Remember the maximum hydrarion method you did last time you were worried about heat damage? It sure was a lot of work and it probably won't reverse all the damage but I think it would definitely give your hair a hydration boost. Like a fresh start. :)

  • @celestia007

it's probably less heat damage, and more from the fact that your lightened your hair color. While bleaching hair isn't quite the same as a relaxer, it DOES affect the texture. and I believe you did the process twice so I suspect that's where the damage came from. If you'd lifted the color even lighter with a stronger developer, you would see an even bigger difference. When you were holding up the little strand at 6:55 you can see that the lighter sections were the damaged parts and the section that didn't get as much bleach is still curly.

Congratulations Amber on everything that is going on in your fabulous life!!!🤗❤️ You might have what is known as "heat memory". My aunt is a professional hairstylist, and she told me one time when I thought that my hair was heat damaged, that sometimes your hair might "need a minute" to revert, due to the way that was straightened or how often it is straightened. Eventually my hair fully reverted back to it's curly state. 😁

It happened to me last month and i am pregnant ! I did straighten my hair but Did not retouch at all during that time ! Then when i shampooed it didn’t curl back. I did some box braids to not deal with it but i think it is really heat memory. Thank you for giving me Hope

Amber before you cut your hair, if there is a kerastase salon in Belgium you can get the Curl Manifesto treatment. It consists of a concentrate and a booster, this will definitely help restore and revive your curls! Unless they sell the Home Lab Kit and you can do it yourself.

My hair was almost to my butt, and I had to cut it cause I kept retouching it with a flat iron. I had a lot of heat damage so I decided to cut about 5 inches off and now my curls look almost back to normal. I’m so happy cause I thought I was gonna have to do the big chop all over again. Now I know even if I’m just doing a retouch heat protectant and low heat is a most !!! You can never straighten your hair without it even on a low setting.

They have a "Hair Strengthening Treatment" that is 1part amino asid blend and 1 part botanical etract, vitamins and humactants. I had heat damage and I had to cut it cuz it was a lot. I get my hair straightened every 2-3 months to get my ends trimmed but I always make sure that my stylist does a protein treatment before she straightens it and it really helps and I haven’t had heat damage again. And I don’t use heat on my hair at all when it’s straight…when it starts to puff up I just wash it and let the curls come back

Hi amber. Its sad that you have heat damage I can relate to you because as now I have some in the front of my hair that I have been transitioning for almost 1 1/2 year. Don't spent your money in bond repair expensive treatment just cut it off is the most effective solution. I did spend money on those treatment it works a little bit with the combo of finger coiling when you style. But it never be the same. I knew from the beginning that my hair won't revert back but my damage starting from all the way from the top and in the front difficult to hide. Cut it all off it will grow back and you won't have to manage so many texture.

I did a mini chop in 2021, and a diy keratin treatment. I was so happy with my curls and grew more confident after years of relaxing. My big mistake was flat ironing my hair every week, because there's just no way I can wear my curls to work, and down. Now I'm sitting with a year's worth of heat damage, ugh! Not cutting again though but will patiently and lovingly breathe new life into it with deep conditioning etc. I am a straight natural (because of work) and use a roller set and blow dry. Which is a happy medium I think! I've laid my flat iron to rest for good!

I'm not sure if you can do the aphogee 2 step treatment while pregnant but I would definitely do that, and then do an Aztec clay mask and then do a good deep conditioning with some olaplex and a good hydrating deep conditioner. The most previous time I colored my hair my hair was noticeably looser but I just figured it was because I'm now high porosity. For me I just needed to nurse my hair and in a few weeks my hair was good as new. I do have a couple straight ends but I'm chillin tbh.
