By this time next year, your plastic quads will be collecting dust. And you will be ripping and bashing real 5'' freestyle quads! The journey begins!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think your improvement over only a week of flying is nothing short of astounding. Your flying, filming and editing are already pretty great. Thank you for sharing your adventures. Happy flying amigo. Cheers 🍻.
Every FPV journey has a start. I fly both self-build quads and the DJI FPV, on my 4th year...well, as soon as the weather cooperates :) I still get the jitters on the sticks. You got this! Welcome to the sky party!
for all the money you spent you could have gotten a radio transmitter goggles a couple of tinywhoops a couple of toothpicks and a couple of 5inch freestyle or racing drones. and get the best bang per buck you could ever dream off.
best thing you can do when you new is stay down near the ground, like under 25 foot, it sounds counterintuitive but staying near the ground reduces the chance you destroy your quad, your more likely to wreck but the crashes wont destroy the quad. destroying a set of propellers is way cheaper than breaking arms and motors. also racing in simulator will make you a better pilot, it forces you to do things you may not even think of as being hard.
Good for you, I love flying freestyle drones, Five inch 6s are so much fun, No sims for me, I started with cheap analog 3 inch during covid, Then got a Rotor Riot ready to fly DJI combo, Never looked back, Now I build my own, Have like fifteen different types from Iflight, GepRC BetaFPV, HGLRC... Huge learning curve with Betaflight, Soldering, Binding crossfire and ELRS...
I recently bought my first FPV drone (DJI FPV), similar journey with simulator first, than flying with drone. Few days back I bough another one Pavo20 and it's soo fun. I'm still not decided what I like more if doing some cinematic shots (which I am not good at) or doing some acrobatics. I wish there were more FPV pilots around, since I have no one to hang out and fly with. Wish you the best with your drones.
@@EthanNaresh Thx! It's slightly complicated in our country, you have to get drone licence for bigger drones and registration for anything with camera. Maybe that is what holds many people back. But even alone it's fun and woth it.

I learned on the fpv but it really handicapped on learning how to land when I can just switch it into hover mode. Downside with the flying potato is it breaks too easily. Cinewhoop won’t fly like a freestyle drone mostly meant for angle mode indoors. But I always recommend building a freestyle 5 inch with a decent frame. And research batteries so you don’t get one too heavy. If 4s or 6s always get 120c or higher rating
It was a while ago for me, so I don't remember everything, but I did watch @FPVAcademy's playlist on How-to Fly FPV for Beginners. Thanks for the comment!
You've picked a pretty expensive way to start with FPV... And considering how hard the start with FPV is, it's just way too much of a risk. Those drones that you've bought are probably remainings of somebody's else failed start. :D I don't know... buying DJI FPV drones as a first quads is generally not great ideal because you will crash and you will break things and with DJI you won't be able to fix it unlike with self-built FPV drones. But hey, on the other hand, those DJI drones have great features that helps beginners (e.g. that panic button which just stops the drone on the spot). And if you want don't need to do any crazy freestyle moves and just cruise and shoot cinematic shots, then it might be great for you. Anyway, your progress is awesome. The hardest thing on FPV for me is to not get discouraged... There are tons of things you need to learn, not speaking about the controling the damn thing... Keep going, keep pushing and you'll get awesome!

I would guess a lot of the DJI fpv drones are people upgrading to a drone that doesn't break and actually flies good. Oh and like learning to fly, color grading will take a bit longer than you think, lol

dji fpv drones actually break quite easily compared to other fpv drones- they have a pretty bad reputation for durability in the fpv community lol pretty decent for cruising though

Nice work 👍. I just started about a week ago and I’m sure you know it’s much harder than it looks lol. But hey practice makes perfect. Oh and I’ve recently been using the Integra goggles with motion 2 controller. It’s a total game changer. Wish I had it from the start
Thank you! I am about 5 weeks into flying (catching up on editing now) and it definitely gets easier after about the 20-hour mark. I'll look into the integra goggles because it's a real hassle connecting my phone every time I want to fly.
@@EthanNareshYou have a set of dji googles.. If I were you I would make my next investment in a good 6s 5" quad with a vista or o3 (bind in fly to get in the air quicker) and look into an alternate (better) radio link/controller (elrs/tbs crossfire).. The difference in being able to use a controller that suits your hands (as mine are large) is huge for me. I use a Radiomaster Boxer which is probably the darling of the fpv world still at this moment. Not only will a normal 5-inch fly much better, but it will scoff at a crash that would shatter the DJI drone, and custom build quads are actually repairable.

😂😂😂
Should have gotten a real FPV drone, not this. Not the same
please sell that dji potato and get a real drone before it ruins your expierience and you blow 100s you dont need to. and those are flooding the marketplace because its a shit drone
Im 2 years in.. totaly can taste ur situasion🫡 i recomend simulator for some hours, then buy a real fpv drone. Drop the dji consumer drones even though they have this "rescue" button... get a bnf drone first, then build ur own when the hobby gets you gripped😁
Throw the DJI in the trash. Build your own drones.
