I like the variety. YT channels are a bit like shops. Some people know exactly what they want and go to a specific store and a specific aisle and get it. Some people like to browse, but still be in a store that sells items within a certain range. You, my dear sir, are like an Aldi/Lidl, and I mean that in a good way. We come here for scambaits but get distracted by the random wonders in the middle aisle.
Hello, Atomic Shrimp, I hope you’re having a lovely day and that maybe you can get around to reading this. I originally came to your channel because of the scam baiting videos, as they were recommended by TH-cam because of other channels with similar content that I had gotten into. I am sad to say that after awhile, your channel had gotten lost in the TH-cam algorithms and such, and I had lost your channel and forgot about it for quite some time. After awhile, I had finally found your videos in my recommendations again, though I had no realisation that it was the same man who I watched scam bait.i saw some of your foraging videos and was extremely excited, as I am currently attending college with the goal of becoming a field biologist and professor of botany here in California, and things such as foraging really excite me. I love the idea of strolling through forests, prairies, and the like to find local flora and fungus to use at home. Here where I am from, this idea is very similar to the gathering lifestyle of local natives, whereas I’ve seen the remnants of their villages including old mortar and pestles to process things such as acorns or berries. At one point, I had seen a video by you in which you found a fungus in which I believe you called “chicken of the woods,” and I was very intrigued as it was reminiscent of a fungus we have here in central California called “turkey tail fungus,” which is not only edible, but natives even used it like chewing gum. To conclude this lengthy comment, at this point I couldn’t see your channel being itself without the menagerie of content you produce. As someone who wants to do things very similar to you for a living, it’s a serious joy seeing and binging your content, ALL of it! So, please, never change. Thank you. :)
The randomness of this channel is the reason I stay subscribed. I came for the the scambaiting and ended up making my own butter. Don't change a thing Mr 🍤
Right? After discovering my printer was defunct and looking up troubleshooting videos, I stumbled upon an early Atomic Shrimp (an exposé of poor inkjet design practice). I was home on quarantine, bored, began clicking through the channel, and never looked back. A+ artesian youtubing happens, here lol
Maybe I am in the minority, but I am actually from the part of the audience that have not watched any scambaiting material whatsoever, the only reason why I actually clicked on this video was because of the FAQ section about why you should make more scambaiting videos. Whilst this is interesting content, I just wanted to make a point for all of the people whose favorite content is either foraging or the 1 pound per day food challenges (which are brilliant and by far my favorite TH-cam content to date). I think we all appreciate the breadth of content on this channel, but there are also those of us whose only, or most appreciated, topic is not one of the most popular. Stay strong and atomic! I love your content!
My son will be born 2 weeks from now. We were going to name him Jacob Nathaniel, but I think I can convince my wife that to name him Catamaran Detergent instead.
Respectfully, your other content doesn't appeal to me much. I just stuck around for the scambaiting, but there is nothing wrong with doing your own creative stuff! It doesn't detract from me enjoying the videos I do! On my own channel, I do the same thing: I just make whatever I'm interested in. One day I'm dissecting a bad TV show, the next I'm just making weird noises. No judgment at all, keep up the good work buddy!
My second child is due next February. After watching this vid, guess what I’m gonna call them? That’s right. Anything but catamaran detergent..... Yacht descaler, on the other hand. Great vid as always Mr Shrimp. Love this channel
I honestly thought you were going to say "John Warosa". I mean, it's not the worst name, especially if "Warosa" is the middle name. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, though. It's not the most inspiring origin for a name.
Dude keep the channel exactly as it is. When you hang out with an interesting friend you get to see different facets of his/her life and that is why we love your channel. It's like actually hanging out with a friend rather than filling up on one type of content (gaming, cars, food, etc.). Always a lot of fun on this channel, with Half-Million Subs! I hope you get 1 million subs soon!
The variety is one of the things I really appreciate on this channel. I actually skip a decent amount of your stuff, but not only does the insane amount of topics covered give the channel a lot of diversity and personality, it really makes it feel like a slice of the old TH-cam I used to love, before the adpocalypse and the algorithm takeover, when it was just people posting whatever struck their fancy that day (though it's certainly a lot higher-quality stuff than most of what got posted on old TH-cam). Feels like there's a real living, breathing person behind it, not just another cog in the machine dutifully pumping out their daily bit of algorithm appeasement, and that's (depressingly enough) quite refreshing.
