Have to agree with you on the size HTC could've came with. I really thought HTC was going to come out with a smaller size then a plus version. I am hoping the next Nexus phones will be by HTC and have two different sizes with the larger version rocking front facing speakers!

remember the HTC one Maxx? the fingerprint scanner was on the back, they could have did something like that. Also the HTC one m9+ had a front fingerprint scanner with front speakers beside it.
Flossy is right. I thought the LG V10 was too big for my front shirt pocket So I got the HTC 10. It doesn't have the phablet feeling the V10 has. And it's not that much smaller in the pocket. But they're both great devices.

Great review. I love how you keep everything 100 all the time. I still got the HTC 10 just cuz my S6 edge self destructed and I always have that issue with Samsung products after like 8 months. Plus I actually prefer 5.2inches over 5.5 or something.
I'm on the verge of upgrading my HTC M8. I'm planning to get HTC 10 because headphones performance is the most important thing for me on a phone. I use Audio Techinca and AKG headphones. But Samsung S7 Edge looks so great. Better screen. Better battery. Even though I find HTC's aluminum build quailty better, S7 Edge looks better. (Well, TBH, I have been never impressed with Samsung's headphone performance. My girlfriend has Note 5 and 1.5 year older M8 still kicking its ass when it comes to headphones.) I don't use camera (and social media) that much. I use my headphones like 5 hours per day. But S7 Edge made me question the situation, I really liked the phone, just as much as I liked HTC 10. And I could use that multitasking effectively. What do you suggest for me to do? Should I stay with HTC? Or should I go for S7 Edge?
I think HTC is holding out for the 11 to do big things, their gonna butter everyone up with the boom speakers again, fingerprint, screen and waterproof... Would be nice, we'll see...
i was REALLY disappointed with the removal of the boom sound more than anything but.....i think ill still buy it. i am hoping they will bring it back in the future tho.

Then they better hire some people that can figure out how to do that or not a flagship price for a phone that isnt as good as other flagships on the market. Example OP 3T they about $450 for a phone that has flagship specs but is missing some features like water proof and wireless charging.
All in all Floss, I would've appreciated it more if they left everything how it was and added the better display, camera, processor, and DAC. Ditching speakers and IR blaster was just stupid. Tell me what you think is build sturdier HTC 10 or M8.

Not being a fanboy or anything but people like this phone because of the clean software, excellent build and good speakers but in my opinion the nexus 6P has better build quality, better software and better speakers..
+Khavand Maharaj I think HTC build quality is better. I got both phones and the HTC feel like a tank and 6p feel like iPhone 5 that look beautiful but the scratches, dents and crack easily.
check out jerryrigeverything on the nexus 6p bend test how it got destroyed after a little force and see how the htc 10 didnt even flex ! the build quality on the htc 10 is 10 time better

