If your looking for instructions for the REAL beginning of a setup for a Brother SE1900 THIS IS IT!! She is real, simple and easy to follow. Took awhile to find a good video, glad I did.
Great video! I’ve had my SE1900 for about 2 years, love it. Just a few things to help out, 1) When winding bobbin, it will start to slow down as it gets full. You should stop it and cut thread. If you let it go to long it could strip gears. 2) When machine is on and you are changing needle, pressure foot or anything that puts your fingers in harm’s way you should press button on screen with the pressure foot and circle with arrows. This locks machine so needle will not engage. Press again to release. 3) When replacing or removing thread you should cut at spool and pull thread out from needle. This helps keep tension disc from getting out of whack.
Barbara, THANK YOU!!! I learned about the bobbin the hard way... I had a couple of them pop on me because it was too full. So now I started to purchase the pre-wind ones. But sometimes you want the same thread color on the bottom so I have no choice but to do this. I love your tips thanks for sharing. I didn't know about the button that locks the machine too.
Thank you. You are the best. You’ve taken the fear out of the initial set up. And you helped me find where the parts were kept! Yippee!, Received my machine today and was intimidated but now I feel I can proceed. I turned into you first and that was obviously the best choice I could’ve made. Thanks once again.
I just got my machine today and was worried if there was any videos that would show in-depth on how to set it up and you were perfect thank you and thanks to your son for getting all the right angles!
Hi Roman. Congrats on your new machine!!! I have a whole playlist on the channel on how using it. Get ready to be addicted to embroidering!!! HAVE FUN!!! Glad you found the video useful!
Thanks for helping me learn the machine, I watched your video and started embroidery 2 minutes later. Now I watched your sewing into and I'm ready to jump in. Never touched a thread before in my life but it looks like I been doing this for a while. Thanks again😊
Hi Teresa! Glad you are enjoying the machine! It’s really great and fun to use!!! Happy sewing and Embroidering! Join our Facebook group so you can have more fun!
I just received my new SE1900 three days ago. I took it out of the box and I have to admit, I was a little intimated by it. It's been sitting on my table with the plastic cover still on it. I am glad I found you video. It's not intimation at all. I got this, thanks to your video. I'll be watching more! Can't wait to get started!
Hi Kathy! Congrats and your new machine and enjoy it! Before you know it you will be a PRO and be making all sorts of wonderful things for yourself, friends and family. I have a playlist on the channel to help with several features of the machine. I've had mine for three years now and I still love it!!! Happy Sewing and Embroidering!!!
just bought mine so intimidated to work with this big thing it's a super cool machine. thank you for showing me how to pre wind the bobbin. And set up for embroidery I'm a visual learner. subscribed and like.
I just found this video so so helpful! I have never embroidered a day in my life and will be beginning a project soon so this was an excellent intro to the basics of the machine. I'll look around your channel - hopefully there's also a how to on using this machine for an actual embroidery project, too! Thanks so much, excellent, excellent teaching!
Thank you so much for this great instructional! I inherited this machine from my grandmother a few years ago, but am only just now getting time to learn it. I quickly understood the very basic straight stitching, but this helped me get further, and learn more!
just purchased my SE 1900 i was going to get a seperate sewing machine because i need to do both (embroidery & sewing)but was not certain it would be a quick change over between the two. i intended to get the PE800 (and Brother XM2701 to sew)but its either sold out the same price as this one, or 300 dollars more expensive. The simplest features have made me so excited! Great video learning from you while its in the mail!
Hi Tricia. Glad you find the videos helpful. If you have any questions just reach out. It is pretty quick to change from sewing to embroidery but if you want to do both at the same time then I would get separate machines. I have a sewing machine Brother HC1850 before I got the SE1900 but found I was only using the SE1900 so I sold the HC1850.
Just got my machine and started reading the manual. I gave up and started searching TH-cam. I am a visual learner and your video made it so easy for me to understand. I'm looking forward to your other videos. Thank You
Hi Sue! I am a visual learner also. I will be making more videos this weekend. They are easier to film when my husband or son holds the camera. It's important to actually show what I am pointing at and what my hands are doing. Glad you are enjoying the videos. It's a great machine. You will love it!
