Mr shrimp, there's something I've been thinking about for some time now while watching your videos: all of these scammers have terrible english skills and come up with ridiculous nonsense situations. This got me thinking, what would happen if a person with good English skills and a not so far fetched story would try scamming? I mean, instead of awarding 20 million, they could just say 500-1000$ which would be more believable. Someone who knows how to speak fluently and to sound "serious" (someone with business knowledge) I wonder if they would be more successful ? What is your take on this? Ps: I watch your vids daily, even multiple times. I really enjoy your vids. Since this is a full time thing now, why not launch a patreon? I would happily lend in my support.
I know you were asking Shrimp, but the scammers don't want to hook people who fall for plausible amounts. If someone really believes they are going to receive $20 million from the Google e-mail sweepstakes, that's a perfect victim.
I'd say you'd easily get many more people falling for more believable amounts. BUT...I think, regarding the prize money, larger amounts (while less plausible) allow the scammer to request more cash. For example, they don't want $20's to 'deliver' you $500's. Rather they want thousands to 'deliver' you millions. So they end up catching far less victims, but those that do fall for it pay many times more. Regarding the rest of his comment: Yes, better English skills, more believable situations, etc. Would make scamming more efficient. And more people will fall for them. But it's hard to make 'free money if you pay them' ever sound that believable. So better scammers nowadays, rather than trying to make you send bitcoin or whatever, try and get you to go harmful links for the 'free money' instead. They also automate the system with bots, sending out a variety of messages telling you to go to 'x' site every couple of hours, I've even seen some automated responses to my replies. And sometimes when you respond to the bot, those behind it will manually reply, but usually after a couple of days. (They probably get a lot of replies to the automated messages. I know they manually check your replies as I don't think bots can get their feelings hurt very easily...) But still, these type of scams are only likely to catch out the elderly or vulnerable people who aren't great with their tech smarts. Otherwise, the 'best' scam in my opinion, the one that can hit anybody, is one that relies on coincidence. That's the only one that is easy to fall for. For example: If you receive a text message from your bank saying your online transaction was denied and go to 'x' site or call 'x' to fix it, and you just so happened to have bought something earlier on in the day and they just so happened to have gotten your bank right...I can see how you might fall for it. Scams that target your everyday actions, that make assumptions about who you are and what you did recently, while they might be easier to spot if they guessed wrong, if they get it right it can be quite easy to fall for. And for that you need good English and plausible setups.
You are correct. The point of scambaiting is to *stop* these criminals, not supplant them. Even if you end up donating the money to a charity or use it for some other good deed, you're still ethically compromised, opening up the opportunity to begin rationalizing being a full-blown scammer.
Yeah, I mean, also if someone in authority ever does 'follow the money', I don't want to be in that line of examination. I don't think I'd ever want to be absolutely and unthinkingly bound by rules that I set for myself, but you've still got to have them
What a saga! So glad to see Mr. Barrister John Warosa get a happy ending. The only way this could have gotten any crazier is if you pretended to show up where the box was located & said you were ready to pick it up (since the scammer was arguing over a shipping fee). Would love to see more long, involved stories like this in the future, assuming you can find a scammer willing to play along for that long.
Actually quite impressed on the fierce resistance put by the scammer. I thought that by the 3rd time you'd propose to take the fee out of the "prize" he would have dropped it
I may only come to be entertained, but I really do support you because of your opinions. I admire what you do and that you hold yourself to better morals than taking money from people.

then you are an idiot, for feeling sorry for a Scammer.....
Sorry, I had to say it lol, just imagine all the people they have scammed, old people un-knowing of what is going on.... No matter how badly hurt the scammer is, I will never care for them.
Nah,don't. They are just trying their luck
@@Eisenwulf666 56 days with the same person? creating documents with the hopes that he might pay despite the fact he's already taken 30 days? I fully believe that this is his only lead. and I feel bad simply because of the fact because he's such a fool
@Sandra Swan have you ever heard of a Joke?? We are in 2021 using the internet.
I don't think they are an idiot, I was just taking the mick since they said they feel sorry for a SCAMMER (a type of person i do NOT feel sorry for).
I feel sorry for the people BEING scammed.
