Another way to get to soft cap is the enclave....for some reason all crafted weapons increase your power substantially....
Edit** up to 1751 for some reason
I had crucible engrames from last season so I got to 1750 very fast like 4 missions early I think it a bug but might work for some advance gear

One thing you did not mention. If you are at 1760 total and get a 1765 piece of gear, that brings your power to 1760-5/8. At that point, any non-powerful/pinnacle drops will still be dropping at 1760, which won't help your power level at all if everything else is already at 1760. So, you need at least a +5 and a +3 to get to 1761, before you can start getting 1761 gear to bring your other 6 pieces of gear up.
I ended up 1589-7/8 at end of WQ because the last two weeks of pinnacles the RNG kicked my butt and never gave me that last 1590 where I needed it.
I’m sat at 1755 and only do the battlegrounds I find them way easier to do and understand
I’m at 1763 and been doing mission after mission and only gone up 2 from 1761 on step 15 out of 21 14 missions done for only 2 light level takes the complete joke
@@joshmcgeechan2291 I feel ya. I stopped trying to level up by doing +5's and +3's and just started playing for fun like dungeons and old missions. I'm at 1778 now. It's like Bungie made it so doing what they sold you doesn't level you up well.

The 'even out' thing is just simply: the drop is random around your average light, and the higher jump drop happens with the lower probability. So the best strategy is right after you got a big jump drop, you would want to get normal drops to make all your equipments to catch up - it happens with higher probability

I feel like lightfall needs a part 2 (final shape) to be better. It certainly feels like a part one. Gameplay was fun, but story was meh.

Almost done with the campaign . I kept getting bounced by the OG Thor movie robot . I thought the campaign was pretty good so far and wouldn’t say it was entirely easy . It’s actually fun getting bounced and not dying . One thing I found was to try to stay on the ground . I watch dudes in battlegrounds go out of the shell to retrieve ammo and get whipped or airborne on their way back plus them big dudes got “ splash damage /radial damage “ right , lol . Good times
I did it solo in one sitting on legendary. Cool story but im irritated all nightfall gm weapons are the same (already have em)...feels like half-a-DLc
Strand works in no way like in campaign. Felt like a eternal tutorial just to get it and strand cool down on grapple is unusable. OK rant out

@@Itz__Swifty only good grapple is hunters and even that is gimped in the long run. Strand seems weak AF compared to the other older options.
this is a great guide considering i haven’t played anything at all, not just destiny, since year 4, now coming back after 2 years and seeing everything effectively being reset was a shock

Awesome video! The only thing I guess you forgot to mention when “leveling out” before going for higher gear to make sure it’s for sure an increase, sometimes the rng just keeps giving you arms or helms, at that point we’re at the mercy of the drop gods.
Me, an average pinnacle chaser, "Oooooh that makes sense." I never really thought about the whole averaging out situation. I understood that the higher level I am the higher gear I got, but I never stopped and thought that I could use that to my advantage. 10/10 advice
Crafted weapons on the enclave are around 20 higher till soft cap.

Nimbus needs to have Upgrade Modules available for trade so we can’t save a trip to the tower and what not
Kinda forgot another big part. Once you max that character for the week, transfer a weapon from each slot to a different character. Then you can continue raising levels with their powerfuls and pinnacles.

That is not necessary, it calculates the light on weapons on other characters and in the vault and postmasters automatically, no need to transfer anything.
"evening out" is Definitely a difficult subject to explain, but I think you did a decent job with it. I would liken it to using your powerful or Pinnacle gear (depending as to what power level you're at) to LeapFrog your power level, then use regular drops to bring your other gear up to par, that way you can reserve your Pinnacle gear drops to LeapFrog your power level again. If you keep using Pinnacle gear over and over you're only going to see small increases in power level instead of those large leaps
This helped me a bit more than the video, but I’m still a bit confused.
So if I’m understanding “evening out” correctly, I need to get a pinnacle, infuse the item, then farm public events for an unspecified amount of time until I go collect another pinnacle. This is supposed to help me make bigger leaps in power.
Here’s where I’m confused:
- one pinnacle item will raise my overall power rating by maybe a single point - how is this going to help me get better loot in things like public events?
- how long should I farm public events before going back for another Pinnacle?
- I didn’t understand the creator’s instructions regarding the season pass; is he saying I should save my season pass items and use them as stand-in powerful/pinnacles?
@@jonathanellis5811 Power level of new gear functions off of your "over all total". Let's say all your gear is 1700, really any number but all about the same power level. Well a Pinnacle engram will be a huge jump there. But if your total light level average is dragged down with some gear only being 1650, then that Pinnacle engram (which you only have a certain number of each week) will be drop at a lower light level than if all your gear was as high as it could be.
So get all your gear as high as it can get, use your Pinnacle engrams to leap ahead in power level (or unlock the next tier after hitting those caps) then get the rest of your gear up to stat so your next Pinnacle engram's power isn't dragged down by low level gear.

In your example: that would mean all my weapons and armor would be brought to *at least* 1700?

