I only fished on Sunday late half of the day until dark. Not one hit live crawfish. And many different lures.. I was at Whimpys. One guy did tell me he had a big big one get off at the boat. He came from the south of the marina. I wanna catch a fish. I did meet Douglas, he is a game warden really nice. I asked a few questions and he told me everything I needed to know.. He said they have been watching you since the early 80’s He is a very nice guy. We talked about you for hours. If you don’t take me fishing soon!?!? Douglas and I are willing to take you down Fong. It’s Your Choice Kid. HahahaN Again. I can’t catch a fish so I have to poach a spot on your boat.
Yes it's on fire for those eagle lake trout now. So much fun as they jump and fight hard and I bet the kids had a ball! Great job and good table fare as well.
Good report Alan, thanks. Can you tell me how fast you troll the pro-troll dodger white hoochie rig at Folsom for salmon? Tied some up from your video and will give it a try this week. Love the bobber stop single bead idea!
Alan how many feet of line out when trolling the shallow runners? And when you said the speed is that gps speed or the fish finder paddle wheel speed? I really would love for you to do a super in depth trolling for stripers video. I’m having trouble. Don’t know if my lure is close enough to the bottom or if I have enough line out. And don’t know the best speeds. And when do you decide to troll deep or shallow runners? Do you just wing it? Do you leave the boat in gear when you’re hooked up? Or put in neutral? What about all the other lines out? Bring em in when there’s a hook up or leave em out?
I'm letting out around 100-130 ft line using 30# braid line. Use your GPS ground speed and it's a refrence point that I can stay at or adjust until I get the lure to work right.I'm using my sonar to let me know where the fish are but stripers this time year are usually in shallow water feeding. With shallow running yourzi they go about 6-8 feet down and I troll about 3-5 MPH depending which direction I'm going. I use a light tip rod so I can see the movement of my lure and I can tell if the trick worm got taken off too. After hooking up if the fish is small I keep going but if it's taking drag then I reel in all rods and take motor out gear and drift.
They had a plant scheduled and the stocking truck broke down. And people were upset but it was out of their control. So now they might of changed their rules about telling people.
Merritt Island but launch at your own risk (no big boats) Garcia Bend closed and don't think Discovery Park open yet? Miller Park might be open? I'd make some calls before heading out.
No I don't use SI when trolling for stripers. I use my 2D and live target mainly to keep me in the right depth. You still need to know where the fish are feeding in depth and structure. Your electronics are tools and you still have to have the fishing knowledge to find them and use the tools to stay in the strike zone.
i've been after landlocked salmon at folsom using your hoochie video knowledge. can you tell me what the bag limit for salmon is at folsom, i would like to keep some for dinner some times but can't find the info.
Live scope has it's advantage but the other day I could see the stripers and they wouldn't bite lol But at time I can see their reaction to my lures ands catch them.

NO weights as the yozuri lure will dive down 6-8 ft. Use 30# test braided line with a 3ft 25# test mono line. Let out 100 ft and troll 3-5 mph depending which way your going up stream or down.
@@AlanFong Hi Alan, I got my first striper finally! Thanks for the tip! I used a 10/12 feet diver Yo Zuri with the white trick worm. Much appreciated :)
100 to 130 yards back, you'll need to use the right rod to see the lure working right. There is a trick to doing this the right way and catching lots fish.
Thank you for the updates!!

should get going after this Rain
There are lots stripers in the system now best get out there

How's the fishing for landlocked king salmon at berryessa
Still slow but the trout bite is pretty good. Something weird about that lake for the kings. Guys are catching a few but not like is should be.
Do you use side-imaging sonar while trolling for delta stripers? How do you determine when fish are shallow versus deep?

Land lock kings limit is five fish, if there are kokanee in the lake then combined limit is five also.