+osoifamf iPhone audio quality is not good on todays standards. All Android flagships have cleaner audio from the jack, especially the HTC 10 & LG v10. And for the other aspects I don't see any points it is clearly better than galaxy s7 edge. In fact I would say it's worse on every aspect. The only thing what is going for it is the operating system, which is a subjective matter of preference.
They could have put the fingerprint on the side like how Sony positions it. Thus, you could have front facing stereo speakers and use it while you have it on a surface.
I totally agree I like LCD instead. Amoled look way to oversaturated that uses to bother me back when I had samsung phones in the pass like s3 or not 3 I hate Amoled displays.
+MICOLE WHYTE Galaxy s7 basic screen mode is the most accurate display on anything: phones, tv, monitors, etc. You could read up on it. I do agree that the default mode is saturated.
I agree about the IR Blaster. I had a G4 and switched to a Droid Turbo 2 and I miss it. You can't put a price on the convenience of having a traveling remote control 24/7! Great video Flossy!
I have the HTC 10, and I noticed that the phone gets quite hot when recording video through the rear camera, even when it's just recording 1080p, not even 4K. It's a great phone, however.
With all the reviews here on TH-cam for phones with fancy production values and editing, I am somehow more entertained by Floss' simple reviews. He's just fun to listen to, goes depth and is clearly passionate about what he's doing.
Another legit reason to want to have a phone with removable battery for me is, after a year or two the battery will not perform as good any more so, being able to replace it easily is definitely good. My M7's battery can't last half a day with minimal usage. If I can just swap the battery then there's no reason for me to get a new phone.
When the HTC One first came out...that silver M7....it made me switch from iPhone to Android for the first time. I loved that joint. It was buttery smooth, had the best speakers and best music player, IR blaster and all that. It was flossy. I loved it and I thought HTC was the One. But they been falling off the last few years. I went to the dark side and got my first Samsung when the S6 Edge came out. I just got that last year so I'm not in the market for a phone right now. I'm not watching this video cause I'm looking for input on a phone. I'm just working late and like to hear Floss talk in the background.
So I have had my HTC 10 a while now and I have compared speakers and audio output to the Huawei Nexus P, Samsung 7s, HTC m9, fruit-phone and several others. Now I am not going to tell you that you are wrong but I completely disagree with you about these speakers. Granted we are not listening the same way. The 10 delivers a almost hi-fi sound. True it is not as loud as the P for example but the 10 is head and shoulders above the P for sound. So why do we disagree? Well, I think it is totally to do with what we listen to. I too, listen to rap, hip-hop, etc but I also listen to classical, rock, jazz, etc... If you really want to hear why the 10 is light-years ahead of the competition, go to Amazon prime and search Ludovico Einaudi experience. Play this song on your P and then the 10. This won't matter to you because you said so yourself: I listen to rap, hip-hop and a little reggae. But once you hear this difference you will definitely understand why many people would prefer the 10. Next get out some studio monitors like audio technica or something with a really flat response and plug into your Samsung, Huawei, whatever and then the 10 you are really going to notice. Try using music with real instruments like Money by Pink Floyd. Pay attention to the cash register sound. The only phone that sounds nice besides the 10 is the v10. However, imo to get optimal quality from the 10 you have to set it up right. If you have the disco smile and are using the Dolby effects you will find that it distorts. If you are listening to, say Kanye's New Slaves song the distortion is less apparent. Basically most people have crap headphones and poor quality mp3s and the Dolby fixes this but if you have good files and good headphones the effects can be over kill. Long comment but I think even if you disagree, you will totally get why we disagree. Just like for you the Monster Boombox or whatever is perfect and to me the Vifa, Riva and Kef are perfect. I will admit that if I am having "fun" like a party, I use the Big Blue but only for synth, rap, etc... Never for acoustic, classical, real instruments. Still, I think you might be surprised at just how clean and good hardcore hip-hop can sound on a hi-fi speaker. For shits and giggles you should try a Helsinki or Oslo. Set them to night time mode... If you don't like it, return it, after the video. 👍👍👍 Anyway, have a great weekend! 🔫😎🚬🎼🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶

It depends on what you use a phone for. If a great camera is a must have, go with the pixel. If you are an audiophile, or listen to music often (speakers and through headphones, go with the HTC 10. Overall, the pixel is probably the best, but I wouldn't pay an extra 100+ USD for it.
Damn Floss, you had me worried. Lol. I thought you were about to trash this phone. My biggest gripe is getting rid of front speakers, but it's still better than Note 5. The only thing I'm really missing is multi window. I kept my Note 5th switch back every now and then, but I'm like you.. Htc has soft spot on my heart. I'm loving the phone. Not being a fanboy or anything but people like this phone because of the clean software, excellent build and good speakers but in my opinion the nexus 6P has better build quality, better software and better speakers..

+Khavand Maharaj I think HTC build quality is better. I got both phones and the HTC feel like a tank and 6p feel like iPhone 5 that look beautiful but the scratches, dents and crack easily.
check out jerryrigeverything on the nexus 6p bend test how it got destroyed after a little force and see how the htc 10 didnt even flex ! the build quality on the htc 10 is 10 time better

+osoifamf iPhone audio quality is not good on todays standards. All Android flagships have cleaner audio from the jack, especially the HTC 10 & LG v10. And for the other aspects I don't see any points it is clearly better than galaxy s7 edge. In fact I would say it's worse on every aspect. The only thing what is going for it is the operating system, which is a subjective matter of preference.
They could have put the fingerprint on the side like how Sony positions it. Thus, you could have front facing stereo speakers and use it while you have it on a surface.

I totally agree I like LCD instead. Amoled look way to oversaturated that uses to bother me back when I had samsung phones in the pass like s3 or not 3 I hate Amoled displays.
+MICOLE WHYTE Galaxy s7 basic screen mode is the most accurate display on anything: phones, tv, monitors, etc. You could read up on it. I do agree that the default mode is saturated.

