    I just bit the bullet on the 30g. My rationale was that I frequently fail to actuate the keys on my cherry MX reds, so I'm probably better served with a low actuation force.
    Hoping I didn't make a mistake as the leopolds are damn expensive!

      @@mariajamieioannou4375 my guess was right! I really like it. I still bust out my cherry mx red for gaming so I can mash the keyboard a bit more, but definitely enjoying 30g for every day use. If you like light keys go for it.

      @@LewisCampbellTech you fail to actuate on a red switch? you can try the gateron clear much softer. if you lube them they can also get really quiet. I have both clear and reds but silent version.

    How light is the 30g? Do you have a lot of misstypes coming from heavier switches like MX?

    • @TheTogoPogo
      @TheTogoPogo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Honestly I mistyped a bunch with the 30g, hence why I bought the 45g later. Even just resting your hand on the board in between typing would be heavy enough to press down keys

      I have experience using the Leopold and NiZ switches which is another kind of topre switch. I got to be honest they feel way better to type on then any mx switch. Although you do want to know what gram is best for you personally for me 35-40 is the right fit. You don’t want to use 30 or 25 imo because this could lead to inconsistent types.

      @@BIxtz nope they are different. Niz has no resistance on key down (means it is linear). Means, it feels more closer to the a cherry red but way lighter. Topre has a soft tactile feedback that let’s you know that the key has been pressed.

      For me, the 45g is more satisfying to type on since it requires more force and the 'thonk' is more pronounced. The 30g is way too light for gaming and I'd probably only recommend it for extended typing sessions, but even then it's not like the 45g is fatiguing in any way. The 30g switches sound more like a muted 'pop' than the normal 'thonk', which some people might prefer.
      I'll also say that typos on the 30g are much more frequent, despite the results of this video...
