    Thanks for the great tip! Now I can bake a cake and not have to rush to eat it before it goes bad or gets stale. It’s just me now but, I’d still rather have my home made cake rather than a slice from the store! Thank you my friend!

    • @TheBijouBaker

      Thawing is pretty quick, depending on the size of the cake. You can just break the seal, it will thaw faster, or remove it completely if you want to keep the decorations just keep its loosely covered. Either way you'll have a delicious treat. Happy baking my friend

    Thank you for this tip. So, once you remove from the freezer to thaw in the fridge why can't we remove the plastic and aluminum wrap? I am worries that it will ruin the frosting while thawing in the fridge.

    • @TheBijouBaker
      @TheBijouBaker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You certainly can, the biggest key is to let it thaw gently. In the fridge the Buttercream will still be firm enough to pull the foil and/or wrap away from the cake. Once it comes to room temperature then you'll have issues with the icing pulling away and getting messy

    • @TheBijouBaker
      @TheBijouBaker  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can freeze fur a month. The wrap will destroy the wiped cream decorations but aside from that make extra sure the paddock wrap is hugging Any exposed cake is closer and as tight as possible.
      I have frozen wiped cream cakes knowing I will need to touch it up when it's thawed

    • @TheBijouBaker
      @TheBijouBaker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it's fresh YES, but once it's frozen, it removes all air which is good, when you take it out & open it, let it sit a bit and it's just right 🤗🤗🤗

  • @sqwrrl
    @sqwrrl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m planning to bake and decorate a rectangular cake, 5 days before my event. Will it lose quality, just refrigerated for 5 days in a cake saver, or do I need to wrap it even if it’s in a cake saver? And is refrigeration enough, or should I freeze it, then thaw it on the 5th day?

    • @TheBijouBaker
      @TheBijouBaker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For that Ling, after it has cooled completely wrap the cake itself in plastic wrap in both directions. IF you have the room to freeze it that's best, take it out 24 hours or so before you are going to decorate it. If not, just make sure it's wrapped well. You'll be just fine. You can make your icing early as well. Chill or freeze it in an airtight container, bring it to room temperature and rewhip it before use. You'll do great. Happy baking my friend 💕

    • @sqwrrl
      @sqwrrl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @TheBijouBaker
      @TheBijouBaker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can certainly keep it in just the saver. The thing that matters is keeping air from getting to it. Air is the biggest enemy of food so keeping it in the saver should be just fine.
