  • @baytraders
    @baytraders 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Excellent video Chazz - If you ever find yourself doing this again the 'pain in the arse' retainer clips can be inserted into the injectors first and then just push the leak off pipe through the clip - job done..! - Windscreen is delaminating and letting water through the layers of glass so time to go, but check out the price of these heated replacements, you won't need the washer jets 'cos the price will bring tears to your eyes..!! Keep up the good work mate.

    • @ChazzCoombes
      @ChazzCoombes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      cheers for that info, i contacted my insurance to replace the screen and as its not cracked its classed as ware and tear and they can replace it but i wouldnt get much change from 300

    • @baytraders
      @baytraders 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChazzCoombes That's crap news mate - bloody insurance companies. I just had my '09 S-Max done for same reason but luckily I had a 1 inch crack so got it done for £85 excess. Guys who fit it reckoned about £680 for the heated, rain sensor screen.... I have got tie wraps on my leak off pipes like your Mondeo had 'cos even though I replaced all the pipes and clips for new like yourself and removed; cleaned and reseated all the injectors, one of the buggers still used to blow off every day so keep an eye on it - hopefully you will be good but those tie wraps have never let me down..!!! - All the best, Andy

      You can install the clips first then push the leak off connector through the clip? Does it damage the tip?

    Great video! Made me realice the stupid retaining clip was not all the way in..
    As I took out the broken injector.. the clip dropped near the injector hole.. I’m just hoping it won’t fit down .. I can’t find it anywhere and I’m just praying it didn’t go inside the engine 😅😅

    I have an smax with the same loss of paint around the edges of the windscreen. On the back of the glass, outside the adhesive seal. It was caused by jetwashing too aggressively. It hasn't affected the sealing on the windscreen, on mine it's purely cosmetic.

    Guna try this ina min. Thanks for vid. Im not sure you need to remove the pins all the out, just need to pop with screw driver then pry out. Would save dropping them.

    • @ChazzCoombes
      @ChazzCoombes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers for the comment yeah i know i was putting new ones in regardless. Its all good now tho and in my new mk4 vid you see me using a flat screwdriver behind the pins to stop them popping out.

    Thanks for this , very helpful going to attempt it tomorrow... Does it matter if clips are pushed from front? After checking under my bonnet seems two clips are pushed from the front and two clips are as is.

    I’ve just realised my car which one second was driving ok then all of a sudden won’t drive above 10 mph ( fuel/ air related) has no r clips in place and therefore one / 2 keep popping out. Could this be reason car is not working? Thank u for your thoughts