For the record, I love the variety. It keeps it fresh and it often puts me into content I would not otherwise look for/see. I especially liked the puffball mushroom cooking video. This channel is a great source for very chill niche stuff. I’ve learnt a lot from you!
Scamming brought me to your channel, however I stayed for the variety in (high quality yet down to earth) content. If you made nothing but scambaiting, I'd get bored of it quickly - oversaturation is never good. Thank you for not giving in to the algorithm.
This has become one of my favorite channels of all time!. These scammers believe they are better than everyone else and it doesn't bother them the slightest that they might have robbed someone of their life savings.People in general need to be more careful, but there is a lesson the scammers should learn as well... I can think of no better teacher than yourself... The eloquent sarcasm is just over the top!
I love that you have a variety. Though I admit I found you from people recommending you in other scambait comments. I didn't know until today though that you had other areas of interest on your channel. I am writing this before I start bingeing "Weird stuff in a can" lol. Keep doing what you love! Whatever that may be!!!! 💗💗💗💗💗
so basically: FAQ: "Why don't you cater specifically and exclusively to mý preferences?" with the answer being "I do this for mý amusement, not just for yours"?
"We're going scambaiting again". When you say it it sounds like an invitation to go for a drive through the countryside on a sunny day with a picnic at the end, and its every bit as enjoyable.
I originally found you from your budget challenge videos, and while I enjoy your scam baiting stuff, I much prefer the other content on your channel and I'm really happy there's no risk of that content disappearing.
I only watch the scambaiting, but I'm still happily subscribed! It's really nice when someone is more focused on doing what they actually want than chasing after viewers. I appreciate it! Cheers
12:41 Never saw this coming, I was literally gonna take a sip of my water but then I literally spat it out. You give some of the best content out there, probably why you have one of the best channels on youtube and I hope that your career only goes up. Never have I seen such promise and I'm definitely gonna stay subscribed to you. I agree with you, don’t let the youtube recommendation algorithm dictate what type of content you make. Literally anytime I'm scrolling down my recommended and i see one of your videos i always click it.
Nice comment. He’ one of my favorites too. Every video he makes is comforting, and I very much enjoy his sense of humor. It’s exciting to see how he shakes things up, and I respect him as a person. Getting away from all that, I think it’s quite obvious that he really does love making new videos. Scambaiting is fun, but I’d be nowhere without weird stuff in a can. It’s astounding, some of the stuff he finds. Like a lot of my favorite youtubers, Shrimp excites me with every new video. I can’t tell what’s in store, but I know it’ll be good! Yesterday was tough for me. I had just opened my door and hit someone in the hall. Usually he’d forgive me, but not this time. Definitely a great channel. I showed him some old Weird Stuff in a Can videos of his, and while I wasn’t completely forgiven for the noticeable bruise, he was in a better mood.
I can't begin to express to you how very much I appreciate your way of dealing with the entitled kids who demand you cater exclusively to their preferences. Keep on being, unapologetically, you.
I honestly love the scambaiting the most but also enjoy some of the other content. For example, surviving with $1 for a day that was really interesting. As the saying goes, if your work is what you love you will never work a day in your life. Also, if every single video he posts was a scambaiting video, wouldn't we all get tired of watching it. I think that the system going on here is perfect, some scambaiting and some other fun relatable content. You are honestly the most relateble TH-camr ever, keep up the good work!
I love the fact that this channel mixes everything up... scam baiting videos, science videos, cooking videos, nature videos... it's the main reason I subscribed, it's the best Pic n Mix channel out there. Don't change the format please, it works perfectly for me.
It's always beautiful to see scammers warn you about other scams because they interfere with their own scam, such lovely irony. I think that's probably the best result you can achieve imo!
While I definitely enjoy your scambaiting videos (I love all of the cleverness and comedy involved) I do love your other content, especially the weird stuff in a can and your low-budget food challenges. Keep doing what you love. Be rest assured that you’re doing the right thing.
Mr. Detergent, I love the variety of your videos so much! Please keep doing what you're doing because your unique content and personality makes you my favourite TH-camr!
