"The people that work with her say Gal Gah-DOH, so they're all wrong." she couldn't be more right. Also, whoever correct Saoirse is wrong again. Its Gal Ga-DOT (with a soft t) not Gal Ga-DOTE. Christ..
everyone thought it was ga-doe. i personally thought it was ga-dot. but actually is a hybrid. ga-doete. she said it herself 100 times now.
It all comes down to your own personal accent I believe. The American press for years kept calling her Gal Gah-DOH even when she politely corrected them. Especially during the press junkets/tour for Wonder Woman the interviewers nearly always pronounced it that way (Gah-DOH), including Chris Pine of all people. Gal's Israeli accent I believe throws people off too slightly when she herself says her name. It does at times sound like she's saying Ga-DOETE as you've said but she's pretty much made it crystal clear it's Ga-DOT "with a soft t at the end" as she said in a recent interview.
Nope it is pronounced gal ga-dote, check out her glamour interview
I think we're all going hear and pronounce her name differently just by the various different ways we hear its pronounced on a daily basis. I'm just going by what i've personally heard her say with regards to hows its pronounced. I hear "Ga-DOT" and if others hear differently well so be it.

I never ever heard someone say her name as Gal Gah-DOH. Where the hell T goes at the end?
If you haven’t seen her in Brooklyn, go watch it.
Eugene Grewing also Lady Bird!
Eugene Grewing She's amazing in it. And the movie itself is lovely
I've seen her in everything! Lol She is the best in Hanna...
That's a beautiful film indeed
One of my favorite movies
Even the people in the back didn’t pronounce Nikolaj coster-waldau right
nat Yeah. That was kind of stupid. She didn’t do it correctly, and they certainly didn’t either. Haha
It's Nikolaj
Look at the blue in the eyes of this beautiful and talented actress. Simply breathtaking.
Irish Princess
Ms. nobody I think her parents are Irish
believe NOTHING She has said repeatedly that she is Irish, how is she American?
Queen
1:24
she said ”what?", which sounded like "чего", which is also "what" in Russian, which is pronounced like cheewoh/chivo/whatever
very natural, I thought I misheard it, but it's real, so sweet :)
Господи я подумала у меня глюки
Мне послышалось "чмо"😂😂
сижу ахуел от этого

Love that two of the Gilmore Boys are on here
she seems so lovely! ♥
Actually they pronounced Manganiello and Ventimiglia wrong even when they corrected her...
Vero
Yep, you're right. They can't pronounce the sound -gn for Ventimiglia and the -i for Manganiello, what's wrong with them? 😂
Yeap, they seem like Italian names but they don't pronounce the 'nie' and they add that 'oh' sound at the end.
@@jenniferaguilera2087 if I take a lesson of italian grammar they won't get names wrong anymore 😂
Joe Mangojello.
She's lovely and fucking talented, it's crazy to have 3 well deserved Oscar nominations at 23
Her reaction for the first mistake was priceless!😂😂😂👏🏻😭♥️
I adore Saoirse Ronan!! She is fantastic in Brooklyn.. I've seen it about 50 times since it was released.
I love Saoirse Ronan she’s so pretty and kind and I love her accent
and soo good atctres
1:25 ЧЕГО?
Maxim Kan мне кажется что она сказала «ччч whaaat» но с акцентом ! :) («вуот?!»)
Also noticed that. And I’m like “Chevo?!!”
Она реально сказала чего, посмотрите на английские субтитры
Ха-ха, I just went back and listened to that 😂
хахаха - она сказала 'wot?'
My favourite colour is blue, this lady's eyes have taken that to a whole other level
1:25 - sounds like russian "чего?" (chego?), which means "what?".
I heard it as well.
All About Games I WAS SEARCHING FOR THIS COMMENT
Чево ?
Я искала подобный коммент)))
Ok but neither Manganiello nor Ventimiglia are pronounced as they suggested 😂 but Milo himself says it wrong so...oh well (Leoni was also wrong but close so that could be a pass)
Disgruntled Sloth one of my late friends last names was Ventimiglia, pronounced it the same way she did and not the way she was corrected. Though, names become Americanized.
Nicholas Faith you're right and it's perfectly legitimate how the pronunciation of originally foreign names shifts to suit the language of where people leave, especially through generations, but i since the topic of this video i decided to act nitpicky 🤣
i wouldn't correct anyone in everyday life!
The way she pronounced is the anglophone way, in which two consonants together are pronounced separately (like in romantici-sm or when english people pronounce bolo-gn-a); this is perfectly normal considering her first language is English. However, in Italian these sounds are pronounced together, so they are right in correcting her on that (however in italian the sound pronouncing "gli" is not as a "l" like they pronounced it, but almost like the "y" in "year" or "yes")
Italian is pretty easy to pronounce, though.
Disgruntled Sloth I know right? 😂
1:45 She got that completely wrong, it’s pronounced ‘Jess Mariano’
Darth Batman Also true, but Jess will alway have a special place in my heart 👨🏻❤️
u forgot logan huntzberger!
She is my absolute favorite. I could listen to her talk all day. I didn't realize how much I love the Irish accent until she started talking! And those eyes.... beautiful.
0:56 Saoirse: Nikolay Coster *WalDO*
Women: Close, Nikolay Coster *WalDO*
Right: Nicolay Coster *WalDAU*
*_Both pronounce surname wrong._*
1:28 Saoirse: Maksim *SHmer* kov sky
Woman: Maksim *CHmer* kov sky
Can't they correctly emphasize the mistake? In second case *_Saoirse was mistaken in the first syllable_* of a surname, but not in the second.
Half of the Gilmore Girls cast is there LOL
TheStepmonkey which ones are they? I can't tell oops..
More like half of Rory's boyfriends are there xD
In what universe is “kov” pronounced “kove?”
Like ???
'Murica lmao
Right ? 😂 it’s literally ‘kov’ no need to americanise it
That's America for you. It's like 95% of the country was born unable to pronounce non English names. I can't even tell you how many different pronunciations I've heard of my name, "Sean." It's 4 fucking letters! How many pronunciations of that sound like a name? One!
Meerkat More wouldn’t it make sense for Americans to not know how to pronounce non English names
@@Ryan-vz3tb It would if non English speakers were equally bad when it came to English names. Generally, that isn't the case. Also, it's only Americans. The British, Irish, Australians, and Canadians are generally pretty good at pronouncing foreign names
I love her she's so adorable ❤️💙
Nikolaj Coster Waldau is not pronounced like that
To be fair, the pronunciations passed as 'correct' are just the ones the actors usually use in English and, although close, are still not exactly how you pronounce them in their native tongues.
I’m a bit surprised they didn’t ask her to say Jake Gyllenhaal as well 😂
I was waiting for that one and Emily Ratakowski
I fall in love with her every time i see her.
She's hanna from the movie with the same name right?
Darn I couldn't forget her Eyes. It was my first time watching her and I couldn't brush it off of my head

