    Offroad animal bars look sick. That ARB bar is a grandpa bar.

    Hey mate, absolutely loving your videos and just wanted to pass on the thanks for the great content. I don't know why you don't have more views when your content is as good as some of the guys pulling 50k subs, but maybe it'll just take a little time. Keep it up! I think it's become a lot more engaging when you switched from just music/film to having you talk through things, so that's been great to see. And love the gear walkthroughs like this one on your vehicle and reckon you should put out some more videos reviewing different gear etc. Anyway, loving seeing the Ranger in action, see you on the tracks! 🤙

      Thank you so much for the support! Really appreciated! Hopefully the channel will grow with time! Will definitely take you up on that idea! Thanks again! Lots more content to come!

      From a TH-cam perspective, it's the little things that show a lower production value than other channels. A $10 dead cat would reduce all that wind noise. On a 20+ minute video, I need chapters to skip ahead to the segments I want to see, and it takes less than 5 minutes to add them per video. Lastly, affiliate links in the description in case I want to buy any of the same products you have. As a bonus this would earn you even more money.

    I recommend changing intercooler rubber hose to aluminum one…
    with the stock turbo boost of max 25 PSI, the hose still can’t take it, more or less “rubber”will brakes.

    Well thought out & nice & light touring setup mate, particularly good when your towing. I'm towing a 2.7T Hybrid Van and keep my Ute set up very similar, and self sufficient for a few nights camping when I`m not towing. The only addition I fitted is a Brown & Davis 153L Long Range fuel tank, which pretty much doubles my range for touring and towing..

    • @rangertouring
      @rangertouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate!i have been looking into long range tanks, but the issue I’ve run into is that my battery is stored on the chassis. This is normally the additional space that long range tanks use to fill. We will see if there is a work around

    • @rosswalker3579
      @rosswalker3579 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With your spare Jerry and lightweight touring setup, you can probably get away with even needing a LR Fuel Tank. Well done again on your lightweight setup; the benchmark from what I've seen & you've probably saved yourself $30-$40K on a full touring canopy / GVM upgrade

    You mention that you carry a jerry of fuel and almost ran out in the Vic high country. I have a PX1 and fitted a long range tank that holds 140L and even after 3-4 days touring on the tracks, I am still well over 1/2 a tank. Worth a thought, especially when you can do Melb to Brissy on 1 tank :-) plus it saves a 20L jerry of space...

      Its definitely on the list of things to do still. Looking at doing the Simpson Desert at some point, if I can lock that trip in, I'll be getting the long range fuel tank

      @@rangertouring I'm also interested in the second battery install you have as I currently take 2 battery boxes when I go on trips, 1 for my fridge and the stuff in the tub and a second smaller one for portable power around the camp. Any chance of doing a small short vid on the 2nd battery and where/how it's mounted and how it's cabled ? and importantly, how it is protected when you are offroad.

  • @bryanjeddy
    @bryanjeddy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey mate thanks for the vid.
    I’m looking at the Ranger for my lap car. Any issues with the roller shutter? Leaking, dust and it getting stuck ?

    • @rangertouring
      @rangertouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, the roller shutter is a bit hit and miss. It is not dust proof but It is mostly water proof in most rainy conditions. The tailgate isnt sealed so it lets the elements in. It has jammed up on me and I have had parts replaced since I got the car. Next time I would just get a canopy, but that’s my personal opinion. It still good for getting the best of both worlds

    • @bryanjeddy
      @bryanjeddy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rangertouring thanks mate. Yeah I’m now looking at a canopy after seeing a few reviews on it. Possibly the Utemaster (a bit on the expensive side) or the Ali-cab.

    Good one. Weight is an issue. What is your Ranger weighing in at set up like this?

    • @rangertouring
      @rangertouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Without any weight in it, it’s coming in at about 2.75 tonne. Which means I have about 450kgs worth of payload

  • @sloth_e
    @sloth_e 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What were your rhino roof bars worth roughly? I think I'll do the same set up. Only want to put an awening n solar panel on it so anything else is overkill.

    • @rangertouring
      @rangertouring  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, the cost about $400 from memory. They will work fine for that!

  • @leegatland64
    @leegatland64 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm interested in the roof top setup you have ... which Darche 180 awning are you running .. is it the Gen 2 (2 metres) or the Versatile (1.5 metres)? Also what length Vortex bar have you run between the rails. I have a PX3 2019 Wildtrak and am looking to do same or similar. I'm hoping you can help me out.

    • @rangertouring
      @rangertouring  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, it is 2 meter awning (Gen 2). The vortex bars are about 900mil apart, which is pretty much as fun as they can be on the rails that come with the wildtrak

    • @leegatland64
      @leegatland64 2 ปีที่แล้ว
