Very nice, Captain. Great job with the patterns - I hadn't seen some of these techniques before. I also hadn't seen two layers of bottom fiberglass at once! Keep plugging. My Navigator took 3 years, but It's not as pretty as your build (and I'm totally fine with that). Let me assure you, the first minute in your boat will make it all worthwhile.

Love watching your vids. Was wanting to build, but soon realised it was going to cost more to buy the tools than build the boat, so now I just watch.

Wow! This has to be one of the best series of videos I have seen on YT. Let alone on the topic of stitch and glue boat building. I am looking to do a very basic plywood boat (triloboat) but these videos are not only incredibly informative and succinct, but expertly produced. I applaud you on so many levels. Bravo!

Great vlog, even greater boat build. I have only built one boat in my life, but I admire anyone that takes on the task. You really put together a great little sailboat. Great idea for your steam box! Can I ask you why you did the double lay up? I understand strength/wear factor on the underside but usually a 6 inch wide strip along the keel line would suffice. I'm thinking added weight and cost for not alot of benefit
The plywood is pretty flexible si adding an extra layer oposite to the first in terms of fibre direction makes the hull more steardy. I learned this from another project

I want to build the old style European wood work/fishing boat. The v in the front and back with a little diesel in the floor close to the center.

“Albin motor 021 in old Swedish boat relaxing Baltic ride” is a video with one similar to what I want except I don’t want the flat transom, I want canoe style.
“Wickstrom W2 venemoottori” shows a boat closer to it
Please forgive me for saying this
But a little wisdom some times saves lives
That boat although it looks very good and you did your best,
Please do not take it out in any real rough weather
The reason I say this
Fiberglass although fairly strong, it has it's weakness
Those seams you did along the bottom of the boat without proper support on them will eventually weaken, and you may find yourself with a torn open bottom,
Fiber glass will eventually form very small working cracks.
I've seen fiberglass rip off the wood and also form minute cracks where there is flexing,
Watch the belly for those cracks to appear some time in the future depending on how much you use the boat,
You may be able to lengthen the life of the boat if you can put some ribs lengthwise along those joints, And never use OSB for any boat works.
If you don't believe me, Check with some accredited fiber glass boat builders,
Thanks for the advice. I will also ask the design maker for advice and share your feedback. I do plan to sail it aslo on open sea but not permanent of course
the seams have 3 layers of glass and resin plus 1 properly epoxied fillet. i doubt many stitch and glue designs ask for more.

It looks great! How many hours do you think it took to finish?
I sterted 4 year ago but ony work a few hours a month. It is very labor intensive!. If you like to sail more than you like to build i suggest buying. This is not my first so i knew what to expect. For sure one more year for me to finish. If you really work hard and have the time tou can finish in 1 year