I have 2 routines. I watch this before I sleep and I always fall asleep midway. Then I re-watch it again while eating breakfast and finish it all the way. Thank you for this content. It kinda became a part of my weekly routine :)
I love the Scambaiting videos, but I also really enjoy all the off-brand, weird & interesting stuff you put out. Like idk why but I was legitimately riveted by the UK Store Comparisons video, and I'm American
I also really enjoyed that store comparison! I’ve seen similar for US stores, and it turned out as equivalent as it could, pretty much, with ALDI at the cheapest.
Man you’re just so genuine. That FAQ was really wholesome and heartwarming, honestly. I happened upon your channel first with the wobbledogs. Hilarious and just so fun. I’ve definitely grown to like the scambaiting more than your other content, but I’m happy to see all of it. When you’re enjoying yourself, we’re enjoying ourselves! Keep it up!
If people want to just watch the scambaiting stuff, then I believe they can just add your "Just the Scambaiting" playlist to their library and they should get a notification when it gets updated.
2 scammers 1 scam baiter This could only mean that that you are trying to make the scammers either competing for a scam they won't get or just the usually wasting their time for hours. Also the stories they come up with to get these scams are so incredibly outlandish and just cheesy. Which is exactly why they they try to pull on people's hearts in order to get a scam. That's messed up.
Theyre all just a directed line of the exact same story of a rich old woman doing something charitable that has lost her husband or the genders are reversed or its a product that is useless.
I always hope for scenarios like this to have scammers go head to head or even try to scam eachother, but they never seem to be either dumb enough or willing to put in the effort. bank.
TH-cam expects us to seperate our content into into very specific niches. Thank you for breaking that trend, Atomic Shrimp. There are two TH-camrs who I enjoy the most. One of them is you. You're content is amazing and please never give up making it. You don't beg for views, you don't talk overly loud and you don't clickbait, you just make whatever comes to mind and that's what I love about your channel, you just do you. I think this truly is the definition of putting passion into your videos. And a question in case you ever do another Q&A: What does it feel like knowing that thousands upon thousands of people look up to you?
i admittedly was one of the people thinking "why doesn't he make more scambaiting vids" at first when i subbed.. but i've actually watched a bunch of your cooking/food prep videos and they are so interesting. love how you collect from your environment and i appreciate that we're allowed into multiple facets of your life!
It’s obvious your channel takes a great deal of time to prepare and is excellent. Even the way you explain and joke about “channel advisors” is hilarious 😂 Thanks for the guaranteed smiles and laughs anytime we tune into your channel 😀 Great public service to the world
Well I mean almost 500k of people still subscribed. Your content, no matter what you do, is good. Only Scambaiting would be very stale. Also, since it is dependable on the scammers as well, your upload schedule would probably end up being somewhat weird which again is something the algorithm does not like. So keep doing what you like! :)
I enjoy ‘strange stuff in a can’. We do this, trying the weirdest things we find online or in the German supermarkets. We also play ‘try something we can’t pronounce’
One interesting thing about these videos is how ready the scammers are to just give up, even when they apparently have a very stupid and gullible person willing to send them thousands of dollars, at the prospect of having to put any effort whatsoever into resolving the mark's concerns. It's harder than you would expect to string them along - I would have thought they sent out millions of these emails and would be very invested in capitalising on the small handful that actually reply. In some cases they might suspect they're being trolled but often they don't give that impression - they just get frustrated at being asked questions and cut communication.
Well, wasting time on a particularly daft mark (such as Marc - ba-dum tsh!) doesn‘t net them more income than others that fall quickly, so it negatively affects the bottom line. They probably juggle hundreds of potential victims at the same time, so cutting losses just makes sense. The plight of the poor scammer… 🎻
Damn, I didn’t realize that random people on the internet got to tell you what to do. Lol glad you don’t give in to that, keep doing you man love your videos
i think your channel as a whole is wholesome discovery of what happens when you take on a challenge. I love the cheap food and foraging videos just as much as the scambaiting. your channel reads like a bedtime story and just as comforting. do what you feel is right

Honestly the fact you do literally whatever you like has always been an inspiration to me because I've always wanted to try TH-cam but I have no idea what one of my many hobbies I'd stick with, and in among all the people doing the same thing again and again you're a little reminder that actually nobody has to pick one thing to be their thing.

