This song actually hits differently as an adult, I just realised that it's about seasonal depression and the importance of friendship. When you think you're alone even the smallest things can make you lose it... Like your snow golem dying in a block game.

@@smoothbrained4channer976 the ending is lowkey motivational when we learn his parents actually don't hate him that much and he actually has friends who want to hang out with him, in their own way - who he thought just didn't invite him to their party. Idk, maybe it's just the way I interpret the ending. It's possible that his friends really didn't invite him to a party because he was being unsociable or aggressive, but we don't know that. Sometimes it really is mostly in your head, but the ways he copes with these feelings (drinking, outbursts/laziness getting him fired) are not healthy at all and these actions can themselves lead to loneliness.
I think it's symbolic that all the houses in his neighbourhood look the same as his, everybody goes through things like this, especially around the holidays when you realise you have to repeat everything next year.

Since he knows he still has his friends, and family, he's probably a lot more likely to pick him self up after the new year than spiral further into the direction he was heading. Though it's likely this won't be the last time he has self-doubting thoughts. All you can do for people like this, besides being there for them, is hoping they can push through it and get their lives back on track.
Honestly they didn't need to add so much depth to a song called "Minecraft Christmas", but I guess the cheesy title also reflects how fragile the MC''s belief that his Christmas (and by extension, life) can be a good or fulfilling one, without other people in it, actually is...
