🎄I think these are awesome.
I enjoy making all kinds of crafts. The blocks with the elf’s inside and a quote on it are cute that I have seen people make.
Blessings and Merry Christmas!!!! 🎄🎄
Love it...! I have an old block... NOW, I know what to do with it!!! Thank You!!
Oh i love it thank u for sharing beautiful work u do
This looks so fun! I’m totally making this. Corrine’s videos are such a delight to watch. She’s got so much personality!
Thank you for this very helpful and inspiring tutorial.
Adorable!
Can't wait to make one!!
Thank you
Love ❤️ it!
Love it!
Oh i love it beautiful work u dis
Great Christmas ideas
Love your videos and you are always so helpful! Thank you!
Thank you so much!
LOVE IT , GREAT INSTRUCTIONS
thank you so much, I learned everything I needed.
Outstanding
Thanks for your videos
Love!!!! I've seen various sizes for the lights. Just curious which size do u reccomend for the 8x8 block?
These ones are really tiny. I think it's just a matter of the look you want. This only has 12 lights on it so it's not super bright
Is it ok to put lights in the block with the poly in there tnx love the video
Yep! Like anything electrical you'll want to inspect your cords and wires. But yes totally safe
2 years later, you blew up that 50k goal.
Hi, thanks for the tutorial.i have polyurethane varnish, may a use it as a glue? does any glitter works?
Polyurethane is not going to work for this. And any glitter works yes
Thank you for this great tutorial. I do have a question though: as for the Polycrylic, I Googled it and see that there are different finishes (i.e. satin, semi-gloss, etc.). Does the finish matter? Also, it it MinWax? Thanks for any help you can give! Colleen
I recommend using gloss and it is the brand minwax
Do you find that it’s better to have the opening on the top or bottom? I made one without glitter and have the opening on the bottom. I’m thinking of adding glitter to it now.
I like it on the top personally that way any loose glitter just stays inside
Miniwax water base polycrylic clear gloss That’s the one you use I purchased this and started using it on the boxes I was using a adhesive spray and it wasn’t working it would scratch the glitter every time I put the fairy lights in
I bought 20 blocks on sale for 2020 Christmas projects what's the easiest way to get the big store sticker on the front off?
Soak in warm water, rub with goo gone, you can use a razor blade as well.
Hi Corinne....I want to know if it’s ok to add the polycyclic and glitter a second time because I have spots that didn’t get covered
Yes you can but be sure the first layer is completely dry. Wait 25 hours if possible
Hi Corinne, where did you get the I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas SVG?
hi love your video.. question can i use polycrylic matte or should it be satin?
It doesn't matter for this kind of application. I used gloss but any kind will work
@@CorinneBlackstone so appreciated thank you
Use lots of glitter so it rolls easy to get all spots . The glitter you can pour out and use it again .
I coated my block in polycrylic then glittered it yesterday. Is there a rough guess on how long it takes to dry?
About 24 hours
Corrine, Can you spread it with a brush also, as well as the way you are doing it. Very intteresting and I hope to try it soon. Flo
You could but I think in these it would be hard to cover everything
What size should i cut the vinyl to fit the glass blocks
You need to measure your blanks. The size of my blocks may be different from yours
Love them how would you wrap them if you sell them
bubble wrap and lots of it LOL
Is the poly ok to put with the lights? Just curious if the light gets hot will rhe poly have a reaction?
Yes its safe. The lights won't effect it at all.
Ok cool! Thanks for the quick reply. Have a great rest of your week !
@@meriahbrandt5515 you too!
Corinne Blackstone does the glass block come with the hole in the top?
This one does yes. They don’t all come with it so you will want to check before buying
Can you also use mod podge or no?
I don't recommend mod podge for anything because its just glue. I don't love it but yes if its all you have you can use it.
How do you stop the lights from scratching the glitter off the I side of the block?
Allow the item to dry over night
where you buy youre glitter? i like it a lot
This was all from random places Michael’s Joanna dollar tree
Help!! I put glitter in as you said and let it sit for days. When I put the lights in it scratched the glitter off. What do you think could be the problem?
You probably let your polycrylic dry too long so it didn’t form enough of a bond with the glitter
What are the blocks called and where can you find them please? Thank you💓
They are just called glass blocks and they can be found at most craft stores. Even sometimes walmart
Where do you find polycrylic? And what brands are best?
most hardware stores sell it I prefer the minwax brand
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you! :)
Home depot doesn't sell it anymore. Lowes and Walmart do
Where do you get the glass blocks from?
AC Moore
How did you create such a large opening?
It comes with the opening
what if it wasn't dry when you put the lights in, and it scratched the glitter off? How could you repair it?
You can add some more polycrylic and glitter
how did you cut your opening in your glass block
I didn't. They came that way
@@CorinneBlackstone ok, i only asked because I used to cut the holes myself and that was tough
My glass block has no hole?? Is it possible to make one lol
I mean you need a special blade and cutter to create the hole. I’ve never personally tried it
Did you somehow clean the inside of the block? Or is it not necessary? I want to try making one but not sure if I should clean the inside.
I didn't clean it at all honestly. But you could. Swish some rubbing alcohol around and then drain it out and let it dry
Where can i get lights at
These are what I use amzn.to/47UGn3t
Thank you for your tutorial. Is the Polycrylic you are using specifically used as an adhesive? Polycrylic in the UK, is used as a protective finish on wooden furniture, it's an expensive type of varnish not adhesive.
It's the same stuff. :) this can be used as a sealer too
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you, I wasn't sure.
It would be nice to know how you cut the hole in the block…..
I didn’t. They come with the hole already in them
Have you tried chunky glitter?
Yes it works ok. It’s a little harder to get real solid coverage
Cr
where are the instructions for the blue one? the one where the glitter is only on the front?
It's the same process just swirl the glitter only on the front then drain.
@@CorinneBlackstone but how do you get the poly to drain out without it hitting other parts of the block?
@@lafrcatz1 I just turn it upside down and angle it a little
Pick me... pick me
