Thekiler613 found a new route as well as a new glitch which lets you take Necronomicon without adding the curse to your deck. This saved me about 3 seconds.

It’s so funny how the screen showing you the act boss seems soooo slow like it’s one of the few moments you can’t skip or speed through. But when it’s guardian in act 1 it’s as if it wasn’t even on the screen
LazerCookie there used to be a bug where if you took pandoras box and switched screens all you strike and defends would be removed but not replaced. The bug has since been patched but speedrunners play on an old patch because of the importance of this bug
I wanted to say that it might fuck up the rest of the game play because you'd draw a non-upgraded strike instead of an upgraded one, but you're right. Since it's only 1HP fights it is purely a loss of time
In the first arc/map he got the 'enemies in the next 3 fight's have 1 hp' perk, this lasted all the way to the boss. then he used a pandora's box exploit which removes all strikes and defends. Then using whirlwind which scales very strongly with energy and strength.
If you take the pandora's box it transforms all your strikes and defends. Which works by removing your strikes and defends and adding in the transformed cards. If you open the map during the transform the game gets confused and only removes the cards.
That's why this run is in the seeded category... so yea, it does not count towoards the general nen seeded WR... But ignoring that... it'd be hella interesting to see if sub 2 is possible even with a seeded run as this map is close to perfect and there may be 1 second to shave off in execution...
The only difficulty is finding the seed? What about remembering every single action you have to take and performing it all perfectly in order to get the best time? But anyway, I think this type of speedrun is more about seeing just how short a run can be which is impressive in its own right. I don't think the point of this video is to show the runner's skill but rather how much the game can be broken.
Almost every game that is Speedran is a platform game that is the same every time you boot it up. Why don't you complain to Mario 64 runners for playing the same game every time?
