I was going to comment on this, glad I seen your comment , obviously he doesn’t know the front from the back lol , should have brushed up on some knowledge before doing a video , Anyway I’m sure he knows now he screwed up 😂.
If I may ask, as I’m considering the possibility of going to the Greek islands… do you know if there many traditional boat builders in the region? It would probably be a bit foolish of me to try to build even a small boat… I don’t have any experience, but it would be nice to try.
Was going out to Monhegan and encountered a family sailing one of these back to the island with all their groceries, the swells were so tall you couldn't see the boat when it was in the trough, amazing
What a star shop dog is❤ Loved the tool pouch😂🤗🤓 the boat looks really classy,,,, I’d love to have one of these but haven’t the first idea how to sail😢😂😂
Just realised I put a thumbs up to my own comment! Haven’t quite got the hang of this! Think I’ll give up making comments& trying to reply to the ‘right’ person
Lovely to watch this - an easily driven hull. Interesting that the centrboard case is offset and not directly over the keel. I would have varnished the transom, but the paint job is also first rate.
Man you did a great job first time building a boat like this first go , I like this boat and would absolutely love to build this 17 footer , I’m on my third boat build , it’s addictive , I have got a few more boats I like and will build in the future , I think I have found my calling lol awesome job 👍
Great choice lovely lines should go like stink. Oak branches and stumps will provide the necessary shaped knees you need, should you want grown timber the correct shape. But nothing wrong with laminated stock.

Great first effort. Be warned though, it likely won't be your last. I've built two boats with plans for two more. One audio production critique, my volume was maxed out and I still could barely hear you.
Wanted a traditional wood boat, it's also not going to be living in the water long term. Some parts like the centerboard and inside of the centerboard are fiberglased.
I'm sorry you feel that way. Unfortunately I have a very full time job and two very young kids, finding time to get into the shop is not always easy. I do post pictures more often on my Facebook page if you are interested in more content: facebook.com/BattleWorksDesigns/
Just finished building a 14 foot Whitehall, but I've liked the Penobscot 17 design for years. Excellent video.
The stern is the back of the boat. Your first cut was the stem, front of the boat! Good luck with it all🙂

The video it is very understandable ,the process is presented step by step and I wish for the best result . Greetings from Piraeus Greece.

That is awesome (and reassuring) to hear! I have no sailing experience and picked the design mostly on the looks.
I loved this! I’m gearing up to build the Penobscot 14 and this was super helpful. I can’t wait for the next episode!! Great work.
Wow that is beautiful man. Nice work! Great video!

Great build bud, Excited to see it in the water!
Thank you, we might try and put it in the pool soon. Getting it out of the pool is the hard part.

Overlapping planks is called Lapstrake. The first pattern you cut was the Stem, you should mark all your lines, waterline, shear…etc for next time
And if they’re clenched with nails it’s called clinker.
good work!!!🤙
Thanks 🔥
Жду с нетерпением

Thanks for the tips!
really cool!
Why this sound like a r&b love song. I kept waiting for usher to drop in a oooooh yeah….. girl you know you wanna…..
*WE WANT MORE!*
Nice work. Can you please turn up de volume of your voice in the next episode?
Will do
Your device has volume controls for YOU! No need to make the entire video louder!
I thought it is not a music video, but it turns out it is.
Yer gonna need a lot more clamps……..a lot!

Whatever happened to you and this boat build video 2 ?
0:07 😂
Yea, that was my gateway drug into wooden boats.
Awesome build.
Question: It doesn’t look like you fiberglassed it- if not, why not?

Part 2?
where is part 2 ? 😭😭😭
Future FIY hanging ropes or ratcheting straps from the ceiling is a simple way to flip/roll a boat.

Are you going to make more than one episode once every month? If you are Tyan slow, I'm unsubscribing. Long time to wait for little content