I can shed some light on some of the language quirks here- I'm an Indonesian teacher in Australia :) 'This same fees' - there normally aren't different words for singular and plural in Indonesian. 'I will advise you' - this one may be deliberate but also 'will' and 'would' both translate to 'akan', tense works differently in Indonesian. Same with send/sent. Love your work. All of it!
Lol; I, too, came for the scambaiting and stayed for the, well, everything else!
I really appreciate that you stay loyal to your passion and don't play "the TH-cam game"
things like this make the platform better in the long run imo
I love how you follow your heart and make content on whatever you're interested in. If you're interested in it, I'm interested in it!
I know this was a year ago and a joke, but I just have to know the story here
Respectfully, your other content doesn't appeal to me much.
@@roguishpaladin You've caught wind of my back up plan. Well played, sir.
I giggled myself stupid over your great comment. Thanks 😂
Catamaran Detergent!!!
@@stephensmith799 me too!!
Little nuggets like the "Mr. Anderson" "Neo" joke are why I love this channel.
I really appreciate the diversity of your content, every notification is a like a kinder surprise egg
Diversity on this channel is why this channel is so amazing. Keep up the good work sir!
"I know your name is Neo" - I just love you so much!!
Shall I make an alt account name catamaran detergent just to pretend I'm offended?
Yes
@@sparexcalibur yes
Definitely

Yes
I love that you have a variety. Though I admit I found you from people recommending you in other scambait comments. I didn't know until today though that you had other areas of interest on your channel. I am writing this before I start bingeing "Weird stuff in a can" lol. Keep doing what you love! Whatever that may be!!!! 💗💗💗💗💗
so basically: FAQ: "Why don't you cater specifically and exclusively to mý preferences?" with the answer being "I do this for mý amusement, not just for yours"?
Spanish mý
Yeah, basically XD
Yeeh
"We're going scambaiting again". When you say it it sounds like an invitation to go for a drive through the countryside on a sunny day with a picnic at the end, and its every bit as enjoyable.
Don't change, Atomic Shrimp! Got hooked by the scambaiting videos, stayed for the rest. The channel is great, there should be more like it.
I love how this one opened up so poetically. Like a Bob Ross of demeaning scammers
Cheers

Never saw this coming, I was literally
gonna take a sip of my water but then I literally spat it out. You
give some of the best content out there, probably why
you have one of the best channels on youtube and I hope that your career only goes
up.
Never have I seen such promise and I'm definitely
gonna stay subscribed to you. I agree with you, don’t
let the youtube recommendation algorithm dictate what type of content
you make. Literally anytime I'm scrolling
down my recommended and i see one of your videos i always click it.
Perish.
I was going to comment and say something like this, but you say it so much better. Kudos!
Damn, rickrolled again
Nice comment. He’ one of my favorites too.
Every video he makes is comforting, and I
very much enjoy his sense of humor. It’s
exciting to see how he shakes things up, and I
respect him as a person.
Getting away from all that, I think it’s quite
obvious that he really does love making
new videos. Scambaiting is fun, but I’d be
nowhere without weird stuff in a can. It’s
astounding, some of the stuff he finds.
Like a lot of my favorite youtubers, Shrimp
excites me with every new video. I can’t
tell what’s in store, but I know it’ll be good!
Yesterday was tough for me. I had just
opened my door and hit someone in the hall.
Usually he’d forgive me, but not this time.
Definitely a great channel. I showed him some
old Weird Stuff in a Can videos of his, and
while I wasn’t completely forgiven for the
noticeable bruise, he was in a better mood.
Whoops, I did the wrong line
I can't begin to express to you how very much I appreciate your way of dealing with the entitled kids who demand you cater exclusively to their preferences.
Keep on being, unapologetically, you.
You don't get half a million subs by doing something you hate.
Yeah, you can sense the awkwardness - they want to tell you, but they don't want you to realise
While I definitely enjoy your scambaiting videos (I love all of the cleverness and comedy involved) I do love your other content, especially the weird stuff in a can and your low-budget food challenges. Keep doing what you love. Be rest assured that you’re doing the right thing.