I agree about the IR Blaster. I had a G4 and switched to a Droid Turbo 2 and I miss it. You can't put a price on the convenience of having a traveling remote control 24/7! Great video Flossy!

I have the HTC 10, and I noticed that the phone gets quite hot when recording video through the rear camera, even when it's just recording 1080p, not even 4K. It's a great phone, however.

To launch the camera reliably every time just do short quick swipes right in the middle of the screen. It opens literally 100% of the time for me.

With all the reviews here on TH-cam for phones with fancy production values and editing, I am somehow more entertained by Floss' simple reviews. He's just fun to listen to, goes depth and is clearly passionate about what he's doing.

Another legit reason to want to have a phone with removable battery for me is, after a year or two the battery will not perform as good any more so, being able to replace it easily is definitely good.
My M7's battery can't last half a day with minimal usage. If I can just swap the battery then there's no reason for me to get a new phone.
When the HTC One first came out...that silver M7....it made me switch from iPhone to Android for the first time. I loved that joint. It was buttery smooth, had the best speakers and best music player, IR blaster and all that. It was flossy. I loved it and I thought HTC was the One. But they been falling off the last few years. I went to the dark side and got my first Samsung when the S6 Edge came out. I just got that last year so I'm not in the market for a phone right now. I'm not watching this video cause I'm looking for input on a phone. I'm just working late and like to hear Floss talk in the background.
So I have had my HTC 10 a while now and I have compared speakers and audio output to the Huawei Nexus P, Samsung 7s, HTC m9, fruit-phone and several others.
Now I am not going to tell you that you are wrong but I completely disagree with you about these speakers. Granted we are not listening the same way. The 10 delivers a almost hi-fi sound. True it is not as loud as the P for example but the 10 is head and shoulders above the P for sound.
So why do we disagree? Well, I think it is totally to do with what we listen to. I too, listen to rap, hip-hop, etc but I also listen to classical, rock, jazz, etc... If you really want to hear why the 10 is light-years ahead of the competition, go to Amazon prime and search Ludovico Einaudi experience. Play this song on your P and then the 10. This won't matter to you because you said so yourself: I listen to rap, hip-hop and a little reggae. But once you hear this difference you will definitely understand why many people would prefer the 10.
Next get out some studio monitors like audio technica or something with a really flat response and plug into your Samsung, Huawei, whatever and then the 10 you are really going to notice. Try using music with real instruments like Money by Pink Floyd. Pay attention to the cash register sound. The only phone that sounds nice besides the 10 is the v10. However, imo to get optimal quality from the 10 you have to set it up right. If you have the disco smile and are using the Dolby effects you will find that it distorts. If you are listening to, say Kanye's New Slaves song the distortion is less apparent. Basically most people have crap headphones and poor quality mp3s and the Dolby fixes this but if you have good files and good headphones the effects can be over kill.
Long comment but I think even if you disagree, you will totally get why we disagree. Just like for you the Monster Boombox or whatever is perfect and to me the Vifa, Riva and Kef are perfect. I will admit that if I am having "fun" like a party, I use the Big Blue but only for synth, rap, etc... Never for acoustic, classical, real instruments. Still, I think you might be surprised at just how clean and good hardcore hip-hop can sound on a hi-fi speaker. For shits and giggles you should try a Helsinki or Oslo. Set them to night time mode... If you don't like it, return it, after the video. 👍👍👍

Price is high for the Pixel, but the other two are better priced for similar stuff. Opinions?
It depends on what you use a phone for. If a great camera is a must have, go with the pixel. If you are an audiophile, or listen to music often (speakers and through headphones, go with the HTC 10. Overall, the pixel is probably the best, but I wouldn't pay an extra 100+ USD for it.

Damn Floss, you had me worried. Lol. I thought you were about to trash this phone. My biggest gripe is getting rid of front speakers, but it's still better than Note 5. The only thing I'm really missing is multi window. I kept my Note 5th switch back every now and then, but I'm like you.. Htc has soft spot on my heart. I'm loving the phone. A bit late, but I'd get the G5 if you can get it for so cheap and you're tight on cash. That being said, the 10 is absolutely amazing, much better than the G5