Hi. I just purchased the Brother se1950 and was looking for info on it and came across your channel. You are so sweet and give a lot of valuable info. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills with us.
I have been having my machine for about 6 months, I was beginning to think the machine was defective. Your video has helped me so much. Thank you so much, I appreciate you taking the time to explain the machine
Hi Lady, I'm so glad that my videos are helping you. This machine is really great. You are going to enjoy it. If you have any questions or need help just reach out! Have sewing and embroidering!!!
I sooooo appreciate all you’re doing for we that now own the se1900. I’ve just bought the embrilliance and thumbnail through your affiliate. Thanks again Jeanette.
Sarah you are going to love it! My first machine was the Brother HC 1850. I got it off Amazon for less than $200. I wasn't sure if I was going to love sewing so I didn't want to spend a whole bunch of money. I feel in love with sewing and upgraded to the Brother SE1900. It's worth every cent. Love my machine. I just purchased a Brother PRO670E multi needle machine about two months ago. Love the six needle machine as well. Enjoy your machine!
Thank you SO much for this amazing video. I love the way you explain “everything”. You are a great teacher!!! This is my first Brother SE 1900 embroidery/sewing machine. I am so excited for the next lesson from you :o).
Hi Leilani! Glad you enjoyed the video and that it was easy to follow! Enjoy your SE1900 machine. You are going to have so much fun making all kinds of things with it!!! Happy Sewing and Embroidering!
LOL!
Thanks for video helped so much. The white plastic stick in the bobbin case is a seam ripper if you didn't figure it out yet. I have had my machine for 2 years and now going to set it up.
Great videos, Thank you!!! You are the reason I purchased the Brother SE1900. you are a great teacher for a beginner like me! #brother #embroidery #brotherSE1900
Hi Cynthia. I'm so glad that my videos are a big help. I love the SE1900. It really is a great machine and I still use it everyday. I just brought a Juku 2010Q and use it but I find myself always going back to the SE1900. It embroiders and sews really well. Had it for 3 years now and still enjoy using it. Have fun with your machine. You are going to LOVE it!!! Happy Sewing and Embroidering!
I got my machine. Had a hell of a time threading the needle. BUT I re watched this video an I got it see even the Irish can learn. not fast but we get it hahaha. Need more videos. Haha.
Thank you so much for your detailed tutorial. I got inspired by your videos, I just bought an SE 1900! Your tutorial helped me do my first embroidery project! Thank You!
Hi Theresa! I'm glad you are enjoying the SE1900! You are going to love the machine. There is so much you can do! Have fun with it!! Glad the videos are helping. I will make sure to keep them coming!!!
Hi Valeska. Congrats on your new machine! You are going to enjoy it. I've had mine for three years now and still love and use it everyday! Have fun sewing and embroidering!
Hi Amie! I'm so glad to hear the video helped. It's really a great machine. Enjoy it! Before you know it you will be making so many great things! Happy Sewing and Embroidering!
Thank you so much for this video. I literally got this same machine delivered today and let’s just say I needed to find this video. I searched all day for videos about this machine and now it’s almost 10pm and I said let me give it one more try and you popped up. Thank you. P.S. I was using the sewing for for embroidery lol 😂
Hi Queen Tee. Congrats on your new machine. I have a whole playlist of videos on the SE1900. You are going to love the machine. I've had it for over 3 years now and love it!
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts made my first design last night after this video and I love it. I used the designs that came with the machine. Do you have a Facebook group?
I just got this machine it was kinda intimidating unboxing but after watching your video I feel more confident, thanks for sharing I look forward to more videos :)
Hi Tajah, Enjoy your new machine! Don't be afraid of it. Once you understand the basis you will be creating a bunch of stuff. Have fun sewing and Embroidering!!!
Thank you for the helpful video. I just got an SE2100 so I am checking out lots of tutorials on Brother’s similar models. Just a clarification for new sewers out there… the term pressure/presser foot refers to the “foot” attachment that is right underneath the needle. The video also references what you place your foot on to make the machine start stitching as the pressure/presser foot as well. It’s called the foot pedal or foot controller, not the presser foot (although I get why you called it that because you’re pressing the pedal with your foot.) Overall, very helpful!
