Thanks for commenting! Yeast infections of the breast require both mom and baby be treated at the same time. If not, you will pass it back and forth between both of you. Your OBGYN should be able to prescribe something for you. If they use Diflucan, it must be given for 3 weeks. Then call the pediatrician and ask for medication for the baby. Good luck!

I'm breastfeeding my six month old baby. I have itchy breast. Not always.. some days it goes by itself. Then it comes back, i cant control that itchiness. There will be rash there at that time. After sometime itchiness will go away. Hi I'm 38yrs old. I'm not pregnant or breast feeding its been years. Around the brown part of my nipples there are some very small pimple looking things that itch really badly. It doesn't hurt nor any flaking and neither any lumps. It don't itch everyday but notice it start to happens a week or so before my periods. Any advise.

Can a yeast infection be in woman's 1 breast's nipple and areola being unmarried and vergin? After taking 1 dose of cefixime 400 mg on 2nd day and 1 dose of fluconazole 150mg on 1st day? Nipple and areola burning started on 2 and 1/2 or 3rd day. Both nipples became sensitive at touching. Is it cz of cefixime or any serious issue to be checked by a gynecologist? As it appeared after taking cefixime and fluconazole. Fluconazole is given by the general physician for vaginal burning feelings. Cefixime is given by the Dr for UTI

I have tried 6 doses of fluconozole, nyastatin cream and I treated my son for his mouth thrush with miconazole. I have also tried nilstat pills. My sons thrush is gone but I am still in severe pain breastfeeding and the treatment isn’t showing any signs of improvement. What do you do if your thrush is treatment resisted? I had it vaginally throughout pregnancy and none of the creams worked either.

Everytime I have deep burning sensation in breast after complete the feeding. And also I have cracked nipples. It causes breast feeding very painful.
