      Not really related but yeah I have heard about that. Not a big fan of the whole meta verse concept which might be surprising to some considering I'm a tech enthusiast.

    So if I post a photo or an eagle’s nest onto my Facebook photography page, people can find that nest from information from my image?
    Just fyi..I shoot with a canon 90D when it’s birds. I convert the image to jpeg of course and then post photos onto Facebook or IG.
    Thanks

      You wouldn’t then! Mostly just from photos from phones that embed gps metadata into the image

    Pictures send thought whatsapp and Instagram have no metadata

    Gps data location was natively shut off on all of our phones I had to enable it just for this to work.

    • @matyascerny9374

      That is not true indeed. For example iphones use this pretty widely. You can test this by sending a picture to your friend via airdrop. The other iphone will recognise the metadata and put it in your gallery accordingly (place, time, slowmotion start/end, etc.)
      On the other hand, when you post something online, some phones, usually android will send the metainformation with it. What that means is that facebook, instagram, etc. will store this data, strip it off and then after some compression etc. post the picture/video to the server for anybody else to see. That is why it is not possible to see much information from pictures online.

      @@matyascerny9374 I'm not sure whats not true about it, if you go into location settings then to camera the factory setting is never. That means any picture's you take should not include any gps data. The only way I was successfully able to retrieve any gps data was by turning this on. Although I didn't do any test with airdorp, since its not the method I normally use to send or receive things.

    I posted on facebook about my brother and the document did not have any image but on facebook the post showed the face of my brother so I removed the post because it was in my opinion a breach of privacy and was not intended for me to provide an image of my brother's face in relation with the scanned document which must have contained metadata on it and now I am uncertain if anything online is private to the powers that be. we are all being scanned and stored in databases. It's real it's big brother 2.1

    Can you get meta data from TikTok videos?

    • @cubeman9766
      @cubeman9766 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should be able to since fps is frames(images) per second so stop the tiktok video on a frame
      Idk how to do it however

    • @Hannah-on9zw
      @Hannah-on9zw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cubeman9766 I get where you're coming from, but I think it might be hard to get your hands on the actual video file, it might be possible if you put up a proxy and grab the file from there, but they might strip the metadata when its uploaded

    • @matyascerny9374
      @matyascerny9374 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it is not possible, as i've mentioned in comment above, all of the metadata is striped before making it accessible for an end-user.
