As you said a while back , it would cost a fortune to repair that pier , very sad indeed.When I was at sprey yesterday, my mate said he saw Mike and Bernie winters at the end of the pier . On a lighter note, they are running the bay trips in Dawlish again from the Breakwater … happy days ! Enjoy the sunshine 🌞
I heard (on Facebook) that it might be coming down soon... No idea if true, but the person that said it holds some validity in my mind... Dont remember 'Mike' But I remember Bernie Winters and Schnorbitz from back in the day 👍👍

Saw you filming at around the 7.30 min point Bill. I was taking a short walk along the seafront and ended up walking to Dawlish Warren. The pier needs to be sold to someone who is willing to invest money into its future. Maybe a nice cafe to attract people onto it who might then spend more money. It used to be great with all the rides. The ladybird ride was there when I was a kid in the 70's and was iconic right up until the 2010's. The pier has never looked so bad and is one of Teignmouths main attractions. One of only 2 in Devon. It must be saved. And what about the fairy lights along the promenade! They were taken down when the lamp posts were replaced and never put back up. Do the council think we haven't noticed? The seafront looks so dull in the nightime now without them.
You are completely correct mate - In truth, Teignmouth is decaying, little by little, at an alarming rate. Obviously, I try and keep everything upbeat and positive in the videos, but every day, I see yet another thing that needs to be dealt with, but isn't. The famous lie about the lights on the seafront? There's no power outputs on those poles to power them. Use LEDs then, people said - Extreme low power... Nope, "There's no power outputs on those poles to power them" - Yet they have strung up all those CCTV cameras along the same poles... I doubt they run on batteries! Anything to save money. Money which obviously ISN'T going to get used on Teignmouth.... 👍
@@BillsPhoneTeignmouth How about solar powered lights, I think I've seen those. When is anything happening with the pier? They abandoned the wider end part to demolish it to focus on the rest of the outside, but its all closed and rotting apart from a tiny section. It used to be so good walking out the end and seeing people enjoying the rides. All I see is a few people spending two pence coins on the pier, that can't sustain much. The little towers outside with the viewers you look through have been neglected and are rotting. Whats the point if nothing is looked after. I can see the pier collapsing into the sea soon in a storm and when its gone its gone forever like lots of others.

My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think it is something that back in the olden days people called it the sun or some such. 😂😂😂 That was nice for you to bump into more subscribers while you are out. It's disgusting to see how much the end of the pier has decayed. There's no way the owners of it will ever spend the money on it to get back into shape. See you tomorrow mate. 👍👍👍
I came across an artistic orchid last time i was in England,but haven't seen it on your channel yet, If you go to the salty dog,go up Holcombe Lane and up the top there is a little waterfall, there you must go a little further, not sure it is private or for public. Do you know it.

I think I know where you mean - I believe that's now a private area, part of the private road that contains houses along the top of the cliffs 👍
