  • Razer have launched a new update for existing users of the Huntsman Mini Analog and V2 Analog keyboards. This introduces Rapid Trigger, and here's a very quick rough and ready video explaining what it is and why it's great!
    Expecting big things from Razer moving into 2024!

      Didn't work for me either until I did a reset of the keyboard.
      But try making a new profile. On my old profiles the rapid trigger don't work. If that doesn't work try a reset, Settings (Gear icon top right) -> Reset.

    Hi. Ive already ordered the huntsman te and some questions
    If i train myself to always apply low force and actuate it near to a millimetre, will it give the same feel as the rapid trigger feature? Im so 😢

    • @justnvc
      @justnvc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but not really since that's impossible to do reliably. On other switches you could use o-rings but they don't work with the opto-mechanical design.

    • @justnvc

      I believe both will work (you'll probably need to set 6kro on the wooting), but since razer rapid trigger requires synapse running on this generation of keyboards, only the wooting might provide rapid trigger for this generation on keyboards.

      I would say not to buy a keyboard solely for rapid trigger.
      If you only care about rapid trigger then get the Wooting. It does it better even if only slightly. Less deadzones of the keys, slightly more accurate on activation (doubt humans can notice 0.3mm give or take but still) and more range of play. If that is worth it or not is personal preference. Both keyboards do the same rapid trigger

  • @giakhangtruong54

    How do you think this compared to the one on the Wooting 60HE. How much does it actually affect the in-game performance

    • @justnvc
      @justnvc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not an easy question to answer in a few lines, will probably make a longer video on it, either here on through stream. At equivalent settings they'll be close but the Wooting likely edges out on additional features. I measure about a 2ms difference in latency, but a part of that might be due to the difference in how heavy the switch is, so it's probably within a millisecond of eachother. If you use a Razer mouse though, there are additional benefits on that side too with e.g. Hypershift.

    This rapid trigger implementation is interesting, but not as good as wooting/hall effect sensor switches. The razer measures in steps which are small but they're still steps and uses optical switches so it cannot get that 0.1mm rapid trigger release like hall effect can. Its more like 0.3mm which is still really good but compared to wooting/hall effect there is a delay

    • @Antside

      steelseries have said they are working on implementing rapid trigger on the apex pro. how do you think it will compare to the wooting and the razer keyboard?

    • @RoastedSushii
      @RoastedSushii ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Antside I think steelseries implementation will be far better than razers, but I have a feeling it will be slightly worse than wooting still (though not by much) due to the apex pro "only" being able to actuate at 0.2mm compared to wooting 0.1mm which tells me there is a bit of a difference in the sensor reading. Gonna be bascially the same though

      Both Razer and Apex sensors are not 1-1 accurate. 0.3mm could mean 0.1mm or 0.6mm etc. Razer even says on it's site that it "estimates" (at least they are honest). Apex senor change was more marketing baloney then anything but it does "work". Wooting is surprising pretty accurate to what it says. Off by maybe 0.1-0.2 +- on some keys but depends on board you get.
      Does this really matter? Doubtful but shows areas of possible improvement for the other boards.
      With my Apex pro I had some keys greatly off vs others which creates a noticeable inconsistency.. however this is not noticeable at low activation points due to human limitations. However Razer Rapid trigger and most likely SteelSeries rapid trigger (if they dont change the boards/sensors/design) will have a fairly large dead zone for the keys. Meaning the activation and rapid trigger areas will possibly be only within 60% or so of the whole key movement. So currently Wooting (with its 10-20% dead zone) is better for rapid trigger but who buys a keyboard for one thing and how often do you smash your keys?
      I imagine in the coming years this maybe the norm in keyboards but who knows. It is somewhat gimmicky and one could perform the same with shorter key activation boards. Its value is also greatly limited to games that have first shot accuracy/movement error and low TTK or button mashing type games.

  • @egaming2023
    @egaming2023 ปีที่แล้ว

    so, razer is still behind wooting because the actuation cannot be adjusted below 1.5mm down to the .1mm like the wooting. not that I would probably notice to be honest, wooting did nothing for me in overwatch 2 atleast.

    • @justnvc
      @justnvc  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use 1mm and 0.3mm on my Wooting, versus 1.5mm and 0.4+0.1mm rapid trigger on the Razer. The Razer get's close on their existing switch, but yeah they'll need a new one to go beyond. It's a great feature for the existing keyboard though!
