Duplicating Mopar's Factory Organisol Textured Finish

DIY process for duplicating the original Organisol finish found on '60-70's Mopar muscle cars. Charger, Challenger, Barracuda. #streetclassicfablab
Organisol Formulation (PPG Single Stage)
4 parts DCC9355
3 parts DT885 reducer (slow)
1 part DCX61 hardener
1 part DX685 flattening agent
1/4 oz (per pint of mixed single stage) DX1999 texture additive. NOTE: your PPG jobber may need to substitute with an alternative texture additive.
Organisol Application & Technique
Spray using a 1.6mm or larger tip. Close the fan pattern until a "bullet" (tight circle) spray pattern is achieved. Spray at 30-40psi from ~3-4ft distance using a tight circular motion. During gun adjustment, be sure to continually check spray pattern and pressure as one adjustment impacts the other. Once the spray pattern and psi have been dialed in, spray 3-4 wet coats of Organisol reduced with slow reducer (the slower the better). Allow 30 minutes flash between coats. Check panel for coverage and apply additional coats as needed. Always alternate spray pattern - lengthwise/crossways to avoid any "tiger stripping".
