (and my own preferred method), but I personally don't bother trying to melt the whole nocking point like in the video. Note that for this to work you need to use some slow melting thread, like nylon (which is what BCY nocking point thread is made of). In my experience polyester burns way too quickly, and of course natural fibres like cotton don't melt...
i like the served nocks better than the over wrapped "ball" , the process would be less fiddly if you waited to trim the first tag end til the whole nock is pulled tight and done. one less thing to hold on too. nice job!

is this knocking point adjustable by twisting it?
Melting the plastic probably makes it permanent.
