Take your 20# tank and place it in a plastic milk crate for added tip over protection .

Isn't the tank heavier then the crate? It seems like the tank would tip the crate over to.

@@livinglife4921 probably depends on amount of fresh air coming in, cross wind, etc. Also depends on high, med or low and length of time. If you start to get dizzy and feel sick to your stomach, time to call 911. After becoming violently ill, I ended up in hospital, would have died about an hour longer. Of course I had a nap while it was going. Never ever again.

@@livinglife4921 One safer way is to burn Rubbing Alcohol. Pack a coffee can w/toilet paper. Saturate w/90+% isopropyl alcohol. Light it and it puts out a lot of heat.
And, isopropyl alcohol produces VERY little carbon monoxide unless in a low oxygen environment. The combustion byproducts are CO2 & water.

I have both the single and dual head heaters I use to heat my little shop. I always have my exhaust fan running and a fresh air opening when running them. Those CO2 headaches are nasty. I have what is called an "Elephant Trunk" for the single head that I often used for starting cold diesels in the bush. It is an 10 inch, insulated collapsible (horizontally) hose that fits about 6 inches from the head and it has a booster 12V fan (my design) to move the hot air. 10 minutes heating up a diesels intake (no air cleaner) and they usually start right up at -30C. Like you say old friend they can be dangerous and can start a fire in no time. They should never be left unattended. The trunk can be used to safely heat oil pans and hydraulic tanks. It is always good to see you my friend. Each post is one closer to move in day. Your castle awaits eh.

We used one back in the ice storm of '07 during a 24 hour blackout to keep the living room warm while everyone sat in the living room and talked with oil lamps burning. We kept a window cracked and opened the front door about every 30 minutes to circulate in fresh air. I don't recall any headaches or anything. It was quite pleasant, actually. We considered putting it in the fireplace, but the heater on the tank was too tall. Actually, we would have burned wood if we had some. Our family has experience in using gas stoves in older home back before it was illegal to have a gas stove in a bedroom, so we knew about the fresh air thing.

I have both a single burner and a double burner. Use them in my (vary non air tight ) garage. Good simple heaters. Just use common sense , 1; they consume Oxygen and 2: they get INCREDIBLY hot and will burn or melt anything that gets too close. Also have a small 3,000 BTU unit that uses 1 LB tanks. GREAT in a pop up hunting blind or emergency. Ontario Canada .

You can figure out how long your propane tank will last without lighting the heater. Your heater uses 15,000 BTUs per hour at high setting (9,000 on low, 13,000 on medium). Divide that into the number of BTUs in your propane tank or bottle. That will tell you how many hours of heat you'll get. 1 gal of propane has 91,500 BTUs or 21,500 BTUs per lb. You'll get about 6 hrs of useable heat per gallon or 1.3 hrs of heat per lb of propane. Propane weighs 4.11 lb per gallon. Times will vary becasue the density of propane changes with temperature and sometimes the fuel amount varies as to who's filling the tank. On low setting, you should get about 38 hrs of useable heat.

Most flammable gasses, except maybe small tanks like the 1-LB green propane tanks, have a left hand thread. Only oxygen has right-handed threads, so it's impossible to cross them. I live in FL and it's new years eve 22/23 and at 9pm it's 75. We did just have our coldest week so far this year. It made it all the way down to 53, so not really much use for one of these, but it was pretty interesting. Very surprising how long it burned. Someday I may move farther North and I will remember this video.

We use one burner on a triple for extra heat when it gets in the teens outside. It runs for 12 hours at a time and we get 48 to 50 hours out of a 20 lb. tank. It helps keep our 1700 sq. ft. home around 70 degrees all night long. No I would not use it in a car , van , tent or anything with a low ceiling due to the intense heat rising straight up from the burner shield. In a house with 8 foot ceilings or a workshop its not an issue. As for being well ventilated they make vent less blue flame wall heaters that can use the same 20 , 30 or 100 lb. propane tanks and condensation from burning propane is a bigger issue than CO2 or carbon monoxide.

My hope is the day old chicks will move as close to the heated sheet metal as they need to be. Might be more economical then burning gasoline. Or perhaps a self made pelat stove surrounded by metal.

As mentioned in this video ventilation is key and it's not meant for indoor use but since our heat pump system even on Emergency/Auxiliary heat couldn't keep up I was desperate. Don’t know where you live but gas in Houston 2.40 a gallon. And you’re complaining. lol. Drill your own well. Process it. You save lots of money. Ps. Stock market almost at record highs. You’re complaining again? You should’ve invested all your money under your buddy. He’s only filed bankruptcy six times owing over 900 million invest like he does. Then you can file bankruptcy.

What was the temperature inside the room? Just curious because I need a portable heater in my 1 car garage.

Way better than this crappy 750 watt fanless radiant space heater I have. Hell my toaster warms the room up better.

Other than the shape of the apparatus and being easier to connect to a 20-lb propane tank what is the difference between that and a Mr Buddy heater