Yup that’s her
I wonder if you watched Alexandra Daddario eyes since? 🤔
@@fix24311 ikr, they both have the most mesmerizing eyes i’ve ever seen..... can’t choose my favorite
You have no idea how happy it makes me that they included Maks as a celebrity!!!!!!! I LOVE DWTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saoirse is a truly delightful human being
God im so in love with her accent and shes so adorable with her personality
0:29 Sweetest voice I've heard in my whole life
really? no Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje? no Quvenzhane Wallis?
nevertheless, Saoirse Ronan is lovely
i think they went for people who are more relevant..
moonbeeps One is the youngest girl ever nominated for Best Actress, the other is Killer Croc in the DCEU
Never heard of them, ever. And I'm no kid.
well it's definitely harder than gal gadot's name
Maksim Chmerkovskiy is not more relevant than the guy from Suicide Squad, come on.
Maybe Saoirse didn't want to butcher black people's names.
I'm watching this just to listen to that amazing accent.
1:23 Максим чего?
Why did she used russian word? oO
hahaha, she said ch-what?, but it does sound like чего :D
well, I highly doubt that, it does sound more like what, but yeah it was funny haha
She's a doll 😂
Jannah Roslauvb.
L on zx.wtl
i've been pronouncing Ralph Fiennes as "Ralf Fiyenes" wow goddamn
It's Rafe, like Rafe Spall. But it sounds like people are saying 'Ray' because the F on the end gets drowned out by the beginning of Fiennes. Oddly it is not unusual to spell Rafe as Ralph in the UK.
Gadot is from french origin. The T could very well be silent, but you's have to ask Gal herself, sometimes the same family names have different pronounciations due to time and region between different branches of that same family name.
The way she says "whaat" in Maksim Chmerkovskiy is just wonderful.
Same manner like Gavin lol
it sounded alot like whaaaaaat in russian (and maksim speaks russian I believe)
+Emma it actually did, I just noticed that!
LMAO, I laughed out loud at that.
eralcen МНЕ ТОЖЕ ПОКАЗАЛОСЬ ЧТО ОНА СКАЗАЛА "ЧЕГО" и я офигела
i love this woman so much!! and her eyes...masterpiece.
Huge LOL - nikolaj “Coster” is pronounced just the way Saoirse is pronouncing it!
nope. The difference is the open or close vowel.
Antonella De Florio what I’m saying is that how the woman correcting her is saying it is wrong. I’m Danish so I should know, right? 🤷🏽♀️🧐
now it's clear ;)
Antonella De Florio perfect 🤙🏽
they also pronounce Tea Leoni in the wrong way... it's Tay-ah Lay-oni, not Leeoni... common mistake for english speakers :)
not me staring at her blue eyes during the entire interview...
1:00 popsugar corrected her wrongly. They didn’t even pronounce his name right.
Saoirse Ronan should marry Maksim Chmerkovskiy just for his last name
..and live in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch happily ever after.
That would make things 100x more complicated
That would be fantastic. But he is already married
@@charliem6986 adopting?
@@finnslibrary2189 what are you talking about? I mean Saoirse can just change her name legally whenever she wants but she can't marry Maksim because he is already married
Overly excited about two Gilmore Girls actors on here. 🤷🏼♀️
Her "What?!" was so cute when she saw Maksim Chmerkovskiy's. name.
nikolaj coster waldau isn't pronoucned like they suggested...
"You give me that one."
You tell 'em, Saoirse!
1:25 есть тут русские, мне одному послышалось "чаво"?
Больше напишу, мне показалось "чмо".
It's funny even the interviewer didn't pronounce Gal Gadot's first name right, saying Gal like a lady instead of the ah sound in Gall
The way she said: "Is it???" About gal gadot xDDD ❤️❤️❤️
Anyone else notice two of Rory’s ex-boyfriends (from Gilmore Girls) on that list?
Dolphin Dreamer I wish they had added Jared Padalecki even though his name is pronounced exactly as it’s spelled, it just would have been cute to have the whole trio in there.
Could Jared's surname also be "Pada-Letski?"
@@APH1991 that's how you really pronounce it