Thank you for the very helpful tutorial I just got the SE 1900 brothers machine and one of the first things was that I tried was to put thread on a bobbin but I noticed that the thread didn’t get wound evenly and I’m hoping that holding the thread the way you did is going to make the difference.
Hi Edna. It did make a difference when I did this, however I prefer to use the prewound bobbins instead. Here is the link to the ones I use: amzn.to/3LxLM4l
I love your videos! Great sense of humor! Down to earth! I watched several before I purchased the machine. You inspired me to purchase the 1900! I just opened the box yesterday! The first issue I had (with regular thread on top) the thread keeps catching the slit on top of the thread spool. The slit that I am referring to is on the top edge of spool where you find the beginning of the thread. Because the spool lays on its side .... it catches the slit when the spool is turning. Has this happen to anyone else? Lastly, I have subscribed! How do I tune into your Friday streaming? Many, many thanks again for taking the time to help us all! You are wonderful!!!! Jill
Hi Jill, I know exactly what you are talking about with the top spool catching. I brought the single thread holder and I use that. It really helps and I don't have that issue anymore. Try turning the thread the opposite way so the side with the slit isn't towards the left. That might help. Just turn it on the channel on Fridays at 8pm. You should see the live. I always post the link to our facebook group: Happy Embroidery Hour Adventures. Join the group! It's a great place for support and advice. Happy Sewing and Embroidering and enjoy your new machine!!!
I just unboxed mine late last night. I was able to thread it and get it to sew, but I didn't bother to read the manual. The red/green kinda threw me a curve until your video lol. At the point you showed the auto threader, I stopped the video and tried. Well Bob's your uncle, it worked!! And that thread cutter....yes, after sewing who knows how many masks.......I have a thread cutter. :)
Have You ever done a tutorial on cleaning this machine..??? I have had a lot of different machines…and being 87 years old I cannot stress enough on how important it is to remember to clean out machines….makes them run way better and longer…You do a WONDERFUL TUTORIAL YOUNG LADY…
Hi Ed. I learned the hard way that you have to clean the machine. It started acting up and then my mom asked me when was the last time I cleaned it. I was like huh???? LOL.... Now I clean it every week!
I have a brother machine, simplicity and had no problem winding the bobbin. She states she has a problem winding her bobbins and I think it may be she threaded it wrong around step one, you have to pull the thread "behind" the #1 then to #2
Hi Janine! Thanks for the tip. Winding my bobbins have been challenging for me. I usually buy the white and black pre-wind bobbins, but I know I better learn cause sometimes you want the bobbin to be the same color as your top thread. I'm going to pay more attention to how I am threading it. Hopefully, I can finally get it. Now sure if I was pulling the thread "behind". I hope it works for me. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts I also struggle trying to get an even wound bobbin. It's quite frustrating and have resorted to purchasing Pre-wound Bobbins from Amazon. Though it can be costly, it's worth it to me and avoids nesting etc. Again, Gracias!
Excellent video, very down to earth and straight forward. Your son did an excellent job as well! Do you use the disc that goes on to hold the thread on? I didn’t see you use it in the video.
I’m shocked that I don’t always have to use the foot controller, that it is an option, that is going to be something I hope I can take advantage of using. I have only taken a few stitches. I don’t even know how I got to the screen where I selected just a straight stitch I got lucky. I am reading the manual now and also looking at videos. Thank you for your very helpful instructions.
Hi Edna. Yes, you don't have to use the foot controller, but I am so use to using it that I always have it plugged in. Enjoy your machine! I love mine!!!
When you thread the machine for bobbin winding you have to thread up to number 1 then up to number 2 then over to the right. Might be why your bobbins were loose. There wasnt any tension on your thread.
Boricua Sewing & Crafts I’ll be watching! I'm on my way to pick up the machine now. I feel inspired, and now is the perfect time to invest and learn. Also, what type of thread do you sew with for regular sewing and embroidery?