@@jonathanellis5811 yes, though I'm using that term "average" without including those extra points from the seasonal artifact. So to be precise, get all your other armor & guns to be same power level as that new Pinnacle piece (I don't think you even need it equipped) and only then nab another Pinnacle.
But this really only applies if you're intensely grinding. Heck, I only get to play a few hours every week so for someone like me it really wouldn't matter

i dont get why it dropped from like 1885 base then whatever your season bonus was down to 1700 something.... why didnt it just started at your level minus the artifact bonus from season. Like start the season at 1885? Makes no sense to me and had no idea they were doing that.

I've been wondering why it takes me so long to level up my power level while I watch my clan mates, and those who did the first raid, get to 1800 while I'm sitting at 1770. You explained this so well, very easily understood. Instead of going after each powerful gear or pinnacle drop, im gonna try evening out. Thanks man! Keep up the great work!

So pretty much, get the pinnacle gear, but go for regular drops to even out the power lever for the other gear that you have. And that goes for all the level caps. Got it.

This video is all over the place and just found a way to spit the same "1750 is your soft cap but save powerful and pinnacle until after" for 15 minutes.
you can also do dares of eternity which gives like 10 pieces of equipment once every 5 dares(a bit based on luck)
What if you do the campaign on normal can you re-run it on legendary and get the armor?

Powerfuls actually help you min-maxing once you're at 1801-1809 for the pinnacle grind, so they're not totally useless

At this point I’m just trying to increase my light level so that I can do interesting stuff outside of Neomuna… the new exotics are really cool, but the campaign, story, characters hell, even the map has felt so incredibly underwhelming ): Looking forward to getting back to Nightfalls though👍

I’ve been working 12s lately, so I have almost no time to play before day 1. My strategy is pushing hard on the seasonal challenges for +10 on the season pass to be raid ready since I got +5 from my bounty prep. And then I can take my time on the campaign as well.
And most pinnacles and powerfuls are weekly. Do them. You’re going to lose like 2 days if you happen to hit a cap mid-week. Oh no. It’s the end of the world. Do them on another character if you can’t wait 3 days.
Save your keys and do your Starhorse bounties while getting the powerfuls/pinnacles from Dares to get a few Paraversal Hauls too. I wouldn’t wait too much for evening out. You should be able yo build it into your regular gameplay if you plan for it.

So I recently started playing and I'm in my 1760s. When I get gear say 1780 do I have to equip it to get higher reward later or I can keep it in my inventory? Cause most of the time higher gear doesn't have good stats so I'm using gear which has good stat but low score.
The only other thing id suggest is still try to get a ton of gear as your journey level between 6 and 7 requires you to hit 1800 WITHOUT artifact

So essentially. Get a powerful piece higher than your others. Maybe finish the stuff for other powerfuls but don’t accept them. Grind out some normal drops to level your gear out and then get your powerfuls that you finished earlier? Is that right?

Hi, good video. You only forget to mention that its only usefull to grap an item from your season pas if you an go up an overall level by grabbing it. If not its better to wait, maybe your next drop is the item you wanted. Than you wasted that item. I also have a question. Last wish, spite of watcher of profecy dungeon say pinnecle. Doe all encounters al all these give pinnecle or doe some encounter only give powerfull.
Spire of the watcher, yes. Everything else is the weekly rotator, which is only final encounter.
just the final boss on rotator raids. So just the Riven encounter will give you pinnacle.

Right now it's a glitch if you go to your vanguard and crucible Bender you can level out really quick I already level up 2 characters what is 1750 and the other one 1757

Despite the many, many years of playing Destiny and D2 I sometimes forget the artefact boosts your power level, so when the season ends and the artefact goes away, I log in, see the massive drop in power and am like "Where the f**k did my power go?....Oh yeah artefact." :P

Yes
Farming Public Events is so easy and they always have high value targets around. I farmed the EDZ for a few hours today and there's always a ton of other people doing the same thing. Learn how to promote public events to heroic events and learn what high value targets are going to show up near then and you'll be 1750 before you know it. This is also good because you're not using up Powerful gear engrams for the week/day.
Huh, mostly a good guide, but made a huge mistake by saying that powerful rewards are useless after 1800 because that is false. You use the powerful rewards to fill in any gaps where certain gear pieces have fallen behind the other gear. For example, you are able to get to 1805 total, but your bond is 1800 while your other gear is 1806-1807, then a powerful bond will be 1805. Can be super helpful.

It’s going to boost all the gear in your inventory to 1600 the moment you start it.

Hope this helps me im probably going to get light fall tomorrow and atm im 1665 without light fall i keep doing wellspring because it keeps dropping higher gear but the climb is very slow is there a faster way once i get light fall i know in witch queen i was behind on power cap by a lot as well

@@tuneboy6923 the difference in difficulty between normal and legendary is so minimal, there’s pretty much zero reason to not do it. Just don’t use strand if you don’t have to, and cheese the calus fight.

I had to keep telling myself to slow down and clear ads but got it done im 10 away from 1800 and it was all solo. My clan hasnt helped me since SoTP raid so ive been in it since beginning of d2 but they dont do much anymore
