Hi, Pendulum boss.. Could you make your Akkermansia supplement more affordable??? 😊

Have you seen her interview with Peter Attia? The facility to produce this anaerobe cost $150 M.

An interesting experiment would be something along these lines:
Get the Pump N' Seal system (the base, inexpensive one). Make some regular kefir, let it get nice and acidic (i.e. let it culture for a few days). The more acidic it is, the less oxygen there will be (this is why we add things like lime or apple cider vinegar to things like mashed avocado to keep it from browning aka oxidizing). Pump the air out of the container (mason jar/lid). Add just a little fresh milk, let it culture for a bit (half a day or so), then pump out the air again. Every once in awhile, pump out some more air.
Concurrently as the above, in a separate, much smaller glass jar with metal lid, put in one of the pills with active A. probiotic and cover that pill with a little pasteurized apple cider vinegar--just enough to submerge the pill. Pump the air out. The apple cider vinegar does two things, being moderately acidic and a liquid, it has a very low oxygen content. It will also work on softening up and weakening the enteric capsule some.
Once the capsule looks like it is starting to break down, transfer it to the other container and immediately pump out as much air as is possible (these can pull 28" Hg which is actually a pretty decent vacuum). Once done, swish it around and let it sit for a couple of days, again pumping out some air every once in awhile. Then put it in a cold fridge (and at the coldest part of same).
You'll have to quickly open same up and down it quickly and then quickly put the lid back on and pump air out again and put it back in the fridge. The acidic milk medium will help to keep it protected from oxygen meanwhile. Some or most near the surface will surely die, but some should survive in the non air exposed mass. *Only consume same AFTER a large meal (the largest of the day), and wait like 10 to 30 minutes after the large meal to consume it, so that as much of the probiotics will survive the stomach as possible.*
This won't compare to Pendulum's high tech, expensive process (as to creating and maintaining as much live culture), but it does highly improve the odds of creating and sustaining at least some of the oxygen sensitive Akkermansia strain. It's at least worth experimenting with. The downside is that you'll probably have to use a new pill every time you want to make more and under the above highly specific and controlled process. You can try reusing some of the old batch though. If you have a good microscope, you could possibly see if there is abundant population or not in a recultured sample.

Hi!! I recently discovered that Pendulum's akkermansia strain is very resistant. Because you can make yogurt at temperatures above 98.6 °F (without needing to put it in a vacuum), I also took part of the yogurt and put it in the freezer for 5 days, and then I tried to make a new yogurt and it immediately worked! This strain is different from other akkermansias

Presently using for my 18 year old who was also a 26 week preemie that was given antibiotics right away. He was flat in Akkermansia after GI Map testing. Grateful my naturopath recommended. He is doing well.

Love the research and I am willing to try..yet we all know restoring the gut microbiome and or restoring health isn’t as simple as giving just one specific strain…and I know you know this…

Yeah for red wine!! and chocolate! Dont forget extra virgin olive oil
for polyphenols. Amazing that alcohol in red wine doesnt kill akk. being an antibiotic. Pinot noir grown without Roundup use is my fav red highest in poly.
Im trying yogurt made from L Reuteri....another amazing tummy bug.
My beard at 71 is growing twice as fast on it. Shows higher testosterone levels.

Organic black mission figs are quite high in polyphenols and fairly high in good fiber for probiotics.

@@susanb3989 Yeah, go to settings and put it at .75 speed. It will sound slightly less "normal" but not too much so. It should slow it down just enough to better understand. .5 will probably be too slow and weird sounding.

My aunt has been suffering from chronic contact dermatitis for years. She also has rheumatoid arthritis. Are there any studies that show the low levels of akkermansia related to contact dermatitis or any skin disorders?

    • @justinw1765
      @justinw1765 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

It is well known, and has been for many years, especially in the more holistic/alternative healing community, that leaky gut etc is extremely involved with all kinds of (if not all) skin issues. I have psoriasis and both diet and stress very strongly affect symptoms.
Healing the gut involves more than just taking a probiotic, though that can help. It is a very holistic process that includes the mind and body. Things like managing stress better, regular proper exercise, right diet, avoiding environmental toxins as much as possible, etc are crucial in healing and balancing the gut. Also helpful are various supplements like slippery elm bark, american saffron, BPC-157 peptide, DGL, L-glutamine, glycine, tumeric, zinc carnosine, etc. And yes, certain probiotics like the one talked about in this video. Believe it or not, sometimes even spinal adjustments are very helpful to even necessary at times (nerve impingements can affect various organs and systems of the body negatively, especially over a longer term, chronic sense) .
It often takes awhile to correct gut issues. There is no quick fix unfortunately. Expect many months to years to fully correct same, all while eating a consistently strict diet and keeping up a healthy lifestyle holistically. Unfortunately, many people seem to lack the will, discipline, and dedication to completely correct these issues, because it is so much easier to look for quick fixes like with pharmaceuticals, creams, etc. Most of which only treat symptoms and not the root cause(s).
Not what people like or want to hear, but the cold hard truth.

I am currently not in need of weight loss, rather the opposite as I am 25 pounds below ideal weight. I have some very challenging recurring hemorrhoids (since 2012), which are periodically crippeling. And periodontis interestingly in the area with teeth connected to the large intestine (chinese medicine). Do I risk loosing more weight taking supplements with Akkermansia and could it possible help with the hemorrhoids?

It will die. Akkermansia cannot come in contact with oxygen.
