Very Nice I have had several family and friends that have passed in last couple of years and this idea will definitely make some in my circle smile and probably a few tears but it will make a Great thinking of you gift 👍 Thanks 🙏
I liked it. And I didn't mind hearing about your family. For some reason I thought you were going to be etching this. But I like the black for a memorial. I made similar memorial things on large floor tiles from Lowe's that cost like a dollar. Do the black lettering and the quote and I have this picture of a feather turning into birds and then I put a picture frame on it to put the person's picture. But I digress... I only mentioned it because I was going to say that's been my go-to memorial thing, but now I think I'll do a few of these! Very nice.
Love this video very inspirational and I tried and having difficulties with the glitter drying. How long does it take because when I go to put the lights in, it’s scratching the glitter off? Can I put a second coat of polycrylic on top of the first layer of glitter?
I had a good friend pass away last week and I would like to make a glass block like in your video, I have a Cricut Machine but I don't know how to cut the photo out in vinyl, please help.
Oh my, THANK YOU so much for this video! I've been wanting to make these memorial boxes but wasn't quite sure where to start. I am so grateful that I came across your video! Can't wait to do some of these!
The block I used is 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 I made my picture 7 in square. I would say give yourself no less than a 1/4 inch boarder and 1/2 would probably be best
Sadly I have not been able to find one that will do it for free anymore, sorry. I do mine using Photo Shop and I have seen several tutorial on YT on how to do it with just about every graphics program around. I hope this helps.
The Vinyl isn't printed, it is cut on my Cricut Machine. The Cricut is a vinyl cutting machine. IF you do not have a cutting machine, yes you can print your saying and names out and cut them by hand. I would use a light card stock and a clear drying glue.
I truly live this idea, My husband passed away this pass July.. What a nice way to remember him by.. I'm always doing something for every holiday... Sadly, I don't have a cutting machine..:( really wanted to try this.. Is there any other way of doing that part?
Yes, you could use printable vinyl or sticky paper. Anything you can print your image on. Then cut out the pieces using an X-acto knife or small cutting scissors.
If you can not get any detail around eyes, which can be very hard to do, you can use an Xacto knife and add some after you have it on the block. I hope this helps.
If I sent you a pic and money for your vynal and time, would you make one for me? I already have the block. I just need the silhouette picture or detailed instructions on how to do it myself.
I got it from Amazon - www.amazon.com/Tonic-Studios-Holtz-372-Retractable/dp/B0013AKBLY/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1525139256&sr=8-14&keywords=weeding+tools+for+vinyl it is by Tim Holtz
I was so excited to see how she made her block but she talked way too much about things that were not paramount to learning this project. I stopped the video five minutes into it. Keep your focus on what you’re teaching not your family and other things.

Bonna Kelley very beautiful. Is there a specific website to go to in order to make a picture a silhouette?
Bonna Kelley also, what size would you recommend if I want to make the pic a little smaller?
The block I used is 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 I made my picture 7 in square. I would say give yourself no less than a 1/4 inch boarder and 1/2 would probably be best

Could I use a transparency picture
How did you get the picture to turn out so beautiful? I have a cricut explore 2 and I can't seem to clean mines like this.. Very Beautiful!!😍😍
I do most of the cleanup in Photo Shop before I upload it to Cricut.
I dont have photoshop
What sticker paper is that u ave the letters on ?
Oh ok.Does it matter what kinda vinyl u use or do u need a certain type of printer
The Vinyl isn't printed, it is cut on my Cricut Machine. The Cricut is a vinyl cutting machine. IF you do not have a cutting machine, yes you can print your saying and names out and cut them by hand. I would use a light card stock and a clear drying glue.
What size do you cut it too!
Very nice!
what app do u use for your picture?
would like to know also?

Where do you get your glass blocks?
I got mine from Menards
My friend wants me to do some for her please
I truly live this idea, My husband passed away this pass July.. What a nice way to remember him by.. I'm always doing something for every holiday... Sadly, I don't have a cutting machine..:( really wanted to try this.. Is there any other way of doing that part?

I really enjoyed your video. This is an keeper! Anyone who receives this, is sure to "TREASURE" this.
Where did you get that poke tool thing from?
to be honest, I got it so long ago and past it on to my sister I don't know who made it. BUT I know I got it off of Amazon.
Too much talking in the beginning without showing what you did seems to be dragging along. Overall good demonstration once it got started.
I have a silhouette but do you have to weed the photo I lose details like eyes and things
If you can not get any detail around eyes, which can be very hard to do, you can use an Xacto knife and add some after you have it on the block. I hope this helps.
What brand of paper did u use to print your lettering
That isn't paper, it is 251 Vinyl.
If I sent you a pic and money for your vynal and time, would you make one for me? I already have the block. I just need the silhouette picture or detailed instructions on how to do it myself.
Should have time lapse your video, way to long for a few simple...
I wonder why folks can't just fast forward instead of being rude?
What cutting machine cuts from a picture
I use the Cricut. I made the black and white copy of my photo and uploaded it to my Cricut work space.
Enjoyed your video so much ! Defiantly going to try this.. Where did you get your weeding tool ? I like it a lot better than the one I have 😀
I got it from Amazon - www.amazon.com/Tonic-Studios-Holtz-372-Retractable/dp/B0013AKBLY/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1525139256&sr=8-14&keywords=weeding+tools+for+vinyl it is by Tim Holtz
Good info, great ideal, but the video was way, way to long.
I totally agree and am working hard to get my videos down to 10 mins or less. A lot harder than it sounds. Thanks for watching!
cause she jibber jabbers about stuff not neccessary
Very hard looking. Could I get you to make one for my husband if I send you the picture.

I was so excited to see how she made her block but she talked way too much about things that were not paramount to learning this project. I stopped the video five minutes into it. Keep your focus on what you’re teaching not your family and other things.
Wow... Some rude folks in these comments! Fast forward to where you can see her actually working on it! Not that big a deal!