Good video tutorial...I'm about to place my order for the SE1900 and I'm super excited! I currently have the SE625 which has helped me to learn a lot about embroidery but I'm so ready to work with a 5x7 Hoop. I would like to share a suggestion if you don't mind. I install the Embroidery Foot before I insert the Embroidery Frame to make it easier to attach and I also use a Screw Driver. Gracias and I look forward to watching ALL your videos! #subscribed One other thing...Thanks for showing me how to use the Auto Threader and how to use the machine without the Foot Controller. So dope!!!
Lucky Lucy you are going to love this machine. You can also use a larger hoop with this machine. I did a video on using the 5x12 hoop. Glad your enjoying the videos! Happy Embroidering!
Hi, So it is not necessary to bring up the bobbin thread before starting to sew. On my old machine I always make sure to bring up the bobbin thread by turning the hand wheel. Thank you in advance.
Hi Edna. Yes. Not with this machine. I have to bring up the bobbin thread when I use my Juku quilting machine. You don't have to do this with this model.
Thank you. Do you know what the difference between the brother pe1900 and the 800? because i cant find the 800 at a reasonable price. its doubled in a few months in price. so i might as well get what i suppose this is an upgrade of that?
Hi Rita. The difference between these two is that the SE1900 provides Sewing and Embroidery capability. The 800 is just embroidery only. If you have a separate sewing machine that you really don't need the SE1900. Some folks like to have separate machines for sewing and embroidery. This machine does both really well which is why I like it. You don't have to use up alot of space in your room. One machine does both. The 800 and the SE1900 both use the 5x7 hoop. Hope this helps.
Oh wow thanks, I’ve been looking for an answer online for weeks! Lol. I have 5 machines. I have two identical one threaded in white and one threaded in black and one vintage that used to be my Mother’s RIP and The rest are sleeping. Since I can’t find a 770/800 at a reasonable price I might buy the 1900 because they are practically the same price. 🙄. I don’t have a problem having backup. Better to be prepared. Thank you very much!
Hi RG! Glad you found the video to be helpful. Sorry about the camera. This was one of the first videos I did. Hoping I can get better with time! Enjoy your machine. I love mine!!!
This was the best intro for a sewing embroidery machine I have ever seen. You are a wonderful teacher!!!

Great video!
I’ve had my SE1900 for about 2 years, love it. Just a few things to help out,
1) When winding bobbin, it will start to slow down as it gets full.
Barbara Nance thank you sweetie xxx :-)
ms. Barbara do you know if this is as good as the brother pe800? is this better? how so. tia
The tension on ANY sewing machine gives me fits!! Thank you Barbara for that info. I certainly will remember it!!
Very good tips. I have had my SE 1900 machine for one hour. I am looking so forward to using it with confidence.
Thank you so much! I have been struggling with the Manuel and watching your video saved me so much time. Love your video.

@@BoricuaSewingCrafts it took me a few times to figure it out rather than look at the huge manual. It scares me.
Haha.
Hi Barney, I'm so glad you where about to get it! Have fun with your machine!
So when is your next video. And is there a way that all the stabilizzer comes off or are we going to have it there. Thank you. The old Irish guy. Haha
I want to try making a bib for my gratgrandson. And I see where they use a water stabilizer on top not sure why. The old irish guy. Thank you
@@barneybarney4989 Yes use the water stabilizer on top. You need this so the thread doesn't sink in the towel.

You are so welcome! Have fun with your machine!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
This is a fantastic video... so simple to understand. Thank you!
You're very welcome! Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your SE1900!
Love looking at your videos. I’ve been so nervous about using my machine. I feel so much better after looking at your videos. Please more videos
Thanks Phyllis! I'm glad that are you enjoying the videos. This machine is really neat. I will definitely continue to make more videos.
Thank you so much for the simple steps!!!
the best tutorial i’ve ever seen!! thank you! 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for all your informative videos! My husband just bought me this same machine and your videos were so helpful!
You are so welcome!
Mine just arrived today! So excited to try all the stitches and then start embroidering.
Thank you, I absolutely love your videos.
