Very happy that I have found your channel. I'm researching now how to build an online course, and your content helps tremendously. I don't know anything about checkouts, refunds, customer-support, mailing at all that administrative stuff, so it would be great to hear more about it. As I adapt my course for online, I am sure that I can tell at least if the course is turning out good or bad, but the idea that students might have a bad experience because I messed up some financial stuff is terrifying.

Great video! Curious to know if there is a way to create a search function for the videos that are embedded in the lessons (i.e. I'm building a yoga class database and would like to be able to have students search by theme, length, style, etc.)
Great question. It’s not natively possible within ThriveCart (or many course platforms). But if it’s a feature you know is a must-have for your business, you might be interested in witandwire.com/searchie
Could you please add a video explaining how to automatize the certification of completion at the end of the couse, please?

ThriveCart doesn’t currently have a certificate of completion, so if you’re looking for the option, I’d recommend a separate third-party tool or process.

I'm so glad it was helpful! And great question. ThriveCart currently supports 10 base languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Norwegian, Danish, Dutch, Portuguese (Portugal), and Portuguese (Brazil).
@witandwire Hi Melissa, thank you so much for this breakdown!!!! I've found your videos, and your course platform comparison, extremely helpful. There's still one thing I don't understand... Do you need a web host to use thrivecart? I get that you need an external video host for the course videos, but do I need a web host like bluehost, hostinger, dreamhost, etc. to use a custom domain for my thrivecart course..? It would be incredibly helpful to understand this. Thanks again for the great videos
Thank you! I’m so glad the video was helpful, and great question. You don’t need a web host for ThriveCart, but if you’d like to use a custom domain, you’d need to purchase it through a domain registrar. (I like witandwire.com/namecheap)

Great question! Loom videos aren’t downloadable unless you enable a setting that makes the video downloadable. (In my account, by default, all videos are NOT downloadable.) I hope that helps!
Thanks for sharing ! I was leaning towards Thrivecart despite no video hosting and email marketing, but not being able to attach files for download is such a bummer .
If it helps, you can host files in Google Drive (or Dropbox) and that works well for a lot of business owners. (I use Google Drive, personally!)
Great video! Do you have any plans to do a video on pricing strategies for online courses? I see that they vary alot. Some people do one time purchases for mini courses. Some group everything together and charge large fees for an all inclusive experience. Some do a monthly subscription. Sone do yearly. Any thoughts on when to use which?

Hi, if a student use a smartphone or tablet, is backend reponsive and good UX or is thrivecart not recommended for mobile use.. and I mean only students view.
Great question. ThriveCart doesn’t currently have a mobile app, nor would I say that they have a particularly optimized mobile experience. Thank you for the video! It was really helpful. I used it while building my course! I just wanted to make sure I understand: When someone purchases the course through the checkout page, do they automatically get access to it? Like how does that work? I did the step you showed in the video with fulfilment and adding to a membership site, but do they get a link automatically to sign up, or should I use my email automation to send them a link?

Great question. In ThriveCart, it’s not currently possible (nor is it on their immediate roadmap). You can add a comment box with a third-party tool (embedded), but it’s not a native feature.

Hey Melissa thank you so much for this video, I'm looking for a platform where to create courses but also be able to sell spots on my offline workshops and coaching sessions with me, I know that thrive cart is great for also selling the coaching sessions spots etc but for online courses I've heard that kajabi is the best, what is your opinion? Hello - I need help getting rid of Stripe Enhanced on my ThriveCart, in FAQ it's saying to choose the legacy stripe in processors under my product, but there is no option for that shown.

Great question! I’m not sure, although my hope is that ThriveCart’s business lasts a long time. As far as I know, they have no plans to shut down.
In building the course template I would like to add my usual elements for the course to the template. Is that an option?
What types of elements are you thinking? There are quite a few types of blocks, so I'm almost sure it should be possible!

Can you advise on embedding mp3 audio in Thrivecart Learn?
Great question! You can embed anything that provides you with a code snippet in ThriveCart. (They do have an HTML block.) So that should work for audio.
are we able to use a video made on canva and embed it into a thrivecart lesson?
Great question. I tested this and yes, it’s possible! As you likely know, you can’t do any editing (i.e. trims or cuts) in the Canva video, but if it’s a tool you’re already using and familiar with, then it is embeddable within ThriveCart. The UX is decent.
Could I host a PDF on TC through my Flodesk account? Currently my freebies are PDFs that my people access through my flodesk work flows when they sign up for my emails...? I hope that makes sense? Thanks
Great question! I think I can answer like this:
ThriveCart is unable to host any PDFs, videos, or files of any kind. They all need to be hosted elsewhere, and then you can link to them as URLs in your course.
In Flodesk (witandwire.com/flodesk), since you already have a PDF uploaded into an email, there might be a way for you to access that URL to include in your ThriveCart course. (For example, you could create a draft email, send yourself a test, and then grab the URL.)

When the student is inside the course in thrive cart do the videos open in a new window (because they are hosted outside of thrive cart) OR does the student stay in thrive cart while watching the course videos. I want to try to create a more seamless experience for the user and want to avoid another window opening up?
Videos are directly embedded into Thrivecart, so you students can watch them in ThriveCart without another window opening.

Love the video! Any thoughts on CourseFunnels? It is a very easy-to-use platform for beginners. It supports 17 languages & has lots of free plugins for sale. Plus it can automatically generate course completion certificates & so much more!
Great question. I’m familiar with CourseFunnels, but I haven’t tested it personally. Based on reviews, I saw that other business owners found it too technical, so that’s why I haven’t pursued it too much, but I know others who are happy with it. So it’s up to you!

Is it still not responsive? Ie. works only on desktop?
They are mobile responsive, but there is no app. So although users could log into their ThriveCart learn courses on a mobile web browser, the experience is best suited for a desktop computer, definitely.
Why not use You Tube and be unlisted and it is free right? My other concern is not being able to do on phone...can u if u go to your internet browser on phone? Prob clunky. Some people dont have a computer but have Ipad or phone so I see this as a potential prob
Great questions:
1. Why not TH-cam? Even if you hosted your videos on TH-cam, you would still need a way to collect payments and deliver locked access to the curriculum, neither of which is easily doable with TH-cam. But beyond that, it’s much easier to protect your videos (so that they can’t be downloaded or shared) when you host your videos privately.
2. What if you can’t use a phone? I’m not sure if this question is about creating the course or having students take it, but for the course creator, I do agree that having access to a computer will typically provide the best experience for the full course planning, creating, and sales process. For students, some course platforms are more mobile-friendly than others. ThriveCart courses can be accessed via mobile browser, but other platforms might have apps, if that’s a core feature you’d be looking for. (One example is witandwire.com/circle)

@@witandwire Okay, I mean if you use Thrivecart's Learn platform for the course creation and used You Tube and marked your videos as "Unlisted" would that work for a "free" option for making your videos and inserting in your Learn course? That wouldn't create a worry over downloading or sharing would it?
And yes, I meant for taking the course when referring to using a browser on your phone....I am sad that they don't have a mobile friendly way like Kajabi does to easily take the course via an app. Explaining all these things and not having them work easily is a concern of mine. So, I want to think through all the options.
A video on how you use the more traditional side of ThriveCart is definitely of interest!
