You are the BOMB! , as my students would say. I just got the SE1900 for my 60th birthday and as a “beginner” there is so much to learn. Please continue to post. You are the perfect teacher.
Thank you so much for this. My sister taught me how to sew about 3 years ago on her sewing machine. I just got the brother xt9550prw this past Christmas. I paused this video at that the part about the needle threader and I had no idea that my machine had one a well. This was helpful.
I just purchased one and awaiting delivery but I read the manual online first, and now watching videos! When you thread, the manual said there's a line on the spinning wheel so make sure it's facing up. Such a cool marker! Normally when you thread, you have you turn the wheel manually until the take up lever is up high lol I was also wondering if the needle threader only works when the take up lever is up??
I do love my SE1900 that I bought in June 2020, but the auto-threader stinks to high heaven. I have replaced it TWICE and it isn't working once again now. It only works when I use a JEANS needle which isn't that often. Mostly I do embroidery and it never works then. It doesn't work with Schmetz embroidery needles nor Organ 75/11 recommended needles. Someone in a Facebook group said her tech guy said to use an 80/12 needle but can you use that size when embroidering? Her Luminaire has the same auto-threader issue!!!
I have a Brother SE1900 and I have replaced my auto-threader twice in less than 3 years! Once again now it only threads a JEANS needle and is very frustrating. You're not doing anything wrong - it's your needle size and I wish Brother would perfect it. The eye of the needle has to be large enough. A size 80/12 or larger. I know of someone who bought a Brother Luminaire and has the same issue!
For sewing, it's on the top right when you go to select a stitch. For embroidery, press the settings button (bottom row, second to last; basically, right under the left arrow.) Then, scroll right using the arrow until you see "Embroidery Tension." Hope that makes sense!
Thanks. Clarified the up/down presser foot requirements. So, when doing embroidery and changing threads, when it is time to change color, lift the presser foot, remove thread, re-thread new color, lower presser foot to use the automatic needle threader, then start? Is this correct?
@@SewingMachineFun Is there a preference which direction to pull out the thread - up toward the spool or cut and pull out through the needle? Also, if you need to stop because of error, what is the best way to resume mid-embroidery session?
@@kgdalg1 Cut the thread near the spool, and pull it out through the needle. If you have an issue mid-embroidery, you can just set your machine to start stitching 1, 10, 100 etc stitches before the point the machine stopped to fill in any missed stitches.
Just got the se1900. I have the pressure foot up but the shutter is blocking me from threading through the #4 area? What an I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!
PLEEEEAAASSSEEE do more tutorials.... with the SE1900

You are 2 for 2 with me!!! Yesss
Awesome tutorial. One of the best that I’ve seen. I just got my se1900, I do have a question. How do you adjust the tension?..😎

@@SewingMachineFun Aly you are the best. As a lifetime seamstress, this new embroidery machine is fun, but completely new to me! Thanks for your help.

Que precio tiene esta máquina??
Can 60 thread be used on top for embroidery ?
Yes, I've had no problems with mine ever.
@@SewingMachineFun I was told 60 is too thin and 40 is needed for embroidery on top.
