It's a fun way to learn and grow as a producer / song writer. I actually want to make a video talking about the process it took to write some of these pieces and the techniques / theory I use in the writing process.

Yes! Hisaishi is a huge influence on my work and the B section of this piece was inspired by his work on the Ponyo soundtrack. I've done several deep dives into his music and watched tons of theory videos on his stuff as well as my own research and analysis :)

So many questions. I guess its just luck. Or perfect pitch. Maybe they just think differently. (Pop artists)

The cool thing about art and music is that alot of the time these things HAVE been done before! I use alot of techniques found in the writing of Japanese composers such as Joe hiasaishi. I'll literally comb through their writing and figure out what makes it tick and incorporate some of those techniques into my own works! Just some insight on the process, thanks for listening :)
very late reply (my bad) I don't remember the exact VST I used but I remember is was apart of the Spitefire LABS collection which is an entirely free library. I would check it out. They have a lot of great sounds and a couple of good piano patches

The tune is so lovely :) I love the variety within this too, like how some parts sound very lively and upbeat and some parts have a kind of sweet tranquility. Like cloud shadows passing over soft field of flowers, hilltop scenery. I work full time so what time I do have free I like to focus on making new music instead.