Hi Alexis! You are so welcome! Glad you enjoy them! Happy Sewing and Embroidering!
I loved this video! You completely answered all my questions and explained it beautifully!! Thank you so much, I for sure subscribed!
You're so welcome! I'm so glad it helped. Enjoy your machine!!!
That is awesome! Enjoy your new machine! I love the thread cutter function too. It's my favorite.
Have You ever done a tutorial on cleaning this machine..??? I have had a lot of different machines…and being 87 years old I cannot stress enough on how important it is to remember to clean out machines….makes them run way better and longer…You do a WONDERFUL TUTORIAL YOUNG LADY…
Yes. I have one. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/ATXMppx58Oo/w-d-xo.html
Hi Ed. I learned the hard way that you have to clean the machine. It started acting up and then my mom asked me when was the last time I cleaned it. I was like huh???? LOL.... Now I clean it every week!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm a beginner. Your video helped a lot. Appreciate you.🤩
Glad you like it!!! Enjoy your machine and Embroidering!!!’
Honestly Very Very Helpful !! Love your Videos
Happy to help!
Thanks for your video. I just got a se 1900 and your video really help me.
Hi Justine. Glad this video was able to help. Enjoy your new machine. You will love it!
@@BoricuaSewingCrafts thks :)
Awesome video!! Thank you for posting it!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
So so helpful! Thank you for taking the time to do this!
Any time!
Really loved how close up you were on the auto needle threader! Thanks ; ? )
Thanks Diana. Glad it helps! Appreciate the support!
You are a great a teacher. Thank you.
Thanks Joanne!!!
I so needed this !!! It helped me out so much to get started! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you. Much respect and success
Gracias. Me regalaron una de esas. Ya sabia usar la brother de coser pero ya me atrevo a usarla.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Excellent video, very down to earth and straight forward. Your son did an excellent job as well! Do you use the disc that goes on to hold the thread on? I didn’t see you use it in the video.
Hi! I rarely use to.
You are so thorough! I enjoyed your tutorial they really helped me. Thanks!
Hi Dolores! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Hope you can join me on Fridays at 8pm. EST. for Happy Embroidery Hour. Love sharing more tips!
Thank you, this video was incredibly helpful!!!!
Hi Margaret! You are so welcome! Glad it helped. Enjoy your machine!
Thank you. Great tutorial. The best!
You're welcome!
When you thread the machine for bobbin winding you have to thread up to number 1 then up to number 2 then over to the right. Might be why your bobbins were loose. There wasnt any tension on your thread.
Hi Julie. thanks! I'll going try that!!! I would love to be able to wind my own bobbins. Sometimes you want a color other than black or white.
This was so helpful! Thank you.
Hi Asya! Thanks I'm glad to hear that I plan on making more videos very soon. It's really a great machine.
Boricua Sewing & Crafts I’ll be watching! I'm on my way to pick up the machine now. I feel inspired, and now is the perfect time to invest and learn. Also, what type of thread do you sew with for regular sewing and embroidery?
@@AsyaMcDonald Use Polyester thread. It's stronger.
Hi Paul what is that little black thing on the j foot and what is use for
That is part of the foot.
Hi, thanks for this video. You did the best video about SE1900. I have the same machine.
Hi Chris, Glad you liked it! I love the SE1900. It's great machine.
Thank you for the great video. I watched your video and my machine arrived. That item you aren't sure of is a seam ripper. Just have to pull it apart.
Ruth Thanks! Funny I was staring at this stick for the longest asking myself "What is this for?" LOL.
Thank you so much ! Learned a lot ! Would you please give me the link of the prewound bobbins ?
Check out the link in the video description. My Amazon Storefront has the links to all the items I use.
I got the Brother Pe1900! For less than the price pe800! Brand new! and I got insurance too for $100. Ty
OMG-Best video ever!!! Going to subscribe 😊
Great tutorial, but the camera work made me a little dizzy. Thank you to you both for showing how to use this machine. :)
Hi RG! Glad you found the video to be helpful. Sorry about the camera. This was one of the first videos I did. Hoping I can get better with time! Enjoy your machine. I love mine!!!