"Y don't u only make scambat vids"
Because Atomic Shrimp is a classy, well-rounded gent? Geez, how dare he share his passions as a human being :P
I tried to do the same but now I just post fishing lol shows that he has a very well engaged community
Your content would be worse if it was only scambaiting, solely because of the incredible quality of your other content
I do admit this was one of Mike's best scams.
Even if I don't watch most of your other stuff, a youtuber who does what they want instead of what everyone else wants is always more enjoyable
I love the Scambaiting videos, but I also really enjoy all the off-brand, weird & interesting stuff you put out. Like idk why but I was legitimately riveted by the UK Store Comparisons video, and I'm American
My personal favorite are his foraging videos. They always make me very hungry...
Keep it up!
I agree Mr. Anderson.
If people want to just watch the scambaiting stuff, then I believe they can just add your "Just the Scambaiting" playlist to their library and they should get a notification when it gets updated.
I just love the way you handle these scumbags! Always lovely to listen to.
2 scammers 1 scam baiter
This could only mean that that you are trying to make the scammers either competing for a scam they won't get or just the usually wasting their time for hours.
Atomic shrimp is like the trail mix of youtube, but without the annoying cashews that im allergic to
I always hope for scenarios like this to have scammers go head to head or even try to scam eachother, but they never seem to be either dumb enough or willing to put in the effort.
I came here for the scambaiting, but I am staying for the variety. Mr. Shrimp, you are a great content creator, keep it on!
i admittedly was one of the people thinking "why doesn't he make more scambaiting vids" at first when i subbed.. but i've actually watched a bunch of your cooking/food prep videos and they are so interesting. love how you collect from your environment and i appreciate that we're allowed into multiple facets of your life!
Do what you feel like mate, I'll be here waiting for your diverse content to show up.
I love the random vids. it good to know I'm not the only one that enjoy doing lots of different thing.
"Can we invite to be involve?" almost made me spew coffee out my nose.
Keep going in the direction your going with the channel atomic it makes it very diverse and entertaining keep up the good work !
I love the FAQs. They often feel like bitesize life lessons. Just someone who's experienced with life telling you why they do what they do.
FWIW, I find your foraging/food videos the most enjoyable.
I love the cheap food and foraging videos just as much as the scambaiting. your channel reads like a bedtime story and just as comforting. do what you feel is right
It's the Eclectic content that makes your channel great,
Just found your channel. You mentioned that you cover a wide range of topics. You might consider sorting them into play lists of like kinds so that viewers can more easily access content of interest to them. LOVE the scam baiting!
You mean like this? th-cam.com/users/AtomicShrimpplaylists
@@AtomicShrimp So sorry! I thought I looked for playlists before I wrote that comment. I was trying to be helpful!
Again, thanks for the great content!
@@janejane5281 hehe it's all good
Honestly, your channel would lose its character without the variety. Make whatever type of content you want!
"Wrong Bank, Wrong Widow" sounds like an interesting drama
I noticed your days only contain 24 hours. I have recently upgraded my days to 28 hours and boy has it made a difference.
The mail @11:06 is a piece of abstract art... remarkable...
It cracks me up that Neo's Matrix name actually is Thomas Anderson. I don't know if that was intentional on the part of the scammer but it was quite hilarious either way
I've been holding off on watching the scambaiting videos (not for any particular reason, just hadn't gotten into them yet), but that ends today. This was wonderfully entertaining 🤣
That being said, I enjoy the curated variety of this channel quite a lot. Thank you for sharing everything you do!
Excellent, excellent, excellent.
I love that you make vids on what you want to! One day it's some mushrooms in the forrest and The other it's some machines that wiggles sausages! Love it!
Thank you! I love your variety of videos, and I truly appreciate that you genuinely enjoy youtube and aren't out for the fame.
this one is absolute gold. baiting mrs. robinson into telling the story of her dead husband was fantastic. also, bentlebury engineering??? could that be owned by our own belovedly stuffy mr. derek bentlebury?
I can shed some light on some of the language quirks here- I'm an Indonesian teacher in Australia :)
'This same fees' - there normally aren't different words for singular and plural in Indonesian.
'I will advise you' - this one may be deliberate but also 'will' and 'would' both translate to 'akan', tense works differently in Indonesian. Same with send/sent.
Love your work. All of it! Thanks Mike :)
