This 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Sport Surprisingly Good on the Canyon Roads

  • This is a Dynamic Drive for 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Sport which means I drove it for almost 100 miles in the City, Highway and Canyon Roads to determine how does it feel to drive and gave my final feel score at the end of the video.
    If you ever considered Subaru Crosstrek then you will find a fairly decent value in terms of driving dynamics. Overall I had more expectations from 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. While it did disappoint me I still found some strong areas where Subaru did well.

    Very nice video! I loved hearing your impressions as you drive various real world situations! I am still considering one for our family fleet, just wish the sport model were a couple thousand cheaper. The top of my list for a compact, AWD suv may be the Mazda CX-30 select trim ... a lot of nice features and premium feeling ride for $26k, if one can do without sunroof, heated seats and room in back. It is really hard to find anything these days for that price that doesn't feel like a penalty box

    • @100miledrive

      Thanks for stopping by. Yes shopping for a car these days is a complete nightmare. Many things vary based on the inventory that dealerships have. Subaru now has good lease specials, you may want to review their program. Lease first and then buy it out if high payments are not comfortable to purchase a new car. I love Mazda products, they are the driver's cars in this segment and they have improved their build quality. I will certainly bring Mazdas on this channel. Make sure to subscribe, more cars are on the way.

    A good honest review of Crosstrek. I think when it comes to cars, it can be subjective in terms of what one person likes, another may not. But, there seems to be a lot of positives that you pointed out with the Crosstrek and for it's price point, it gives you a very good bang for the buck. I am looking to buy one myself and will take it on a test drive to see how it feels and how it drives but I enjoyed watching your review. Keep up the great work!

      not quite. I basically recommend to rent a car for a day from places like Turo and spend a day with the car. That is the problem, is that you do a test drive around dealer's block and you won't be able to feel anything about the car. But if you really spend a day with it you will know exactly if you like it or not.

    My wife has had two brand new Subarus so far. 2018 Impreza and 2022 Onyx XT. We have loved both cars, however, out biggest complaint has been the interior quality. In both cases the interior parts do not feel sturdy and solid.

    • @100miledrive
      @100miledrive  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for owner’s feedback. This is exactly what disappointed me the most in Subarus. Why can’t they improve built interior quality. I hope 2024 Crosstek addresses this issue. Toyota and Honda also use cheap materials in Rav4 and CRV interior but at least they feel more sturdy.

  • @cargueone1971
    @cargueone1971 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Material wise, inside, Honda and Toyota definitely aren't better in quality. Remember this is priced like a Corolla or Civic. The interior of the Corolla Cross is horrible. The power of the 2.0 is not quieter, nor is it's AWD as good. When you compare it to its intended competition, the Corolla Cross, and the HRV, power and refinement wise, there's no comparison. The 2.5 torque is superior to their 2.0. Most Crossovers are just lifted cars, but as most off-roaders know, the soft suspension is for trails. I think that when are reviewing something, you need to compare it to its competition. Sound insulation is superior to the Corolla Cross, and HRV. Historically Honda has always been poor in road noise. This car is on it's 6th year on the current generation, and it's newer competition does nothing better. Add snow or rain, the Corolla Cross and HRV are no competition.

    • @100miledrive
      @100miledrive  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your feedback. Initially I thought you responded to Toyota-Lexus comparison video, but realized it was for the Subaru.
      Well, I can only speak for Crosstrek and I was surprised that doors for example had very poor inside quality materials like when you press against them, there is like a hollow space. Dashboard and center console were also not solid. To me those are basic quality flaws that should have been adressed on 2023 models. I am yet to check out Forester and Outback. Toyota on the other hand uses cheap materials but at least it feels more solid.

      Ok thank you. I review cars from the eyes of consumer and report things I see based on my experience. Obviously I am not testing them to the level many channels do. I also know Subarus have really long history and I drove their other models like WRX in the past and loved Boxter engine with Turbo and manual setup. I just don’t find it paired well to have underpowered boxter paired with CVT transmission. It is very drony. Ok for crecreational use but for day to day driving it’s not pleasant

    Sure would have been nice if Subaru had not ONLY kept the manual's (2024 Impreza & Crosstrek), given the 2.5L for ALL trims "and" given the impreza an 6 speed manual. SUBARU would have made so many sales "if" they had just LISTENED to their customers. ....Taksan Baka Desu na.....🏹🤠👍

      Do your research, his knowledge is limited. Do your due diligence, research. Test drive the competition. Choose for yourself. What he looks in a car is different from what you may like. At the price these sell for, it has no competition. The Corolla Cross, and HRV don't come close. The Handling is fine, he exaggerated the sloppiness.
      Here's a link with a reviewer more familiar about comparing cars with intended competition and has tons of videos of cars in this class with the options you may be comparing them to. Remember there's a new Crosstrek coming this Summer and will have some refinements you may like more. But the current one is excellent and would recommend on a heartbeat.

      I concur this dude is a clown. There is nothing wrong with the Crosstrek, especially at the price point offered. He clearly is half a momo and doesn't understand who actually buys Subaru's and that they don't buy them for the "luxury" interior or "premium" feel. He has about as much right to review cars as I have to preform brain surgery. He is just regurgitating what he hears from the countless other hacks who do "reviews"