@@thephoenixking1086 ah yes the typical "haha you're a piece of shit, haha it's just a joke dw", if you seriously think that if you precede an insult with a "im jk" then you're the only idiot here
Mr. Shrimp, you should look at the possibility of becoming a voice actor!
yup he has that golden voice
I would also like an atomic shrimp patreon
Please respond bro
Story is stupid on purpose so you can eliminate any possible victim with a shred of intelligence, all that is left are easy targets.
I'm really invested in this story arch. Season 4 is gonna be great
Season 5 of Better Scam Shrimp
You are correct. The point of scambaiting is to *stop* these criminals, not supplant them. Even if you end up donating the money to a charity or use it for some other good deed, you're still ethically compromised, opening up the opportunity to begin rationalizing being a full-blown scammer.
Yeah, I mean, also if someone in authority ever does 'follow the money', I don't want to be in that line of examination. I don't think I'd ever want to be absolutely and unthinkingly bound by rules that I set for myself, but you've still got to have them
I've been waiting for a full explanation for CoinSquirt since the second episode of this series! You are full of surprises Mr. Shrimp
This really feels like interactive fanfiction ... I love it!
That CoinSquirt explanation clip was absolutely brilliant
This entire series was absolutely amazing; the most entertaining scambaiting I've ever seen. You're a total genius, you deserve a standing ovation.
I wonder if there are scammers watching these videos somewhere.
That's were the dislikes come from
yes some watch kitboga when he does live videos
@@omegagamer4124 tech support scammers and advance fee scammers are quite different tho
they're taking notes on what not to do
Laughed when various forms of 'please' came out. Thank you for video!
The 'silent film' at the ~15:00 mark was hilarious. That's the kind of thing that got me into these scambaiting videos in the first place.
I'm surprised it's been a year and nobody has mentioned the CoinSquirt TOS at 3:49 . Brilliant.
20:08 Telling the scammer that they should take risks in your life would have been the salt in the wound!
Weeks, a song written by a scammer and the envolvement of a "third party" requires a serious ammount of efford and creativity. What a great series nice job!!!!
I love the vintage clips so much! They're so creative!
20:27 this email actually makes full grammatical sense! It's not punctuated correctly, but reading it aloud, it's perfect English. How far these scammers have come. Maybe they can use those skills to get a real job someday and hopefully be better people.
You enjoy this so much - it is heartening to know that sometimes work can be a pleasure.
"Cash disguised as gold bars" has to be one of my favorite running gags in these scambaiting videos, lol
Finally, another episode of my favorite email scam baiting series
The John Barosa to Warosa transitions gave me whiplash.
Some very high level time wasting happening there, your dedication to stringing them along was very impressive !
Good effort on the Coin Squirt infomercial too and I really liked The Day The Earth Stopped Responding with every clip removed apart from the bits with no dialogue, whatever gave you that idea ?
Remember, it’s John Barosa’s consignment box of gold bars. He just lets John Warosa use it.
Can't wait for John Warosa: Reloaded and John Warosa: Revolutions
I really love the coronet film clips included. I love watching those in my free time and seeing parts of them in here is really cool to me
"Let's go scambaiting again."
Gotta get a t-shirt with that on ☺
I actually found your channel by one of your other subjects, but once I was subscribed, I also found your scamming videos. I was sick in bed for the day, only up to watching videos, and you had me laughing so hard! Yes, you are quite entertaining. You are right, too, in that it is a serious problem, especially for the elderly. I actually know of a man who fell pray to scammers. So sad. So, good work on both fronts!
why am i laughing so much? it's just a guy reading emails lmaooo i need help
The shared email thing had me rolling. Well done. Well freaking done!
"Less privileged homes" should be added to the point card
What a thrilling trilogy! This was the most tenacious scammer that I've seen so far.
I always find it hilarious when you suggest using CoinSquirt, MoneyPurple or FundThrust instead of their payment method.
The CoinSquirt ad was very convincing : it's easy to understand and use.
The desperate 'please' mails at the end were a fantastic conclusion to this journey.
That's a very impressive score card! Maybe you should send one to the scammer next time like you did with the least credible scammer award in 2019.
